I live in Grinnell and need a referral to a cardiologist to discuss a high coronary artery calcium score. Do folks have any recommendations for doctors in the DSM area? I could also go to Iowa City, but thought I'd start looking in DSM.
I have a tentative appointment set up with Matthew McCormick of Iowa Heart.
Thanks.
Now let's run through the finish. No slow down, no let up. Vote like your rights or the rights of your friends and family depend on it, because they do!
I have a bunch of empty Ito En Sencha Shot tea cans that are made of steel. Does anyone know where these cans would be accepted for recycling in the Des Moines area? TIA!
Any information? Seen a lot of smoke at this place when I was driving by.
Not sure if you are following this, but the university of Iowa hospitals decided to pay a private group of doctors 280 million to acquire their practice. What’s your thoughts on this ? link
Why does everyone insist on driving 30-35 on NE14th?
The speed limit is 45 between Aurora and the interstate...you shouldn't look surprised when someone does 45 passed your slow ass.

Hi homies with ovaries!
I’m looking for a good modern obgyn who actually listens and is up to date on hrt and perimenopause- extra points if they know about pmdd! I’m in my early 30s and really struggling. I have **state insurance/molina ^^’ plus if they’re within mercy one. Thanks!
How much are you guys paying for a egress? The materials are less than 2k but I got a quote for 4.8k is that normal? I’ve seen people from other towns paying closer to 3k
Does anybody in here live at CSL or have you lived at CSL? Curious as to what peoples thoughts are.
Any good ice cream shops that have cherries? 🍒
Just noticed Casey's is rebuilding their E 14th and Broadway location. I'm kinda surprised i didn't hear anything about it from any local news outlet because that location was technically the first ever Casey's. Yes the first official one was in Boone, but one of the company's co-founders leased the E 14th & Broadway building that was owned by his father and converted it from a service station to a gas station and convenience store about nine years prior to the Boone store.
Does anyone know where I can find a döner kebab? Or have any recommendations for as close to one as possible.
So 99% of the time anymore, when one has a truly legitimate complaint it falls on deaf ears. I am not one to complain, however a situation at a Casey’s store just witnessed was appalling.
Back in the kitchen, 2 high school aged males singing loudly some song about Colt 45 and KKK, while the other 2 employees back there working hard making pizzas were older African American women. These boys didn’t even react to my death glare and head motion that said “are you even fucking kidding me?” I look at the cashier and said “wow”. No response. This wasn’t a happy sing-along, Their women co-workers looked clearly annoyed
Anyone have a contact at Casey’s that actually truly gives a shit I can contact? This was disgusting behavior.
I crave going out to have a few drinks after work on Fridays, but everyone I know is married or already hooked up and just doesn't go out or are more introverted and don't want to. Are there places in the metro where a lot of people go to hang out after work? I don't care what age group or what the vibe is. It feels like I have to be out with a group of other women for it to be "okay" to be out and about by myself. Or people only go out at midnight drunk off their ass to hook up. Bleh. I mean drunk - fine. hook up - fine. Midnight - fine. Just not all three at once - too much disaster. Or even just a place where the bartenders are friendly? I HATE being home on a perfectly lovely Friday night! (Yes, I'm prepared for the Outer Limits, Turkish Baths or the Windsor Heights DQ crap.)
I received tickets to a show this weekend and it's been a looong time since I've last been there.
Last time I went, you could bring Starbucks in because it was located underneath. Is that still allowed even though it moved across the street?
If not, should I bring my DMPA cup?
TIA!
As the title implies, share your favorite street name from Des Moines or suburb, why is it your favorite?
I'll start - big fan of Merklin Way.
Just a weird little street, and the name makes me think of the wizard Merlin if he were a goblin.
I know I’m a huge stick in the mud but I’m curious. Is today a special day for people to get high and walk around? I’ve been around at least a half dozen people today who reek of the worst weed and I don’t know if it’s a coincidence or not.
I’ve been out twice and between I-35 near Ankeny and farther south in town I’ve counted at least 10 traffic stops plus like 5 cars all in different locations. Apparently they missed quotas so are getting a head start this month. Stay safe out there.
I barely just saw them. Not even exactly sure that’s what they were. Does anyone know if ISU is having a homecoming flyover tomorrow?
Definitely cooler and chances of rain this weekend but there still is a lot of fun to be had in the DSM Metro! Below are just a few things I thought sounded fun. If you have anything else you would like to share or invite people to please add it in the comments!

Been craving sooooo bad a chicken cutlet sandwich in the metro. Pesto, peppers, mozzarella, marinara, whatever. Just wanting a fried cutlet sandwich from somewhere in the metro. No luck searching online for a place to get something like this. Local deli's don't seem to have any options.
Anyone had a place they like for something like this?

Hello, I'm getting into Pathfinder 2e and I was wondering if there were any Pathfinder groups in the Des Moines area that are looking for either a player or a DM.
If nobody has a group started, I could also make one and do an Adventure Path. If anyone's interested in doing that, send me a DM.
