My new build keeps freezing in the middle of games like marvel rival for seemingly no reason. I have a Ryzen 5 9600x and a rx 7600 xt. And all the graphic drivers are up to date. Any help would be appreciated.
I've got an i9 14900k processor and am upgrading my GPU to the RTX 5080 in due course.
According to the calculator on Corsair it says I should have a minimum of 1000w which was to be expected. Would this be sufficient or do you think it would be better to get a 1200w?
Its between a Corsair Rm1000x or a NZXT C1200 ATX 3.1 PSU.
What are your thoughts?
Building a pc for the first time and not sure how the airflow should be set up. Would appreciate any help with this.
My parts list is here: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Q36rYd. I've already bought the Suprim liquid gpu, cpu, and motherboard, and I already have a 1440p monitor.
Since it's a dual AIO and there are fans with the case, wondering if more fans are needed, and also how the intake vs exhaust should be set up. I've seen other posts with similar parts where they recommend the GPU radiator be set to exhaust, but not sure about the remaining setup.
Also, will all of this fit inside the Fractal North, or might the XL case be needed? Would also appreciate other recommendations or comments about the build if any. Thanks!
My ROG FLOW X16 started crapping out on me so I decided to build a PC. My main uses are both gaming and music production so I wanted a solid dedicated GPU as well as a processor that could handle the multithreaded tasks and CPU heavy plug ins that Ableton uses.
And so, Tandoori has been born Main Specs:
AMD Ryzen 9 5950X
Thermalright PS120SE CPU cooler
AMD Radeon 7800XT
32 GB of Corsair DDR4 Memory
2TB Silcon Power M2 SSD
LianLi Mid Case
Segotep 850W PSU
I don't have much knowledge in building / upgrading.
I bought an NZXT Foundation prebuilt pc during lockdown a few years ago, and it came with the Ryzen 5 5600g APU instead of a GPU.
I just bought a 4060 and I'm feeling pretty intimidated getting ready to put er in the pc. my prebuilt didn't come with extra cables for my PSU unfortunately so I had to buy one from my local tech store, it seems to fit fine in the 4060 but i'm not sure how interchangeable 8 pin PCIE cables are.
I haven't put the 4060 into the pc yet
My PSU is an XPG Core Reactor 80 gold,
sorry for lack of info / poor wording I really don't have much experience with hands on PC activities.
edit: typos
How can a system with the modern specs of a 16 core AMD 9950x and Samsung Evo 970 m.2 SSD take a whopping 1min 20sec just to get to the Windows logon screen? Could you imagine going back in time and telling someone on a PIII Coppermine that in the future we're going to have 16 core processors with boost clocks of almost 6GHz stock out of the box and ultra fast solid state drives and the bootup times are still going to be around a minute and a half?
System was built with the Microcenter bundle
MSI x870e Tomahawk (flashed to latest bios/Memory context restore enabled)
AMD 9950x
32GB G.Skill DDR5-6000 PC5-48000
Other than the Memory Context Restore setting in the bios is there any other setting that I could be missing to cause it to start up and get going so slow? It also seems to powering/spinning up the mechanical drives plugged into the Sata ports in sequence one at a time, is there maybe some power savings setting I might be overlooking that might be causing my slow system start up?
So, I have been looking to upgrade my PC for a while now, and got very useful tips from here on how to proceed. I would now like to consult the community once more, as I have made the decision to get a new complete rig, pre-owned.
I have been studying about builds for week+ or so, and watching some videos on what to look for when buying used parts/computers. I still feel a little insecure on the field.. I have no illusions of my level as pc builder, and feel like I could get bamboozled with some noob traps.
I am buying a build tomorrow, and I would like to know what I am doing when I go test the computer. I have read that there are some benchmarking programs, which I could download on a hard drive and bring with me. The seller agreed for me to bring my own tests, with no arguments whatsoever.
What would be such programs for my case?
and is there anything special or extra tricky I should look out for when examinating the build?
PC parts are:
CPU : Ryzen 5 7600 6 cores : 5.40ghz
RAM: Predator 16gb ddr5 6000mhz Cl32
GPU : Msi Ventus 3X rtx3080 10Gb OC
PSU: 850W gold plus Corsair Rm850X
Water cooling : Nzxt Kraken X62 Rgb 280mm aio
Wifi and bluetooth integrated.
MOBO: Asus Rog Strix B650E-F ddr5 Am5 Wifi
case : Deepcool CH560 DIGITAL WH - Mid Tower case, White
fans: 4x deepcool white argb 140mm, 2x 140mm nzxt
I would include a picture here if I could, also the price is 1050€ if someone finds that interesting
For the new upgrades of my PC, I was able to pick up a cheap used 3080ti Founders Edition.
However, the case I have is "be quiet! Silent Base 600" and it has the CPU (Ryzen 9800x3d) on top with a CPU cooler.
I have only now realized the interesting cooling design of the founders edition cards (i.e. blowing air out on top to the CPU fan). And then through the rear fan of the case.
Am I okay (it doesn't have to be the best), or should I really change the case or sth? I would really like to keep the case.
Hello!
I would like to build a PC based on an RTX 3070. I want to play Path of Exile 2 and World of Warcraft. I have an old Sata SSD, which I will use as well.
I opted for ATX with WiFi and the option to add more M2 and RAM if that makes sense in a few years.
Please help me with the PSU. Will it be sufficient or do I need a different one?
Also, please share your thoughts on the overall selection. I am not on a budget but will face major expenses in the second half of this year. I want to find a good balance between cost and value. Does the selection make sense?

So I don’t really use Reddit but I’m kinda out of ideas and could maybe use the help of someone smarter.
I put together a new budget build like 6 months ago and I instantly had issues due to faulty G.Skill TridentZ Neo DDR4-3600, 16x2, C16-19-19-39 1.35v kit. I got it replaced and received another faulty kit but I was dumb and only tested one of them so I had issues for a long time. I just got the replacement for that one, tested them with MemTest one at a time at factory speeds and got no errors for once. However as soon as I put them both in my fans spin like crazy and it tells me it was booted in safe mode. I go to BIOS, turn on DOCP and I get stuck in a boot loop. I just power off my PC from that and I’m back to square one. My PC boots fine if I turn off overclocking but using the profile to set it to 3600 Mhz causes issues, which is weird because the faulty kits worked overclocked. Well if you don’t count the fact that they were broken to begin with.
Anyways I was hoping someone could maybe assist me with this because at this point I have no clue what to do besides put my old Kingston HyperX Fury 8x2 sticks. At least they work overclocked lmao.
Idk what info I should even provide so just ask for more and I shall deliver to the best of my abilities.
My build right now consists of: Asus ROG Strix B550-F Gaming Seasonic GX-750 Ryzen 5 5600X PowerColor RX 7900 GRE And of course the dreaded G.Skill TridentZ Neo that I mentioned earlier
I am currently using a GTX 1070 ti and have been wanting to upgrade my GPU. I was looking at more budget options and found a used RTX 3070 for $250. I'm also looking at the RX 6750 XT but I can only find that for about $330. My only concern is the 3070 only has 8 GB of VRAM while the 6750 has 12 but I only really do 1080p gaming anyway so would this be fine and a good deal?
Hi guys, I built my build a few years ago when video cards were still not available and in fact I did not buy a video card. Now I think it's time to update my build and I was undecided whether to buy a 4060 or wait for the release of the 5060, do you think?
im just curious
Hello,
I have the following pc parts:
Is there a possibility to add the second 3090 Founders edition as I found it in a good deal for a second hand. Mainly , I am a software engineer and aiming to build AI workstation using my current setup without changing the hardware components for the moment. What I found after some research, the pcie 16 lane drops to x8/x8. For me it's okay as I will use only one ssd nvme as I have a dedicated NAS for storage.
Can the morhboard host two gpu with a proper planning in terms of airflow (of course without custom liquid)?
I tried to search someone have same build /MB but couldn't find...and started to worry about my investment. My time is 80-90 % workstation ML/AI and 10% gaming in the weekend.
Many thanks,
I'm trying to build a replacement rig since my gaming laptop died but I don't have the funds to go with a high end graphics card, so I was looking at purchasing a RTX 3060 12GB from Amazon for $299.99
My coworker(both of us in IT) is willing to sell me his RTX 2080 Super for $150. I trust that he's kept it in good order and he isn't trying to make any shady deals(he's one for updating often and as soon as he has the money for it), so I'm not worried about wear and tear so much as performance.
I'm someone who enjoyed playing PCVR on my Zephyrus M15 as well as PC Gaming in general, so I'd be up for his deal as long as the performance is comparable/superior to my gaming laptop. Any suggestions for the choice?
Here are links to the two models:
ok so i posted this before, but im reposting with more detail! i’m located in the US and want to get my bf a better keyboard for his birthday. he currently has a skytech keyboard and his WASD keys are practically melting off 😭 it’s a really shitty keyboard so i’m looking for an upgrade from that in terms of like comfortability.. i guess? i’m not sure. idk much about pc’s which is why i’m asking for some input. in terms of budget.. im open to something more expensive, but i think anything will be better than his cheap lil keyboard LOL.
I considering buying a used gaming pc on Facebook marketplace. I bought my last pc 6 years ago, so I need your thoughts on the PC.
These are the parts:
Motherboard: ROG Strix Z790E
CPU: i7-14700KF
RAM: G-skill trident z (7200MT/S, 32GB)
SSD: Samsung 990pro 1TB
GPU: Nvidia 4070super Founders edition
Cooler: NZXT Kraken elite 360 with LCD
PSU: NZXT C1200 (80+ gold 1200W)
Fans: Lian li TL LCD *7
Case: Lian li O11 vision
The PC is used for a year, and I don't think the seller is a scammer. The parts value cost around 2300$, and the seller is asking for 1700$. What do you think of the PC, and what things to consider when checking it?
I'm wanting to enable Eco Mode on my Ryzen 7950X3D & ASUS ROG STRIX B850-I (SFF case/toaster). I've been in the BIOS and searched Eco Mode and enabled the option for 105w, but that seems too simple. I've seen lots of chat about setting power limits manually etc.
Is there any way I can verify that it's working? I did see a slight reduction in temps, but it'd be good to check the power usage compared to stock. TIA!
The fans light up but I am unable to change the settings/color in armoury crate at least I have checked the ARGB connecter to the mobo and it's fine only thing I can think is the fan and rgb controller has something wrong, any tips? Also I bent the pins on one of the headers and it still somehow works fine lol
Does a motherboard have to be attached to the same metal as the power supply for grounding purposes? Could you have the power supply in a separate case than the motherboard and the only thing attaching the 2 is the wires from the power supply to the motherboard?
Context: I am building a a pc in a very compact spot, and don't have enough room for the power supply, so I wanted to build a separate box for the power supply and have the wires run through a tube to the motherboard. I didn't know if you had to have the motherboard and power supply mounted to a connecting piece of metal or could they be completely separate?
I am wondering if I can upgrade the GPU with a 4060. Should I buy a 4060 or is the 4060 going to cause a CPU bottleneck and buy a 3050 or a 2060 instead.
I have no idea where to start but I want to be able to upgrade it over time. I also have a tight budget of 500-600 right now.
Hey guys, I just finished picking out the parts for my first build, my budget is around 1300 dollars so I can splurge out a little more. Either way I was wondering if the parts I picked are good, anything helps

I will be playing KSP, valo and War Thunder on this in 1440p at 144-240hz so I hope its good enough for them.
I am thinking of purchasing a pre build, the below spec. I want this to last me as many years as possible hence the spec, but my main concern is the sound it will produce. I am limited by the options available on PC Specialists in the UK. Does anyone have any insight into how noisy it will be under load? I am not one to use headphones so would like it to be as quiet as possible.

I'm literally using a 22" Element tv from several years ago lol, max 60GHz😅 im gonna check FB marketplace etc. for local things that I might take a chance on or just try and find something in-store. is $100 too low to find something functional? I know most people spend more, I plan on using it for semi competitive gaming and my current monitor is prolly HELLA weighing the rest of my pc down lol.
if anyone has any brands I should/shouldn't look for before I make any mistakes please let me know! I know I'm aiming hella low on price but I'm also moving across the country here soon and I'm just trying to plan my next upgrade. preferably ~$100ish but if you've got something a bit above thats worth it shoot your shot! greatly appreciated! (also if anyone knows where to find a small CRT that'd be dope too for another project that'd be sick-)
if it matters: processor: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 16gb RAM NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060
idk whats relevant, I'm not nearly as savvy with this as I want to be so any help is appreciated!!
I’m trying to put together a list of parts to start buying, but this is the first time I’ve tried building a PC so I’m lost on how to ensure all the parts will work together. In particular on pcpartpicker it has a disclaimer saying “Some physical constraints are not checked, such as RAM clearance with CPU Coolers”. Trying to get any idea if this build will work or not. Any help would be appreciated! https://pcpartpicker.com/list/7XnqBq
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/p3DNgn
Howdy howdy! I'm rebuilding my computer and wanted to get a final check from you all before all the parts come in the mail and I rebuild it.
I last rebuilt in April 2020 with a Ryzen 5 3600 and RX 5600xt. Over time I moved to 1440p gaming and have struggled to maintain 100+ fps on most games not named Rocket League. For my rebuild, I'll be re-using the Case, SSD, Monitors, Mouse, Keyboard, & headset.
Use/Goals: Relatively demanding Shooters (the finals, marvel rivals) & Open World games like Palworld.
For this build, I went with:
Would you suggest any major changes / is there anything I'm forgetting?
Edit: After some ChatGPT work, it sounds like I have too many case fans for my Mobo. Would a PWM fan hub with SATA power work? If so, which would you recommend?
What GPUs would you recommend for the following system?
I'd like to run Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and some older games.
What options should I consider?
Hi - wanted to get the general opinion of the sub as I'm getting a bit of an upgrade itch and interested if some of y'all can slap some sense into me. I was closely watching the launch of the 50-series Nvidia cards and, like many of us, was disappointed in the benchmarks. That said, even if they were monster cards they're going to be out of stock for months or longer. With that in mind I'm thinking about upgrading most of my PC but still running my older GPU until some better GPU availability/options come into fruition.
Here's the current build:
Thinking about upgrading to something like:
Use case is mostly gaming, and some non-resource intensive tasks. Not running any AI inference applications or anything like that. I play a wide range of games from things like Warhammer 40k Darktide, to Marvel Rivals, excited for Civ 7, and some single player action RPG games like Ghost of Tsushima, God of War, and Spider-Man. I game at 1440p, would love high graphics settings but am fine lowering it to keep my 3070 alive. Main reason for upgrading the CPU and the supporting components are games like Civ 7 which will be quite taxing as well as emulating some older systems that tend to push my 5600x pretty hard.
On a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being Stephen Hawking and 10 being the village idiot, how stupid of an upgrade would this be? An acceptable response is just to say, "shut up and enjoy your PC!"
Thanks for the advice!
Hi,
I'm looking to build myself a secondary gaming rig for some very casual gaming while I'm back home away from my main PC at uni.
I've got an old RX 570 4GB that I used to have before I upgraded to the 3060ti I currently have. Being a cash strapped uni student, I was wondering if people reckon it'll be good enough for very casual games in 2025.
The main games I'll be playing are:
HOi4, War thunder, Fortnite, sea of thieves and Forza Horizon 5.
I'm not bothered massively about graphic settings, as I'll only be using this not too often throughout the year.
Also I was thinking about potentially making this into a cloud gaming rig, as my home wifi is kinda fast and only my parents will be using it for basic stuff like browsing facebook, whereas my uni accommodation wifi is not too fast and will be used by flatmates doing stuff like 4k video streaming and downloading large files and stuff.
I'm no stranger to overclocking this card, and have managed to get decent overclocking performance gains out of it in the past.
So would a RX 570 4GB be enough for this kind of gaming, or should I look at selling it and getting something used with a bit more kick in it.
