I have a 2024 GLI and was just wondering if there was any particular USB cord that would be better to use in the car. I have an android if that makes any difference
I have had this IE turbo inlet pipe installed on my 21 since spring sometime 22 and Ive noticed that everytime I take off my intake (IE) there would be a small puddle of some sort of fluid inside the elbow.
After reading about the PCV issue the mk7 has https://www.golfmk7.com/forums/index.php?threads/understanding-the-mk7-pcv-function-retrofitting-the-mk8-pcv-and-why-catch-cans-are-bullshit-imo.429130/ and after swapping my intercooler (pain in the ass) I noticed a little bit of juice coming out the outlet. Ive tracked the car a few times and I've never had any issues with puffs of smoke, at least no one has told me about any smoke, but with this much juice I figured I would swap back to stock.
If you have a turbo inlet pipe you might want to check your inlet and probably reinstall the OEM one. If you are thinking about an inlet pipe I would not recommend it. Only thing I noticed it did was make the turbo blowoff noise quieter.
edit: read the link you muffins the pcv issue with aftermarket inlets is real
Itβs a little bit colder today by about 7c than it was in my previous post so a few pops here and there
My Gli with Camaro π
In the market for the new jetta gli and I am at an impasse with color selection. I like the whole range (with blue, white, and red at top) and wanted to get some recommendations from yall.
A GLI on the run. Hear this amplified sound, soo delicious π₯° (GLI 2025) I might do a longer video next time on a highway. Cuz in a city itβs kinda wtv
Went to go do my 1k mile oil change and discovered that the plug is plastic and single use. Any of you guys use the metal brass one instead of plastic single use?
What lowering springs would be the best for a 2019 GLI S? I want about a .5' - 1' drop, but don't want to ruin my ride quality and suffer with an overly stiff ride. Anything that is a little stiffer is fine, but would still like to retain the 'floaty' feeling the car has on smooth roads.
Hey yall,
I have a 2024 Jetta GLI and I am not a huge fan of the sound system. It is ok and thats about it. I keep seeing people say the fender profile will make the GLI sound system better, but also have seen others with later models say that it was already set to the fender profile. Im debating on buying a OBD2 sensor and changing it, but I wanna make sure I am not just wasting my money. Does anyone else know if the newer models already have it set?
Thanks yall.
Iβve had my GLI for a bit over a year and itβs the first time Iβve gotten to park next to a sibling in the wild.
I like the contrast the white brings out as I donβt really get to see it with my black paint but man does Kings Red have my heart. The Darth Vader look is pretty mean though.
i just got the 2024 jetta gli brand new :P hella excited
Whatβs the best all around drive mode to cruise on?
Went to start my car after coming out of the bank and it started fine, then after 10-15 seconds of idling it spat and sputtered down to roughly 200rpm and died out. It started up afterwards and has ran and started fine since. No lights or codes, fresh plugs and coils 7k ago Stock 2019 GLI 6MT
Really wanted to stick with the GLI ones but they just donβt go far enough under the pedal. Carpet was already taking a beating in 2 weeks of ownership.
I just got a 2025 manual GLI and it seems really bouncy when driving over bumps at low speeds. I tried the different DCC settings and don't notice much difference. This replaced a 2019 manual Jetta S which didn't have the same problem. Is this normal?
From a quick Google search it seems like the shipping pucks could be inside the strut boot? I haven't been able to lift it yet, but from looking at the car the front has much more clearance between the tire and wheel well than the back.
Update:
It was the pucks! I was finally able to lift my car and found these 6 beauties. 3 on each of the front struts underneath the boot. The suspension feels 1,000x better and the car sits lower in the front. I hope there aren't any in the rear, because it looks like you have to cut a zip tie to check it out.
How are the rattles on the 25βs? Any better than previous years? I have a 20 and the rattles are ridiculously bad.
Anyone got any idea about this sound
Yoβ¦ do you guys think since they are offing the Audi A4/S4 this year that they might make an R-330hp-GLI variant β¦
Wishful thinkingβ¦
Ok has this ever happened to anyone else. '23 Autobahn 6sp manual electronic e-brake disengaged by itself and my baby rolled while I was in the store. Yes I definitely put it on, always do and listened to them engage. Had '21 R-line 6sp manual before this.
Especially regarding the marked area where my leg rests. I've sat in one and it was fine, but you just don't know until about 45 minutes if the console will dig into your leg.
Anybody use a spoiler besides spoiler king or ecs tuning that they like for their mk7-mk7.5. Looking to get a new one
Hey all,
I'm going to be starting a new job adding around the beginning of the year. My current car is a 15 Ford Escape with the 2.0 EcoBoost. The thing guzzles gas like crazy, only averaging 20 mpg. Our Odyssey can with the V6 does better. Main reason I've kept it is that it's paid off. Extra gas is cheaper than a car payment.
At any rate, my commute is going to change from mostly constant speed highway to more slow and go with some low traffic stretches.
I test drove the 25 Jetta GLI with 6M and I liked it a lot. I hadn't driven a stick since 2009, but it felt like riding a bike. Once I got back in the groove, it was a fun little car.
However, I don't have any experience with VW. Quality and reliability seem to be hit or miss. Seems like people either love them or hate them.
The dealer I'm looking at buying from includes a 20yr/200m mi engine warranty at long as all the maintenance work is done and records are kept. Don't have to do the maintenance at the dealership.
I'm sorta considering the Civic Si and the Integra for the manuals, but the Jetta seems to be the most practical out of those.
I'm also considering a couple hybrids. I'm looking at a 25 Accord and a 25 RAV4. Both are comparably priced and get better mileage, which could be better for the commute. But the Jetta has the fun factor of the stick.
I live in Maryland, so we can get cold in the winter but it can vary greatly each year. I'd probably get the plug to try to keep the engine warm in the winter. Premium gas is expensive here, usually averaging $1 or more per gallon than regular. I also drive around 20k-25k minutes miles per year.
So, what do you guys think? Would the Jetta be worth the risk, if would I be better off with an Accord or RAV4 hybrid?
I want to trade out my 18"Γ7.5" stock rims for 18Γ9 Will 225 45 18 tires work with these new rims without looking stupid.
I have 18Γ7.5 stock rims Wanting to upgrade with these 18Γ9". My tires are 225 45 18's Will all of this work witthout issue on my GLI?
