I’m sorry, I just had to. This reminded me of those dumbass pranksters who poke at people until they explode 😂 in this case, the working joe was the target
I had no idea you could take them out first. I went for it for fun and actually got them all. Then I realized they were supposed to be Steve’s victims. Sorry, Steve 😅
How can you be mad at Steve? He’s so cute and curious 👽🥹
What enemy types what would ya'll love to see in the Isolation sequel? I know the game is ways away but I'm curious on what ya'll would want to see.
I'd personally want to see human enemies return, maybe have xeno runners in addition to advanced synthetics!
Does anyone know what to do here? I've pressed activated all the 3 button power generators, looked through all computer terminals, crafted all items and god the secret code but cannot proceed. NPC dude who's escorting me just walks backwards and forwards in this corridor.
It's like feels very much like game breaking but rather than me missing something. In videos online I see for other players the NPC opening the elevator. Anyone know a fix?
For example a dead guy killed by the alien, resembling the reviewer, and a recorder next to him referencing his review on the first game. That'd be hilarious.
I just entered, I have saved before doing anything with Alpha reactor but after I did I got 6-7 signals on the radar so I just quit right then and there. Anything I should know before hand? I heard 2 xenos are possible at this stage due to a bug, right?
!So we have the scene on the Anesidora where Marlow shows us the voice message that Ripley left to us. But how did they have that voice message from her?!<
!I assume Ripley made this voice message right alongside the original log from the end of the first movie. In both logs she talks about having destroyed the Nostromo. So these recordings should not be in the Nostromo's flight recorder unit, but only in the escape pod she is in.!<
!But the Anesidora only ever found the flight recorder of the Nostromo, which has no way of containing these logs. So how did they get around to showing them to us?!<
I havn't found any info about this yet, so I was wondering if it has been explained somewhere or is simply a plot hole?
I played this game when it first released. I remember it fondly. It was the closest thing to a good alien movie we so needed but never got.
I am replaying it now for a second time. All I can say it destroys any good will the game builds up with its cumbersome length and pacing issues. I am chapter 18 now and I have had it with the alien. I am sick and tired of it. I just want to get from A to B without being slowed down by the annoying alien/aliens.
Also the level design is sometimes extremely confusing, nest being a prime example. So frustrating getting lost and eventually getting killed.
I would rate it as IGN did. 7/10.
It has potential if the sequel goes the way of Dead Space which is a far superior game. Forced stealth games are not fun when they are so long.
On Alien: Isolation, they of course got the one and only Sigourney Weaver to return, as well as Sir Ian and the entire original 1979 cast of "Alien".
I honestly believe that Sigourney would be willing to lend her voice as Ripley once again, but I can only see two ways for that to work...
The first would be a Neil Blomkamp-esque idea of a story set between Aliens and Alien 3, with Ripley awake.
The second would be Ripley 8.
I don't think it should be LV-426, because it's a literal ticking clock between Newt's dad and the Marines arriving...there's no unexpected fun to be had. Something LIKE Fiorina 161 could be fun, but the story needs to be there.
As long as the intensity and the tension of A:I1 is still there, I don't actually mind the setting. It NEEDS though not to be "action" or reboot/revival. The pacing has to be right, the length of the game, the interest without desperation, etc.
I'm hoping and praying for this, but if The Weaver comes back, how do you reckon things will go?
I'm in love with this game and got more than 100 hours in it, but after some very tense encounters with 2 xenos near the end and such gameplay variety throughout, I always dislike the fact that the last gameplay there is are some facehuggers, a couple of scripted train scares, and quick time events.
What I really want for the sequel is some ending encounter that really highlights the game's gameplay. Not a boss battle per se, but maybe having to trap some aliens using distractions and doors, like you'd do in normal gameplay, but having it be definitive and spectacular this time. Whatever really, as long as I don't feel like I can relax until the very end cinematic.
Thoughts?
I have a few versions of this game including on the PS4/5 and Nintendo Switch, but I have to say the mobile version is incredible. It literally looks and runs better than the console versions and works perfectly with a portable controller. Highly recommend it if you have a fairly powerful phone or tablet.
I'm playing this game for the first time and I'm on mission 12 at the moment. I got to the part where you have to get the keycard off of the android from the showroom and then go meet Samuels in the room where he killed an android while you're in the vents. He wasn't actually in the room anymore but the objective still completed and it told me to 'follow Samuels' despite him not being there. I just kept walking until I found the room where Samuels seemingly teleported to - but the dialogue that was supposed to play wouldn't actually play. He went into that MRI looking thing (?) in the next room over and I got a new objective, but none of the dialogue played and none of the closed captions displayed either. Playing on PC with no mods installed. Has anyone else encountered this, and is there a fix? Or am I just gonna have to go dialogue-less for the rest of the game lol?
Hear me out! Have it be similar to the tone of Alien, the alien while being aggressive is also being hunted by the crew for most of the movie.
This entire level is insane. Bro even crouched down to try to hear me. I panicked at the end.. but it was too late anyway. Love this game. I wouldn’t even have experienced this interaction had my previous attempt went successful as I was so close to completing this section of the mission.
You could tell he struggled with the decision 💀
Despite the game title, I never really felt totally isolated except in a few short sequences, mainly mission 17 which is one of my favorites. Either Samuel, Waits, Ricardo, or finally Verlaine are almost always in contact with you. The sections where you do not have anybody at the radio are few. Their presence, even if through a walkie talkie, subtracts the feeling that you are alone (at least for me). There are also many survivors that you can occasionally meet in person, and you always have a goal or a direction.
For the most part my experience was more thrilling than dreadful, especially after getting the game breaking flamethrower. I would like to see more sections where you literally do not have anyone to keep in touch, where you are truly lost, wandering in solitude, darkness, and silence. It wouldn't require to change the gameplay (to me it is a challenge of avoidance, quick thinking, and quicker transitioning), but it would give a new flavor to the atmosphere.
Doing the medical trauma kit mission, put power into the vent and halfway up the ladder i hear him open my vent and start crawling under me. he’s been stuck there for 30 minutes like a rabid raccoon in an attic spazzing back and forth (from what I can hear).
im terrified of climbing up the ladder, does the alien climb lol or am I cooked.
So I'm going for One Shot, the last trophy I need for completion. I'm at Mission 6. If I get caught by Stompy and see the start of the death animation, but I pause and load current save before I get to the black screen, am I still on track? I've had that happen twice already (one vent, one bad luck where the alien was in the next room I entered.
I'm gonna be spending Xmas alone- and am CONTEMPLATING doing another playthrough of Alien Isolation...
And I thought
I wonder if anyone else fancies like- joining me? We would all start on the same date- and keep on touch.. just sharing how our game was going...
Maybe- start at the start of the holidays?
Some of us could even create a little community on YOU TUBE and post our playthroughs or SHARE STREAMs of playthroughs
Any takers?
Edit: throw me some dates about when the holiday starts. ALSO - i dont have to be in charge of this - if anyone else has got an Alien Sub or a You Tube or Twitch account- and wants to "helm" this shout out. Otherwise I'll try to direct 😁
I want to confess something
I didnt realize that there was a helpful direction indicator on the motion tracker until right near the end of my first playthrough.
This meant that apart from frequent referencing the map I was having to rely on my sense of direction, memory and cognitive ability to navigate. (Does anyone else remember not realizing that one location destination had a significant abbreviation in its signposting at the transit station?)
And somehow I made it through- except for ONE time- when I took the wrong lift and/or transit. And while I TOTALLY hated the game in that moment- I remember it really fondly now Because in that moment, Svestapol was a TOTALLY real place, where you could take a wrong turn and get lost My memory is that apart from a crappy run in with survivor (might have died from a gunshot & reapawned or escaped/killed him) I somehow got through it - it might have been during the middle section - but I remember I was really on my nerves so I'm not certain
I really want alien isolation 2 to be set on a prison planet like alien 3. I love the atmosphere of that film even if it’s… okay at best. I don’t know how that would work story wise though.
We finally did it. I made it extra hard on myself by doing one shot AND going to get the nostromo logs & ID tags in one run…. But I did it. 😎
I'm aware that a sequel to this beautiful game has been announced, but how would a sequel even happen in accordance to the plot? Dont you get ejected into space at the end of the game? Or do you think we just gonna be a completely diff person on a diff ship I personally think it would be cool if we are playing from another persons POV on the same ship
I am on my 6th play through and I have for the first time been exploring Sevastopol to its fullest, I have also been paying close attention that the transit system and elevators make sense. I just purged the reactor and the lady announcer says "power levels through out Sevastopol compromised", was the lighting changed through out the station after this point? or anything to indicate actual power levels being compromised? Has anyone looked into this details of the game to see if the map changes after this point?
On Mission 11 where the working joes start leaving their posts… went into the vent to come find out that this is what the working joes did to the humans 😂
The moaning is next level scary, those poor people. The fact that we find their tags is even worse. I hate thinking of them down there. But man is it so well done and beautifully crafted. This game is a masterpiece. It did what I didn’t think was possible and moved RE7 from my second favorite game, to my third. There’s no denying this game. I can’t believe it took this long to get a sequel. I can’t wait! Also, the alien sounds down there weren’t all like Steve. I’m dying to see the Queen, etc.
Pure fear 😂 I had no idea he was in front of me and then went back up. I just panic flamed around me. Steve is so smart that he remembered my location, though lol
