I saw a peahen (female peacock) on Forest Drive and SE 63rd at 6:55am this morning. It was walking westbound. It was large, 2 feet tall and mostly grey with no tail. I couldn’t believe my eyes, and I didn’t see it when I went back 20 minutes later.
4 police cars. Policemen all fully armed. Does anyone know what’s going on ?
Idk how many people have been following the Hellcat dude who finally got busted driving with excessive noise at 3am. Just got off work at around 930 and someone's doing laps around and around in a charger sans muffler on Bellevue square area. Wondering if it might be the same dude.
I am moving to the area with my fiance for the summer.
We want some good restaurant recommendations. Especially good food. All kinds.
We LOVE Italian, steakhouses, and good seafood! No budget we like good food😭😭😭
Nearly attacked this morning while running on the wide sidewalk area around Bellevue Downtown Park. Small skinny lady with a large yellow dog. Looking down at her phone not paying attention. I didn’t even notice the dog at first because it was so far extended on the leash it was all the way across the sidewalk and in the grass across from her. Noticed the situation and slowed down, but not before the dog lunged whilst snarling and snapping. Nearly knocked her over and she responded by yanking on the dog and yelling at it. Look - I own a dog. I love dogs. Extend-a-leashes are dangerous and a menace even with a well behaved dog. Train your dog or walk them on a short leash with a gentle lead. JFC people.
Hi there,
I recently moved to a townhouse and me and my family are not very happy living here. We are directly renting to the owner.
During the first night, we noticed how cold the townhouse was and how noisy the central heater is when it is on. It is very noisy everywhere, and it is at night when we need it the most, so this causes a lot of noise disruption. Also the heat doesn't really reach upstairs that much, just a tiny airflow, so it takes a while for the kid's bedroom to warm up.
On top of that, the kitchen cabinets have a very strong to food/spices that is not going away. We hired some professional cleaners but that didn't help.
I am considering an early termination of the lease even if I've been here for few days only.
I guess this means that I would lose the 1 month deposit. Right? I honestly didn't expect this amount of noise and how cold this place is.
I know I made a poor decision, but I was wondering if there's anything that can be done.
Thanks in advance

Has anyone been in the rad tech program at Bellevue college ? If so what time/day did the classes take time
Hello :)
I’m moving at the end of May and in a perfect world we would find a mother in law suite with access to a yard. I know I am probably dreaming but if you or anyone you know has one coming available in May feel free to message me! We are open to any areas surrounding Bellevue. It’s unlikely, but I’m hoping the power of Reddit will pull through for us!
Budget: $2000 Credit: 800+ Combine income: $100-110k No eviction or criminal history 2 quiet, late 20-somethings who like to host the occasional board game night 1 of the cutest dogs ever (~55lb)
An apartment is probably the more realistic option so if you have any suggestions leave them below. My partner and I are looking to move into a 1 or 2 bedroom budget is $2,000 (Ik it’s low for the area that’s why I’m hoping someone has a suggestion). We would really like to be able to walk to parks or trails to walk our dog. Even better if the complex has a dog park!
Our lease is up at the end of May but we could move sooner if we find the right fit.
Why were there so many white Teslas in the Eastgate/Factoria area this evening (4/10/34)? Was there some type of event or meetup? Just curious.
Hi good people,
For a work event, I am looking for a restaurant in Bellevue that can accommodate 30-35 people. I would to ask for your suggestions and any other feedback.
East coaster visiting in May looking for hotel advice. As they all seem to be relatively the same in terms of pricing, does anyone have any suggestions that might set one apart from the others? Traveling with a 19 year old; bar/lounge scene isn’t important but quirky/alternative/architecture interest is a plus. Here’s my list:
Any other suggestions welcome as well. Many thanks indeed!
Doe anyone know where I can find public outdoor basketball courts downtown? I just want to shoot around

Hi everyone!
Sorry about no new updates last week! I was swamped in work but we still got the newsletter out to our subscribers so do not forget to subscribe at our website and to get access to exclusive deals, https://seastside.beehiiv.com/. This week brought some interesting news and more events. Question of the week is what is your favorite ice cream shop in Bellevue? Respond below!
I opted for ambetter cascade select gold plan and paying ~350$ premium per month. My bad I didn’t properly check about the available in-network options prior to buying the insurance. When I reach out to the urgent care centers they show on the website, I was informed that my plan doesn’t cover their center. When I reached out to ambetter support they say there are no urgent care services available in the region for my plan and they don’t cover for anything outside network. Primary care provider says they can only book an appointment in June. Is this even legal? I don’t understand why I’m paying huge premium for this
Our family will be relocating back to the East side (eg Bellevue, Kirkland, Redmond) in 2025 and I am looking for private school options for my daughter who will be in year 4 in the 2025-2026 academic year. Any decent ones in this area that you recommend and hopefully do not require a test score in admission? We are ok to interviews.
I’m interested in meeting people to discuss Japanese culture (more on social and history side rather than pop culture), curious where I can find folks with that kind of interest? (Ps I’m an English speaker)
Anyone else have this man come up to your door today (4/8/24) around 9am?
He wasn't carrying anything (didn't seem like a solicitor) and kept his hands in the pockets of his sweatpants until he got to my door. He kept his head slightly down (as if to hide his face). Barely knocked on my front door with his right hand (didn't make much noise), and stood very close to the door listening for a minute before walking away.
Is there anyone that had a dashcam and recorded the accident in the intersection of NE 40th St and 148tn NE Ave on Sunday, 04/07/2024 at around 2PM?
The accident between a white Toyota Corolla Hybrid and an Audi. If you happened to be near by and had a dashcam, please let me know. Thanks!

I get that /r/Seattle is more liberal and /r/SeattleWA is more conservative and everyone needs to pick the one that suits their fancy, but it's pretty enraging for moderates.
Like /r/Seattle is basically about how Bruce Harrell sucks, the new moderate city council sucks, Amazon is sucking the life out of Seattle, how SPD is rotten to the core, and that crime/homelessness ain't that bad here.
Meanwhile, every post /r/SeattleWA is about 1) a crime, 2) how the criminal got away, or 3) if the criminal didn't get away, how the KC prosecutor will let them out in a day. It's basically an echo chamber of doomers.
Can we create a third Seattle sub, maybe??? Or I should just stick to my Eastside subs.
Any ideas why we have no lime scooters yet Bothell Redmond and Seattle do?
Hey y’all,
I was wondering if anyone could give suggestions for a tailor that can do alterations for non-dress pants and shirts that won’t cost more than rebuying. I lost some weight and now my clothes don’t fit. Any recommendations that won’t break the bank or should I just rebuy?
I recently got an internship in Bellevue near Bellevue way and I am looking for a place to stay from mid may to mid august. If anyone has a sublease they are looking to rent out please let me know! Also if anyone knows of good places to look at for staying for the summer on a short notice please let me know!
Everyone in Bellevue has a different answer to the question "Do we need to have AC to live in Seattle?".
Also it depends on nearness to sea probably. How do I know proactively that I need an AC when I move to a new place. Seattle looks north in the globe.
Do I need to visit people's homes to learn all these new things? Then if I visit friends house and see AC there I will also buy it.
Therefore isn't it important to go to friends houses to see what they have and how they live?
I'll be starting work in Kirkland at the end of this month, and I'm trying to choose if I should move to the Eastside or to Seattle. Since I won't have a car, I would need to rely on public transport for recreation (but I have commuting to work covered with other means) . I eliminated Kirkland (including downtown) bc I've heard it's all suburbs.
How's it like to live in downtown Bellevue without a car? Specifically asking about walkability (seems pretty high!) and access to public transport.
I'm wondering if public transport would be convenient to get to the "fun" places on the Eastside and to Seattle.
Thanks in advance!
We're relocating to Bellevue from another state, and with last-minute tasks piling up, we're feeling the pressure. Finding the right neighborhood is crucial with two elementary school-age kids. We're considering buying or renting in the area and have heard about Somerset Elementary. Some parents describe it as a 'pressure cooker,' while others praise it. Can anyone please give us some firsthand experiences or insights to help us gauge the vibe there?
Additionally, we've heard about Spiritridge Elementary's recent consolidation. How has this change impacted the school? Is it still a viable option and a good elementary? Also, greatly appreciate any other elementary school recommendations in Bellevue. Thanks so much for any advice or suggestions!
I’ve seen a lot of lists and recommendations for best/fine dining restaurants in Seattle (Canlis, Altura, Pink Door, Spinasse, Tomo, etc) but are there restaurants of similar caliber on the eastside?
ETA: removed Herbfarm, didn’t realize it wasn’t in Seattle
