This is an umbrella for all space sim related games. Anything from Orbiter to Dark Star One and anything in between is fair game.

I always loved the space genre, but the latest instalments are not helping with my need for outer space. From roguelikes (Porspector) to combat and traders (Freelancer, Freespace, Privateer 1/2), I almost never run out of fun things to do.
Now I'm looking for new games, that are not so popular but are made with the same love. They may be 2D, 2,5D or 3D.
Any tips?
PS.: X series, Elite Dangerous were great, but I'm looking for smaller devs.
Edit: A big thanks to everyone. I will make a list with the suggestions.
Ones I want to try:
- Starsector
- ΔV: Rings of Saturn
- Independence War Deluxe Edition
- Starbourne 2
- Orbiter Space Flight Simulator
- Blackstar Ranger
- Escape Velocity (series)
- Space Rangers HD - A War Apart
- Cosmoteer
- Objects in Space
Already in my list, but never played:
- 3030 Deathwar Redux - A Space Odyssey
- Battlezone 98 redux
The "I heard of, but never played" list:
- Rebel Galaxy 2 (I got the first one)
Do you guys have any good hard sci-fi game suggestions, I'm searching for games like The Expanse, games that implement science well and make it part of the mechanics of the game, I think games like Children of a Dead Earth did this work pretty well but I think I need some other hard sci-fi games because I like the genre
Looking for a space themed 2D game where u can create your own ship where it then either goes on a planet to dig to minerals or fight above the surface Or go into a duel with other creations. Remember one of the blocks u can choose is with green and blue to increase power and fuel. You can also kind of make the weapon parts where you select what aspect of the weapon you want to modify.
Would greatly apreciate it if anyone knows the game
I've been having a blast playing Factorio Space Age recently and I was wondering what other games with in depth logistics/economies are set in just one solar system or like what KSP 2 was going to be. It seems that most space games are based around interstellar empires and in that scale they take a lot of liberties. The only ones that come to mind are offworld trading company, terra invicta, and aurora4x but aren't quite like space age
I’m looking for a new space exploration and combat game. Something with “active controls” combat, not point and click. I looked at “Eve Online” on YouTube, but prefer more manual control over the combat.
Looking for something with a story and free play, plenty of customizations. If it has some MMORPG elements like Raid battles against pirate factions, that would be great.
I'm looking for new simulator games to make gaming content videos for my youtube channel https://youtube.com/@bearded_egg_games?si=vBjH7_r3eao8tkfv
I have already dabbled in euro truck simulator 2, cooking simulator, supermarket simulator with weekly videos for mini series feel free to check them out
I'm looking for more simulator games to see what Is popular and what interest there is for a new play through series
Let me know your ideas below Thanks
So I want to get a game where I play as a space organization that has to research, develop, launch rockets, and manage funds.
It eventually goes from aiming for the moon, to Mars, to colonization. and further onwards. Ideally there would be a space race.
I have tried kerbal space program, It isn't exactly what I am looking for.
What have you been playing right now? What are you excited to see come out in the near future? If you're making a game, what are you working on? Anything Space Sim Game related, let us know.
Hey all, brand new here, and to the genre in general. I'm looking for a game (on PC) that I can play with my wife, brother, and friends. Ideally, everyone has different roles on the ship; Captain, engineering, gunners, etc. Being able to move about the ship is something I am set on, and some degree of customization as far as ship loadout, and different ship types are a plus. Looking for something that has a lot of replayability, and is primarily pve focused, but I'm not 100% against something that has pvp. Ideally the learning curve isn't insane, but I'm open to games with more complexity.
Void Crew looks like a very close match to what I'm looking for, but I was hoping for some more suggestions to check out. Thanks for your time!
i thought it was a good game but the bugs and tedium made it so i spent half my time trying to understand what was happening, 30% of my time dying and having to get new stuff, and 20% of my time actually flying
any advice?
