I have a 2013 MK7 with 105k miles on the clock.
I was out driving with no issues, parked up, and when I came back to the car half an hour later the engine won’t start and the ESC, TPMS and ‘Fault: Electric Parking Brake’ warning lights came on.
Could this be a faulty battery? I had it replaced by the dealer when I bought the car last July, but he probably used a second hand battery. The terminals look fairly corroded.
Any idea what this might be? Hoping it’s just the battery, as this would be a cheaper and easier fix than electrical issues.
Any help appreciated, thanks.
can someone help me find the cause to this? ive been looking all around and i have came to the conclusion that its the thermostat or water pump. Can someone verify this or let me know whats actually wrong pls pls

I have unscrewed the T25 bolts and I can’t get the clips undone.
Tried using a flat head to unclip them, tried hitting the top of it while pulling, tried pulling with all my might.
I’m about to actually rip this off and break every clip and order a new one im losing my mind. Please help.

Mjolnir got it's first taste of snow today. Not very much but it's something.

anyone try these? if so, how well does it work? curious how they compare vs the more standard rain/wind deflectors.
I was doing a buying inspection on a 2018 mk7.5 golf gti with 93km ( 57k miles ) and the mecanic told me i should be doing the timing chain soon. He told me he didn’t check it, but that around this mileage i should be doing it sooner than later. I did a bit of research and saw that this was more urgent on the mk6 gen. Should I consider doing it soon if i buy the car? Thanks
A few months ago I installed the 034 motorsports catch can with the PCV replacement on my 2010 GTI. I noticed some oil leaking and tried to find the source of it. It appears to be coming from the turbo area. I checked the catch can, and while it wasn’t full, it did have a milky substance along with water which is expected in the winter. I emptied the catch can and a few days later it was almost full again. I’m thinking the oil leak is actually from the catch can filling up and it pushing the oil back to the PCV system and into the intake does anyone know how to test to see if the PCV is the issue? I could always put the stock one back on looking for some other options if possible or where else to look for the problem.
As the title suggests, I went to view this golf earlier.
When we lifted the bonnet to look at the engine, he had lifted it to show me that the chain was running smoothly, and it was. But there was something rattling / vibrating. Not a loud noise but something.
When driving everything sounded smooth.
I don't know anything about cars.
Is this suspect or am I over thinking?
The car is 2011 with 95k
Thank you
I’ll be traveling from North America to Europe later this year, and it had me thinking if there are any small European parts that I could bring back with me. Does anyone have any experience bringing parts back? I would love to get my hands on the low-profile rear headrests, for example.
Mk6 GTi electronics going crazy. I came home to find out that my cars hazard lights were flashing on their own and upon unlocking the car(leaving home lights didn't work weirdly) the turn signal refused to work when car had been started and also rear tailights the middle part didn't work for a bit now the headlights wouldn't turn off
So I bought the 2024 gti. And from the research I found prior to purchasing everything pointed towards extraction being the recommended method for changing the oil. But I’ve gone to a private shop and the vw dealership asking, and they both stated that vw recommends the classic method of draining.
