Hey guys I just completed Muv Luv Extra and Unlimited the other day and I'm about to dive on MLA, I shared my experiences with some friends on discord like how my favorite heroine was Meiya, one of them told me that she doesn't have a route on MLA, is this true? What the beta actually do in their free time? I mean they aren't always fighting/eating humans and not all of the species can be utilized to expand hives. Since they are more or less a collective hive-mind following directives that are sent out by the Superordinate. I wonder if they just literally shut down all functions and idle where they are until a new directive is received.

Currently re-reading Schwarzesmarken Junkyousha-tachi and the thought occurred to me during the coup in Berlin when the Beta are seemingly hanging back only a dozen miles away and doing nothing for awhile despite having an opportune window to raise hell while the human factions are fighting one another. Tried to visualize a mental image of the beta idling with nothing to do and I just end up seeing a bunch of tank class arm wrestling with each other, the laser class lazily zapping passing birds out of the sky to kill time, the soldier class practicing their CHOMP form with almost religious fervor, and the warrior class doing like pull ups with their elephant nose like appendage on nearby tree branches. LOL mean probably not, but I can't help but form a ridiculous mental image when we have no idea what their non-hostile idle state is like. I know some of them probably like to play scientist and experiment on earth shit based on what we know happened to a particular girl in MLA. But beyond that it's anyones guess what them freaky mfs be getting up to when we ain't lookin.

How well do you think the EDF would do if they came face to face with a BETA invasion? Would they be able to hold out? Would their weapons and armor secure victory?

Or would they fall and be eaten alive?

They are too effective combatants and have far too many convenient 'units' to utilize against humans, vastly so.

If the general idea is that they are living mining machines and extreme omnivores created by a crystal species who don't think any life forms of carbon basing could develop anything close to sentience.... then non of these things would be equipped to fire modern weaponry let alone scifi weaponry?

As they are living mining machines i would imagine yes they are more durable and likely have exoskeletons to help fend off harsher environs. So that would inherently make them more weapon resistant.

And some of the variants make sense. The 'fotress' ones are merely transportation devices and likely raw material carriers. the 'tanks' would more than likely be the base form of processors. Grapplers could be used for crushing harder materials so the tanks could consume them more efficiently.

The vast majority of other variants are just bullshit made up to make more of a roffle stomp happen than necessary. There is no meaningful use for those battering ram ones when they already have grapplers for resource breaking. The human sized ones make no sense cause the tanks would be vastly more efficient. And god fuck those laser eye things, they are practically a shark jump. Ther eis literally no mining utility to the lasers as presenting. Not to mention the weapons that even the fortress has.....

The BEta should be completely and irrevocably confused bout what is going on with earth. They seem tohave some basic hive intelligence and if they can't recognize organics as intelligent life, then what the fuck is going on to them? Fucking missles and mechs and shit flying around blowing them up.

By the measure set it would imply the Beta had encountered the 'crystal life' outside of their creators home planet and overlooked them by the directive given. By what limited logic they have they should have been so fucking confused about modern weapons blowing them up that they should have halted and tried to communicate back home.

AT the very least they would either A, freak out and halt things while trying to figure out what is going on, or B, think that they are invading another species' territory and would back off and figure out why they have no information about them in that area.

So let me start this off by saying that I only recently got into the Muv-Luv series after getting a psvita that had all three games on it. I didnt really think anything of it until I started playing.

I absolutely love Visual Novels and I adore slice of life stories so Extra was exactly how I expected it to be going in. I didn’t really know anything about the community at the time and I hate using walkthroughs, so I played through and did 100% for both Extra and Ultimate.

Ultimate I kind of have a bone to pick with. I liked it and it was okay, but it felt very repetitive as far as routes and general story. I loved Extra but Ultimate felt like a slog to get through.

Now as far as Alternative is concerned, I have reached as far as the first major character death. Already this game is incredible. The story writing is amazing and keeps me coming back for more every time I take a break. The characters feel so much more fleshed out and connected.

Things feel more drastic in the story, more heavy and emotional impact that has had me in tears a few times already. The developers really outdid themselves with this and Im absolutely loving the community. I found out there is an anime and Ill be watching that once Ive got my Alternative Plat.

I cant wait to see what else this game has in store.
