So ive had these for years and years tucked away im sure from my grandparents or something. Wish they were worth something now adays 😅
They say (winter-spring 1991-1992) on them. I dont know why I keep them...
Hopefully the title sums it up. I attempted to google the answer and get a million different answers. Some say trade school, some say to not bother and just try to be an apprentice? A lot of advice is from older people that may not quite get how getting jobs work in the modern day.
Any actual electricians that have some real local advice on how to get started?
Good greenhouse for pepper, and tomato plants ?
I’m struggling with tipping. I fully embraced tipping heavily during Covid. When I ordered take out (meals), I started adding 20% tip. Prior to Covid, I didn’t generally tip for takeout.
It became widely discussed when people were hurting, that somebody had to package up that food, rng up the tab, process the payment and give you the food. For that, it was said, they should get a tip. I agreed and tipped the requisite 20%.
Now, of course, every place that runs any type of transaction is looking for a tip. I’ve complied and continued to tip 20%. Last week I visited local coffee shop, and tipped 20%. It wasn’t until I was leaving that I realized that: I stood at a counter, placed my order, stepped a few feet away, waited for my order, walked my order to my table, ate, bussed my own table, sorting the silverware cups plates, trash, etc., before I left.
It was that point that my tip seemed ridiculous. I literally tipped somebody 20% of a $16 bill to punch in my order and pivot a screen toward me for payment. What have they really done for me? I know a tip is supposed to be an additional gratuity for service.
I know I’ll feel like a jerk, but I’m really considering stopping tipping when I’m the one doing all the work. Isn’t it reasonable for these businesses to raise their prices if they must in order to compensate their employees and not depend on the good hearts of the public?
Obviously I have some guilt about this or I wouldn’t be asking. I don’t want to short people who are doing good work, but for the most part, I’m deadline with cashiers, who are just running a register
Thoughts? How are y’all handling this?

Hey all,
My buddy and I recently started a band and we're looking for guitarists / bassists. We're looking to play hardcore inspired music. We're 18, but I've had almost six years of drumming experience, so if our ages are an issue, that's okay. If you're interested, feel free to reach out to message me. Cheers!
What Mexican restaurant has the best salsa in the QC? I love cilantro. Extra points for heavy cilantro salsa.
I've got a few friends that are coming into town on Thursday and we are trying to figure out a good place to meet up and play our game in person. We don't need a ton of space for maps or minis or anything like that, just a spot that can accommodate a group of 40 Year Old's and isn't extremely loud. Since Nerdspeak is closed and Fandoms isn't open Thursdays I'm lost since I'm kind of out of the loop on bars except for occasional trips to fill up growlers.
Hey y'all! I let my bushes go wild and need serious help. I'm looking to get some bushes and trees pruned for a reasonable cost. Can you guys recommend a person or a company?

Son was looking for this. Never had it myself.
I know that they're putting in a new dispensary right next to NTI,but I'm unsure of the company. Is this just Terrace getting closer to the comp?
I need help finding some services that are a bit more reliable than Riverbend to get me to work. especially one that’s accessible for the disabled. edit: I guess I forgot to mention it, but I’m 23 and I only make 11.50 an hour working 22 hours a week
Hi there!
Looking for any clubs, casual leagues, or events to meet others.
My husband and I love to golf, grab a coffee, check out breweries in the area…looking for more opportunities to meet others!
Appreciate any recommendations this group has. Thanks!
I hope you enjoy it lol, sorry for giving you the one kandi with a profanity on it
These stray kitties need a home/rescue/shelter! I have not been able to find any that are willing to take them in unfortunately so I hope you all can help me find someone!! They were left by my disabled neighbor after she moved so they are somewhat domestic and somewhat used to the outdoors since my neighbor left her door open for any and all stray cats. I took them in for TNR surgery and vaccinations Monday in case no shelter or rescue wants to take them in. And so far I have had no luck. Please help, I am willing to drive anywhere near the Quad Cities, Iowa, and Illinois to drop them off!
Anybody know some? I tried the consignment shop but there's nothing interesting or cheap there.
I'm looking from places in the QC or nearby areas like maybe Galesburg that has some decent Tobacco pipes as well as pipe tobacco. But it seems like the only things we have are cigars, and if you find Tobacco it's usually that cheap cardboard bulk Tobacco.
What are some plants you have, indoor or outdoor, that thrive in the midwestern climate? Are there any that love the heavy rain and humidity?
I'm more of an indoor plant person, but I'm transitioning to outdoor.
I moved to the QC recently for work and the person I'm renting from said I could start a garden. Are there any inexpensive tilling services in the area? He has hand tools, but I don't have enough time to do that kind of grueling labor with my full-time job. I see that Lowes and Home Depot rent tillers but they would not fit in my car.
Suggestions, anyone?
Are these two the best high-end custom home builders in the area? They seem to be the best-advertised at least. Any other builders we should be checking out? My impressions so far are that Windmiller has better planning but is cookie-cutter and uses lower-quality materials. Kerkhoff seems to use better materials but also seems a bit overpriced per sqft.
TIA
Any ideas on where to get a small neon sign repaired?
Looking for a place that sells metal stock, something with a little more variety than the hardware store rack.
Any musicians or karaoke lovers here, what establishments do open mics or karaoke nights regularly?
Got a coworker or an in-law who you can’t stand? Is your spouse a total idiot? A neighbor who you wish would go out for a pack of smokes and never come home? Is your roommate making you want to push them screaming from a helicopter?
Get it out. Dish it to us. Use real or fake names, doesn’t matter to me!
I'm (23F) looking for barber shop recommendations. Haven't had my hair cut in a shop in years so I'm reasonably nervous to go in. Just looking for a place that could ease my worries and give me a good cut, thanks!
Good morning!! Do you guys have any good recommendations for graduation party parks? All it needs is a place for people to sit and mingle and perhaps beautiful scenery for pics! Anything helps!!!!
So I've been doing DoorDash, Ubereats, and now Grubhub for about two years part time. It's extra money, not my primary income but still much appreciated.
How bad is our area? Is it getting worse?
My guess is that we are WILDLY over-saturated because I can sit for entire lunch or dinner shifts and get little to no orders. But I've seen plenty of other drivers out doing deliveries.
Is everyone in the area just scooping up ALL the orders regardless if they pay enough to cover gas? I don't get why I'm not even seeing as many bad orders now suddenly.
My acceptance rate on all three apps is like 20% or less because there have always been like 8 awful orders for every 2 good ones.
