My Koss KTXPRO1 come in tomorrow, not much information out there on how to change the stock pads to yaxi pads.
Looking for guide on how to do so
as the title says, I'm doing this for the sake of good sound quality hearing aid, these got it but the Bluetooth in it uses only (SBC Bluetooth) sbc got a lot of latency during any micrphone use in sound amplifier apps and wired headphones don't
May the Merciful bless all of you thanks
Hello! I `m looking for a pair of headphones with really strong-extreme isolation. If possible , good lows and tamed high frequencies , as I mostly play Live Electronic Music.
I plan to play drums with them. I`ve heard good things about the Pioneers HDJ-10X. I don't want to use IEM`s as I've experienced some hearing problems lately.
Any other recommendations? Thanks! ! !
I've had my dt770 for a year now and I wanted to turn them wireless for a while. I also needed something fun to do to keep my mind occupied.
To keep things away from the usual duct taped bluetooth receiver I chose to use my old KZ aptx hd receiver that I got for my IEMs and figure out how to incorporate it in the headphones in a removable way so that I could eventually use them again for their original purpose.
My 3D printer is currently out of order and I don't have heat shrinks on hand, so I reluctantly had to use, beside a strip of 3M double sided tape, a couple of slices of regular tape too.
My idea was to turn each cup into a big IEM using a 0.78 mm connector, the same as the KZ receiver. The actual connectors where quite expensive, so I bought a pair of cheap KZ etx lites on aliexpress for a couple of bucks.
I disassembled the IEMs and drew a sketch on a piece of paper to keep track of the polarities. I soldered longer wires to the 0.78 plugs and made holes in the cups using a fine tip on the soldering iron, then superglued the plugs in place being careful not to fill the connection holes.
it was then just a matter of fitting everything inside the headband and sticking the two mini grey sausages of the kz on the sides of the headband.
I did the mod in a couple of hours in my dorm room with the few tools I remembered to bring with me.
If I had to do it again I would get MMCX connectors, I used them for years on fpv vtxs and I like them better. Also, a dremel would have come in handy, or even a couple of fine tip files could have helped me make better oval shaped holes for the plugs.
The receiver is a KZ aptx HD 5.0, it is decent enough, surely better than a generic bluetooth receiver board. I did not want to spend the money to get a btr5 and the hidizs H2 was out of stock :/ . I'm pretty satisfied with how it came out, it is good enough to encourage me to use my dt770 more and I've also given a new life to a receiver that hasn't seen the light of day in a couple of years!

Hey everyone,
I'm considering a mod project and wanted to get your thoughts. Do you think it's possible to mod the Audio Technica ATH-M70x headphones into 3M PELTOR Optime III earmuffs for superior noise isolation without sacrificing audio quality? Has anyone attempted a similar mod or have insights on the feasibility?
Thanks in advance for any input or advice!
Let's say one were to paint their Bluetooth headphones, would they ruin the capacitive touch controls?
Marshall mid a.n.c. mod made of century olive wood.
I like the sound of my headphones, but during my use I started to miss the usb type-c for charging, I already have all my equipment on type-c - MacBook, and camera and tablet with smartphone, and I often started to forget the Marshalls charging cable. So I wanted to convert them to type-c.
Had to redesign the cup housing a bit to shove in a large enough type-c charging connector
At the moment of remodelling I thought why not add wireless charging - I did.
one of the failed prototypes with broken mounting screw seats
I replaced the native microphones with other ones, which improved the sound when making Bluetooth calls. And I also changed the native battery from 680mAh to 1200mAh, now I can listen to music for a week, yes, the new battery is thicker, but I make my own cups, I'll make 5 mm higher, it's no big deal....
Comparison of old and new battery sizes
And if I have to remake them why not make the cups out of wood, not just any wood but olive wood - excellent wood, probably the best of those I've worked with.
Texture of age-old olive tree rings on the right cup stock
Long story about how I made them, maybe I'll write a post on woodworking.
It was my first experience, I'll probably improve them a bit - I'll carve another set of cups from olive and one from an apple tree, the stumps of which were given to me by my father-in-law.
Future plans are to build my first custom diy planar headphones, with a driver of my own design
I need to modify a standard Honeywell vs130 to somehow put a Bluetooth speaker/headphone behind the foam in one of the ear cups. How do I go about accomplishing this seemingly unique situation I find myself in. I need the battery to last around ten hours and nothing can be visible by just looking at it. Is there something out there pre built for this kind of thing? Is this even possible?
I was taking my sundaras off and one of the screws popped off and went flying. I was able to recover 1 of 2 washers and the screw post. I don't have a micromiter and was hoping someone can tell me the size or part number I need for a replacement.
The most comfortable Koss to wear for hours on end. Added bass extension, sound stage, and excitement. Hot swappable speakers and pad adapters. No tools needed.
Hello! I just wanted to make a quick write up for the handful of people like me who are using the Lasmex L-85's and would like a cheap and relatively available replacement pad after their originals fail around the inner seam. Additionally, I also wanted to include a cheap perforated leather pad for the FiiO JT-1's that may interest some people as well.
For the L-85's I bought a pair of replacement pads for Sony MDR-XB950BT's just on a whim, since I had the L-85's put away because the pads were falling apart. I measured the diameter of the original pads to be about 85mm and the Sony's were 83mm, so just close enough to what I would deem comfortable for stretching them over the original size. And honestly, the fitment is great. The pads fall into place after figuring out how to keep them from rolling off the edge of the earcup and look close to the original pads as far as fitment on the cup, albeit they are thicker than the originals, but I believe that to be a good thing.
The pads are by WADEO and are just replacement pads for the MDR-XB950BT and other similar Sony headphones.
For the JT1's, I was actually looking for replacement pads for a pair of Hifiman HE-35X's I plan on selling soon. And as soon as I opened them, I realized that the are the exact right size for the JT1's and tried them on. They fit perfect on them and are thicker than the originals as well, but they kill a lot of the low-end that these headphones are tuned for, so if that's something you're interested in, these maybe for you. Or in general, a set of Hifiman replacement pads for HE-350 or 400's in your preferred flavor may be better, but the sizing is dead on for the JT1. Just make sure that they don't have the the clip on cup ring for those headphones since most that do have it are glued onto the pad.
The pads are by TaiZiChangQin for the HE400i and HE400s.
I hope this will be helpful to someone simply looking for a pair of replacement pads or are experimenting with different sizes and pad materials and needed some kind of baseline to be certain of sizing. Have fun modding!
hello everyone! I have made a set of head(amame) v2 headphones that are 3d printed and they have a boom mic on them. I am wondering if anyone knows of a bluetooth adapter that is able to pass the mic in the headphones to my computer. every bluetooth adapter that i have found doesnt seem to support microphones.
Dug out a gorgeous pair of headphones from waaaaay back and would love to make them Bluetooth/cordless. I’ve seen the jacks/ converters, but the brand Frends didn’t build in a jack in these earlier models. Any way to can still convert them without a jack?
Do I need a 2.5 to 2.5? Or 2.5 to 3.5? Are all 4 pole connections the same? Thanks for any help.
Serious but innocent question.. does it make a difference, if say you solder ground and channel on the opposite way or you plug in a .78 2pin the other way round or something like that? It seems to still play audio just fine? Any hidden effects or damages?
Today I brought some electronic trash away to the local trash collection depot and I saw these HD515 lying there for the grab. Officially not allowed but I wanted to see if they still worked. Would be a loss being destroyed imho. They work perfectly fine although the earpads have zero to no fill. Thing looks new.
Since I already have a pair of HD555 modded to HD595 and even a very corny Bluetooth adapter I wonder if the HD515 could be modded likewise.
It would be a great addition to the digital piano.
i have a t50rp at home, and i found a listing for a 6xx shell. which one would you think be a more worthy project?
As I primarily only have 110mm pads, I copied and cobbled together this in a couple hours in fusion 360, a blatant ripoff of a certain yet to be released headphone, and using a 50mm peerless driver. Here are a handful of pads that I frequently swap between while trying new drivers. Each pad was tested by removing and replacing the headphone on the measurement rig 3 times, and then averaged.
My Hifiman HE400se is in bright green as a baseline to extrapolate from.
At present, I recommend the hybrid mesh pads as they drop the bass hump from most drivers and have a larger inner diameter. This applies to the HM5 style version as well. But if one can find the standard velour with the larger inner diameter, those are good for pad swaps all around usually. Aliex links posted in a comment below.
The print quality on the enlosure is abysmal, and that's on me for printing after flashing new firmware and getting my settings messed up. But this enclosure is a one off anyway, so please ignore that atm.
I had my Marshall major III headphones for almost four years and recently it stopped working, the lights wasn't showing any signs of charging. While plugged in, it made the on sound then quickly the off sound plays after. I had a WAB headphones that had a broken frame so I used most of it's parts for the Marshall's. Behold the resurrection of the undead headphones!
I just replaced the cable on my dt770's and my right ear is still not working, I was pretty convinced it was a cable issue because my son would grab the plugged in cable and jump holding it, lol. Not sure what to do, do I need to replace the right driver? Are they just dead, is there somewhere i can send it in for cheap?
Hey, I just wanted to asked if anyone knows if there is a tightening band for the hello kitty razor head phones? Mine are way too big on my head but I love them :(
