How have people spun the imposing of tariffs (potentially) as something good?

I know people think that will mean more American owned and operated businesses, but do you have any idea how many years it would take to get the infrastructure needed to do that? We don’t just have a bunch of factories sitting empty. Also there are some crops we really can’t grow here. All this will do is drive up prices and reduce what is available at the stores. A lot of companies and businesses are already putting out the warning on how this will raise prices.

Baird's (IN-04) response to my letter asking him to support HR8535

HR 8535 is a bipartisan bill that would preserve 15k acres of public forest for future generations.

Bill details:

https://www.congress.gov/bill/118th-congress/house-bill/8535

Baird's response when asked to support the bill:

Thank you for sharing your views on preserving and protecting our natural environment. It is important to have your input on such matters, and it enhances my ability to serve you in the U.S. House of Representatives. I appreciate you taking the time to express your views on this important issue.

I understand the importance of protecting our natural environment. As a farmer and land owner, I recognize the important responsibility we have in keeping our land, air, and water resources viable for ourselves and future generations. As stewards of the Earth, we all have a duty to protect and manage our natural environment.

As your representative, I believe it is possible to achieve these goals through the power of American innovation instead of federal government overreach and one-size-fits-all solutions. I know how important it is to Hoosiers, many of whom rely on Indiana land and natural resources to earn a living, to protect our planet. Please be assured, I will keep your views in mind should legislation regarding our environment come before me for a vote.

It is an honor to serve as your Representative in Congress and I hope you will continue to call, email, or write me on any issues of importance to you. Please visit the 4th District's website at  www.baird.house.gov   to find out more about my work in Congress.

Sincerely,

Jim Baird
Member of Congress

Tubal ligation

I remember posts circulating about Indiana doctors who will perform a tubal ligation regardless of # of children, age and marital status. Anybody know of any doctors? Or know what post I’m talking about?

Indiana Voter Turnout Interactive Maps

Hi everyone! I've been learning JavaScript and decided to put some use to what I learned. Naturally, I already had voter data for Indiana on my computer, so I used that to make my own interactive Indiana voter turnout map! You can select two years and compare voter data for the state as a whole, or on a county level. This is my first pass at building anything myself, so let me know what you think! Here is a link to the website

Dave Hall / House District 62

I recently met this man awhile around town. He seems like a good guy. After talking with him, I feel like he’s worth voting for. If you find yourself in district 62, you should have a chat with him.

The GOP is why 89% of guns used in crimes are illegal! So, please tell me how Republicans are going to reduce gun violence?

The GOP is why 89% of guns used in crimes are illegal! They block and pass laws that prevent illegal guns, the vast majority of them coming from Red States with very relaxed gun laws, are getting in peoples hands.

So, please tell me how Republicans are going to reduce gun violence? Especially when buying illegal guns remains simple?

By the way, Jon Stewart also points out why we feel crime is on the rise even when it's not. We need to look at the news we are watching and from who.

Fear and outrage sells ads, gets clicks, likes, subscribers, followers and most of all, builds motivation to vote for people that will continue blocking policy, regulations and laws to help prevent and solve that fear and outrage.

Right now, we have a party and some individuals from the other that desperately want to and are always trying to address the issues plaguing our country.. Then we have another that's doing everything possible to prevent them. The latter being the Republican Party and their greedy and corrupt handlers that are desperately trying to maintain and maximize their wealth and power. No matter the consequences on us, our society, the environment and our Democracy built to protect and listen to the will of the people.

We need to vote for Democrats and Republicans that are willing to work together on the issues not for the Fear and Outrage Entrepreneurs puppets.
