Relocated from Chicago about a month ago and was curious to hear your guys’s take on this. I’m 22, and since I got here I’ve been a little slow making friends my age. Started a full time job this week and it seems everyone around my age range seems to already be married with kids??

I’ve had little back and forths with employees at gas stations, vape shops, etc when I first got here who seem around my age too, and they would also slip in the fact they had kids in the conversation. I don’t know if this is just isolated to my unique experience or if people here generally settle down earlier, but I’m starting to think that might be a factor in the disconnect between me and others my age here.

I think only one or two people in my high school class have gotten married, and one of those were a saving yourself for marriage type. Back in Chicago this might have been a class difference thing, but even then I lived in a not great part of the city and didn’t know anyone my age with kids either.

Also, still getting used to calling cupholders “drink carriers” lol.
