Just got a 2018 R 76k miles. I absolutely love it but the transmission went out after owning for 2 days. Got that warranty to replace the transmission, hopefully everything is covered. I'd hate to give it up so soon

Looking for some recs between Unitronic, APR, EQT, and 034 - have heard that APR is kinda meh on performance compared to the others but I do like their warranty option with APR plus since the mk8 is still under vw warranty. EQT seems nice since you can flash different maps with the access port, I would love one with a flex fuel tune since the E85 I have around me is very hit or miss on ethanol content. Anyone have experience with any or all of the above and can weigh in?

Hi guys! Just got her few days ago, traded in my 2022 wrx with no regret. Winter is coming, so I am wondering that can I put my wrx winter tires(245/40R18）on my 2024 Golf R? I know the rim will not fit, But if the winter tires can fit, all i need to do is get a new set of rims for winter🥸

So I have a 2015 golf that has lately been having problems. I have taken it to the mechanic several times and it still shows the EPC,ENGINE and the sliding car light. I don’t know what to do now. I have changed all the plugs and it’s so embarrassing when it can’t pick up speed on a highway and I have to restart it after every bump because it’ll stop and reduce its speed back to zero. Can anyone help?

I have a 2014 mk7 r dsg. Recently I have been hearing a metallic scraping noise under light load and only in the range of 1500-3000 rpm.

Kind of sounds like a knife sharpening and have been worried it’s something to do with the turbo. Does anyone else have an issue like this or can give me an idea as to what it is?

Gearbox service was done 6k miles ago and oil service was done only 1k miles ago and I’ve not owned the car for very long.

so switched to winter tires today and the shop selected winter? so dumb question when I swap them back in the spring where is the setting to do that? went through the menu's can't find the switch but could have sworn it was in the TPS settings before? now it just keeps telling me the numbers are good? lol is this a drive it a bit thing till it repopulates ?

Has anyone had an issue with auto high beams that work for a short period of time but just stop after auto turning off after passing/seeing another car?

I'd be on a pitch-black road, and they just won't turn back on. The icon shows the high beam with an A in it but stays white.

The brake dust from the stock pads is absolutely killing me. I'm looking for a set of ceramic pads, but despite the car being out for nearly 3 years at this point, I'm not finding many options. The only pad I can find is the RedStuff. Are there other ceramic pad options available for front and rear?

As well, it bothers me way more than it should that the front and rear rotors don't "match", and am having trouble finding a drilled rear rotor. Does that exist for the MK8?

Changed from a Ford Fiesta to the 8.5 Black Edition. The first hour ridding arround has been amazing. Cant wait to see what it can do after ive broken it in properly.

I have a 2017 golf r and I bought the holy sap short shifter (I think that’s what it’s called) I installed it probably around February. Anyways my shifter is sticking when I throw it over near 5th and 6th. It’s fine going into gears just getting it over there is sticky and weird I’ve never had this issue before does anyone know how to fix it

Has anyone here had problems. With this shit paint job? Mine. Came with a ceramic coating that has also been a pain in the ass. I've got Multiple chips all over the car And only have 10,000 miles on it. My 16 GTI has 83,000 miles and not one rock chip. I live in Denver and I'm super careful about trucks and other cars with tires that could throw rocks. I've had VW touch up the first couple that happened in weird places but it almost looks worse. By the way it lapis blue if that makes any difference. It looks like VW put on a primer and one coat. Anyway, anyone else experienced this?

I did the worst thing yesterday and posted on a thread that my Pretoria’s have been good so far - so today I was cleaning them for winter storage and found this crack…. definitely jinxed myself. Has anyone had experience getting something like this fixed ?? How much did it cost?

I live in Seattle and plan on taking it up to the mountains for some snowboarding trips this winter. Any recommendations would be appreciated! - Not immensely worried about cost but if I can find some used/ cheaper wheels online or on FB marketplace not against saving money.
