Hey, Ya'll, I think people have asked this, so sorry for asking again but I require your assistance if you don't mind.
Short story I was talking to my pa about the subject of anime, and he brought up the ones he grew up with, which includes Mazinger Z. He isn't on the internet that often and had no idea that the series continued since the dub that played in Mexico stopped at at the first series (Mazinger Z) and was especially surprised when I gave him the 2017 film Mazinger Z: Infinity.
So I came to this side of the internet to ask so kindly if anyone can give me a watch order for the series and a list of the spin-offs that I can show him in order.
I'm doing my best to find the series via DVDs and Blu-ray copies so that he can have physical copies. I know that I can stream them, but I feel like the physical copies are better as a keepsake.
I appreciate y'all if you decide to help me in my side quest.
Have A Goodday Pilot's
These are the things I remember. There was a giant mecha that’s mission was to escort this spaceship full of children that were evacuated from a human populated planet that was being invaded by blue aliens. There was two men and two women piloting the robot with this short bald kid as there sidekick who had a crush on one of the women. The main villains was the leader of the blue people that wore a metal helmet and a blonde woman with a domino mask. This woman not only killed the alien leader but tortured and whipped one of the mecha pilot’s father. When the son found the father the latter died in his arms. The mecha was blue and white, had yellow eyes, a mouth cap and possibly had a number on it?
There was one scene where the mecha crashing on a snowy planet and it transformed into a tank before it and the crew were captured by the blue aliens.
Now does ANY of this sound familiar to anyone.
Maybe it's an odd question to posit, because repairs and the like tend to be the filler or fluff. But I love engineer characters, personally. I've always wondered what it must be like to work on a machine like that. Is there guilt contributing to an endless tide of battle? Is there a kinship to the mech? Do they have a defensiveness over the mechs they repair? I feel like the relationships engineers have with each other and the mechs/weapons that they need to repair or learn how to improve is unexplored. So, if you have any shows that have even a few scenes, or maybe even a focus on these engineer-type characters, I'd love to hear them!
Edit: Thanks for all the responses so far!! It’s appreciated :)
