I’m upgrading my 40th edition sound system starting with the door speakers, looking on the Crutchfield website it says these speakers won’t fit, just wondering if there is any reason that is true or if anybody has any tips on installing them, thanks!
Should I be concerned?
Last night my dsg 24’ gli would not shift into park whatsoever. It’s like the shifter has ‘play’ in it or something. A transmission light popped on briefly. I am able to get the car from reverse to neutral and drive and back.
Anyone encounter this? I just had it dealership serviced. Am calling first thing Monday.
Does the new 7.75 still sport the Gen 3 engine? I know mk8 gti had the gen 4 a couple years now.
IE Stage 1 91 High Torque 268HP/321 Torque Stock 225HP/272 Torque
I recently purchased both an IE engine tune and a transmission tune, and I was curious to know how close the HP and torque gains would be to what they advertised on their site. I have a Stock 2023 Jetta GLI with a DSG nothing was done performance-wise. It was dyno'd on a Dyno Jet in 4th gear. We ran it 5 times and I have posted the charts showing the biggest difference between stock and tuned. Overall there is a noticeable increase over stock at every point however not to the extent of what IE showed.
I'm personally very happy with the tune and I will be tracking the gains I get over time as I add more modifications to the car. The car is a lot more fun to drive and I find myself smiling when driving a lot more than before. I was really curious and thought I should share this data with the rest of you here. Enjoy
A quick note that I found very interesting is that the stock tune got exactly the advertised 225 HP

Can anyone tell me specifically what the internals and block is made of in the 2.0l T engine that goes in the GLI jettas. I recently got a Fahrenheit edition and wondered if anyone knew anything that was different or thinks I should know. Thanks for your time.
I have '21 GLI Autobahn 6mt with 30k on her.. Is the 30k VW maintenance worth it? How many have done it? I recently changed the oil at the dealer 7k miles after I bought it so I have plenty of time on that. I plan on replacing the Hancooks soon. Clutch fluid? Brake pads?
Anyone had troubles getting the TCU tune to work through the app? It keeps failing at 10%. Stage 1 ECU worked perfectly fine.
Idk man I just love the way the rear end of these look.
Hey everyone,
I’m reaching out to see if anyone has experienced something similar. I had a persistent rattle on my 2022 Jetta GLI last year that many suggested was related to the fuel line. Oddly enough, the noise disappeared on its own and I got used to not hearing it at all.
Today, I got my tires rebalanced and filled to 38 PSI, and as soon as I left the shop, the rattle came back on the passenger side, as if it had never left. It’s bizarre that it returned right after the tire rebalancing.
Has anyone dealt with this issue before or have any idea what might be causing it? Could the rebalancing have triggered something?
Thanks in advance for any insights!

I'm 49 so this is coming from an old guy. I have a '21 Autobahn 6mt. Just watched a review of the '25 and the guy said the screen could be bigger. Why? I'm looking out the windshield not a screen. And the new one has that awful iPad. So glad my screen in embedded in the dash and doesn't dominate the dash. Just look at the newer WRX. ITS all screen. I love my Physical knob climate controls. I want to keep that car forever. I don't get how tech is the standard of what makes a good car. Where are my old guys. We're not dead yet!
What would be the easiest way to flash back to stock tune on my own? Would this work or is a COBB access port needed?
Will you guys let me know what 0W-20 oil out of Mobil 1 ESP X2 Full Synthetic 0W-20 and Liqui Moly Top Tec 6200 SAE 0W-20 is good for 2023 GLI. I live in Canada.
Recently bought a 2017 GLI (dsg)
Was bought from a used dealership, currently sitting at 84k KM and have zero idea what’s been done recently for maintenance. (I know it was dumb to buy it without service records please let that slide and help me out here I absolutely love this car)
Trying to find out what I should prioritize asap when it comes to maintenance, I’m looking to get new spark plugs in the next few days, carbon cleaning in the next few weeks (waiting for appointment), and finally both air filters. After that i’m honestly not sure what i should prioritize/be worried about.
I had the oil change, breaks, and tires done at the dealership alongside replacing a stud.
Side note, after 2 weeks of ownership ive noticed my car tends to shake a bit whilst in idle when the engine is warm (temp is 90c) it’s not super aggressive but it’s enough to notice whilst sitting in the car. Hoping it’s not a misfire but let me know what I should do first. Thanks!
Is there an easy fix for this or is this something I should see the dealership about, only 6k miles
I recently got a 2023 gli and have heard that new tires is the first mod you should do. Does anyone have any recommendations?
Does anyone have any information on when we will be able to tune on the mk 7.75 I’ve already done my exhaust and have an intake inlet and turbo muffler on the way my next step was going to be a down pipe and flex fuel but can’t find any company out there doing tunes or even having an idea of when they will be able to
Wondering if there’s any tricks to reinstalling the spring retainer clips? Having a hard time trying to understand how to get everything back together aside from the top clips.
Does the 2023 GLI have individual tire pressure like most new cars? I would like to see teh pressure of each tire especially in the winter time ?
Hey y’all, I’m looking to upgrade my current 18’ Jetta 1.4t to a 21 GLI. There is a 2021 Autobahn in my area with 28k miles for $18k with a DSG. But I’ve never had a manual and am really interested in a 2021 GLI S 6mt with 12k miles for $17k. I’m just looking for some input, I know how awesome the dsg is and how capable it is. I also know that if I tune this car (which I plan too) I will need to buy a clutch with the manual. Thanks for your input!
