I’ve heard that the Iowa City Wig and Pen is no longer associated with the mothership in Coralville. What’s the story on that?

We’re visiting IC and we noticed that our T-Mobile phones are nearly useless here. We’ve around downtown and campus and it’s really frustrating how little service there is. And I don’t think the game has anything to do with it because this is our third trip and it happens every time.

Tons of sirens going down north liberty to Coralville along 965 right now. Anybody know what’s up? Sounds like a lot of fire trucks.

Someone came through last night and cleaned my street out. It seems like their were targeting Pride and Harris signs, but they also took or broke a decent number of Bohannan signs.

We have spoken with others in the weber neighborhood, and it seems like 30+ signs were stolen from at least four different areas. The truck was caught on a neighbor's blink camera, but no license plate. If you have any information, DM me.

I was just at the mall now, and all of the fire alarms were going off in every store. Someone said that somebody pulled a fire alarm, but then all of the businesses started closing their gates and shutting down. The parking lot is even worse than normal with everybody, leaving the mall at once.

I looked for sticks poking out of lawns to return them but I didn't see any, so I had no idea where to return them to. But they were getting ruined on the road so I picked them up

Just a heads up for anyone that hasn't voted yet. I went to the Administrative Building today to vote and it was running like a well-oiled machine. The light for left turn leaving the coral ridge mall at 5:30pm between 25th Ave and US6 is only green for 3 seconds total. I’m not exaggerating. Enough for maybe 2 cars to get through. There is a long line backing into the mall because of this... Anyone know who to contact regarding this?

This Sunday, November 3rd, join the Iowa capoeira community for an open roda, hosted by Corridor Capoeira in North Liberty. The event is free, and everyone is welcome—whether you're familiar with capoeira or just curious to see it firsthand.

What is Capoeira?
Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian art form that combines dance, martial arts, and music. Developed over 500 years ago in Brazil as a form of cultural resistance, capoeira today is practiced worldwide, blending movement, rhythm, and strategy in a dynamic, music-driven game.

What is a "Roda"?
The roda (Portuguese for "circle") is where capoeira is played. Participants form a circle, with players in the center engaging in the game, accompanied by the bateria (the group of musicians providing rhythm).

What should I bring?
Wear comfortable clothing you can move in, and bring water to stay hydrated.

What to Expect
We’ll begin with a warm-up and some practice on capoeira movements and techniques, followed by 60-90 minutes of live roda. Whether you want to watch, join in, or learn more, everyone is welcome.

As title says, I am looking for a group to join in the Iowa City area. I've been part of a long D&D standing group these last 10+ years that i left last year due to traveling requirements (1+ hr) and am looking to get back into something closer. I have experience in a lot of game systems (started out in 3.5/Eberron, jumped to Pathfinder, then Pathfinder 2) so can play whatever.
