Hi everyone, I've gotten into painting my nails but I seem to have recently developed an allergy to nail polish. I've tried a few brands and a few types, regular polish, gel (not the ones that need curing), vegan brands, and I've run into the same thing. I've asked in the shops but mostly get told to try a vegan brand which hasn't been the answer. Annoyingly I can't tell what the exact ingredient to avoid is. Does anyone know any brands that play well with allergy or sensitivity?
Hi, I want to buy my friend a multichrome, duochrome or iridescent eyeshadow as a gift. She likes dark shades (red, purple) and cold colours (especially blue) and she likes a vampire/horror vibe. I'm clueless with makeup so hoping someone here can help?
Can anyone recommend some brands or shades to look out for in the UK that match her taste without being (hopefully) too expensive?
Excuse the breakouts in the pic. Essentially I HATE the shape of my lips. They're uneven on one side so I never wear lip products because it feels like doing so emphasises the awful shape. They're also really pale naturally. I was thinking about lip blushing, but rn I'm asking yall for help with 2 things. Product recs for my lips but better colour wise - liner, a glossy hydrating lipstick maybe (nothing matte) and help with how to line them to make them more even or just look better. I also think I have a double lip line?
I just saw Queen Erin Parson's video about the Gigi Hadid lipstick shade named after her.
It's still available to buy on uk ebay and amazon but I can only find the red shades.
Does anyone have the lipstick in the shade "Erin" that they would be willing to sell? It's a mauve.
It was from 2017 so I know the UK girlies were buying all of the drugstore mauves, someone has to have it!
Cool tone mauve recommendations welcome too.
Edit spelling.
I got a BTEC in hair and beauty years ago and I have lost my certificate and have no idea what grade I got.
I am looking to start as a Bridal MUA as I have done other peoples makeup before, plus someones actual Bridal makeup for their wedding day and I received so many compliments that I think i should really give it a go.
What do I need? I understand I have to buy lots of different skin tone shades of makeup and I wanted an idea of how much it all costs, plus any qualifications or training that I should take.
If this is not the right sub, please direct me 🥺
Hi all, could someone please suggest what products I should use on my eyebrows and how I should use them? I've never done anything with them and I have no idea where to start! They're quite thin and don't naturally have a very good shape so I'm a bit lost
I’m trying to write a list of good makeup products from boots UK. Not too over the top expensive.
I need full coverage foundation A good mascara Setting powder Bronzer Highlighter Contour Eyebrow pencil
the bottom left shimmer is what im looking for something similar to, its a shimmer with a purple iridescence
elf cookies and dreams palette - discountinued and this is the last palette in my stock 💔 i have to find an alternative because i use this as highlighter lol
I’d prefer to buy it online but I can’t find it on Boots and on Amazon it seems to be a dupe. It’s available in iHerb but I don’t wanna pay £9 shipping all things considered :’)
I'm not sure if this allowed here sorry . But is anyone else going to the Birmingham opening ? If so what time are you lining up. Also did anyone go to the Manchester opening ? How was it and were you able to get a goodie bag?
Hi all! I have a light skin tone with a neutral undertone, I typically wear a pinky peach blush but would a bronzy blush (like bronze terracotta by rhode) suit my skin tone? If so, does anyone have any reccs too! I adore the MBM curve case formula but I think he doesn’t have any blonzing shades. thank you!!
Hi everyone, I've finally finished my favourite lip liner the 'Etude House Soft Touch Auto Lipliner - #1 Soft Rose'. Does anyone know a dupe for this as its discontinued.
The closest I've found is the Kosas Hotliner Hyaluronic Acid Contouring Lip Liner in Mega and wanted to see if there was more options!
Thank you
I went into boots for a prescription and ended up with some no.7 products as well. I have to say I was really skeptical, no.7 does not feel targeted at my demographic and feels like it’s a little bit dated. I have been so pleasantly surprised, especially with the foundation. I am very pale and find it hard to find a shade match that doesn’t make me look orange and the no7 lady found me something that I feel suits me (let me know below if not please 😅) the cream bronzer from their new pro artist range looks a little orange on a swatch but over foundation it does look a lot more seamless than expected. Although if you’re a beginner I would approach this product with caution as it’s easy to over do it! The liquid blush is easily blendable but you only need the amount you would use with the iconic rare beauty liquid blush. The shade range of the blush and bronzer could be better for darker skin tones I will say, especially the bronzer. Let me know what you think!

Searching for a match for this discontinued Alessandra Steinherr for MAC lipstick. It’s the absolute perfect neutral nude pink with a satin finish. Closest I have found is MAC Patisserie that is also discontinued 🥲 I’ve also tried “Thanks It’s MAC” which pulls too cool on me and “$ellout” which is too pink. Would love any help for a similar shade and finish! Thank you!
Just wondering whether it’s a frequent thing or more like once or twice a year. Thanks in advance 🤍
Hi all!
Hope you can help me. I used to buy a lot of make up, some of it high end, others just average drugstore stuff and now I have quite a collection of stuff. I imagine most of this was bought between 5 and 10 years ago so plenty of it is probably expired (according to the number on the box) so it is quite old and I no longer where makeup.
What should I do with all of this stuff? Is there any kind of recycling that can be done? Can I use eyeshadow for something else like paints or making nail polish? Should I just put it all in the bin?
I am not going to get rid of it all but I’m aiming to be able to put it all in one box so some of it needs to go. Some of this stuff has literally only been swatched so it seems like such a waste. I know better now and no longer over-consume but I was young and dumb when I bought all of this.
Thanks so much for any advice!
I’m really sorry but i forgot to take a picture yesterday however my makeup has started separating and sort of pilling around my chin/ mouth area after a couple of hours of wear. It’s never done this before and i’m wondering why or how ?? I typically use the ELF niacinimide primer, tarte shape tape concealer no7 loose powder and the l’oréal setting spray around this area. The only new products introduced are the setting spray and primer but for some reason i just cant seem to figure it out and it’s looking really gross and makes me feel insecure as ive been known to always have a super smoothie long lasting base- this didn’t even happen when i would work 10 hours shift. Any advice would be appreciated thankypu 🩷🩷🩷
Hey I’m looking for a powered blush recommendation I have green eyes, dark brown hair, and most importantly very pale cool toned skin so any brand and shade names would be appreciated ive tried liquid and cream blushes before and I hate them
hello! i have changed up my routine since a few months ago when it was longer but id long advice on anything ib my routine really that could speed things up. for context: i have pretty minimal acne but i have rlly dark dark circles and im not sure if i should add in color corrector
As title says! I'm currently using the Elf camo concealer I believe? which is a liquid concealer and is pretty good, but looking to explore more options. I have extremely dry skin and most makeup clings to dry patches even with thorough moisturising.
so, we know that makeup and ur face in general change w lighting. the thing is, i usually do my makeup in the bathroom but with the cold months coming and my bathroom not facing natural lighting, i get the worst lighting that just emphasizes a lot of my features in a unflattering way. how should i fix the lighting situtation w barely any bright light outside and with my room not facinf thr light
I love the look of thin gel liner but I’m struggling with applying it. I’ve got a really thin brush and an angled one and it just looks awful ! Any tips? It looks really patchy and clunky. Thanks 🥰🥰
Can anyone confirm if the MAC pro palettes where you can put the individual eyeshadows etc in have been completely discontinued. I can’t seem to find them anywhere?
