Baskin Robins

BR’s Banana Royal is my fav treat (other than AW frosty). I was very disappointed when I moved here n found out there is no BR in WA. Yesterday I was in BC and I found one. Banana Royal with Mango ice cream n pineapple coconut ice cream, lots of hot fudge. Yum yum.

Want to help me organize a jigsaw puzzles group?

I've organized groups by myself before and haven't been very good at it because I'm not good at the social stuff. I'm thinking we can do this (via Meetup?) on a weekly basis at a local eatery/café.

Adult Figure Skating?

I’ve always wanted to learn figure skating but growing up it was never an option. I see the Sportsplex offers adult lessons. Has anyone taken them and if so did you have a good experience?

Your opinion on photography

I would like to continue my photography journey and need your help. I am living in Bellingham for a year now and really loving this town. I want to capture Bellingham to share it with the world of its beauty. How/what would you describe Bellingham in photos? Any place/buildings/scene/culture that screams Bellingham to you?

Best Wedding and Engagement photographer in Bellingham?

Hi all,

Pretty much what the title says. I'm getting married August 2026 and I plan to get engagement photos done in May of 2025.

I'd love to have my engagement and wedding photos done by the same person, our budget for photography is 3k-4k. Do y'all have any recommendations??

Happy Solstice, Bellingham!

We are half way through the darkest time of the year. Sunrise brings the first day of winter but it also brings the promise that each day will be slightly longer than the last, for the next six months.

Colder weather is coming. Most days will be heavy and gray, but the sun will sometimes break through. I hope you can get outside and enjoy the light when it’s here, and find silver linings in the clouds when it’s not.

The darkness can be overbearing. If this is a difficult time of year for you, know that you are not as alone as you may feel. You are loved and appreciated. Yes, you!

I struggle, too. Getting outside and taking a walk helps me. Rain or shine, I like to spot animals, note changes in plants, and give people a friendly “hello”. I dance inside when people say “hello” back. Could this help you, too? What’s your favorite way of combating darkness?

For those of you who live for winter, your season is here! I hope you find snow and play to your heart’s content! I hope the snow pack is deep this year and that you are able to ski, snowboard, snowshoe, and sled late into the season. Build a little snow dude for me!

To everyone, HAPPY WINTER SOLSTICE! ☀️

Early 2000's Lakeway Fred Meyer

Does anyone remember what the store was like back then? I got to talking about it with my daughter. I was telling her how it felt so dark and depressing before it got a major remodel (probably 3-4 remodels ago) but I'm also feeling kind of nostalgic about it now and trying to remember the details.

Where have all the good (bingerbread) men gone

My wife is a gingerbread fan, a little freak over those spiced fellas. So imagine my dismay when I hit up the grocery store and can't find a single bag of mix. I guess the pre-made Pillsbury squares are acceptable, but even then I've only found one example of the off brand stuff. Does anyone know where I could find some damn gingerbread cookie mix in this town?? I want to bake with my wife, confound it

Good news, everyone! We have some new mods added.

I've added /u/gamay_noir and /u/betsyodonovan as co-mods. We're hoping to do a better job of managing YOUR subreddit and keep posts/comments withing rules. As always though, we primarily rely upon user reports as we can't monitor every post and its comment threads. I hope this a step to a better /r/Bellingham. Feel free to hit us/me with questions or concerns and we'll do our best to address them. I personally appreciate all of your patience.

Anyone else having security deposit problems with PURE Property Management?

I moved out of a rental I had with PURE a couple of months ago, and still haven't received my deposit back. I know that state law requires 30 days for a landlord to get a deposit back to you, otherwise they owe you the whole thing. When I confronted them about this they claimed that their entire office apparently quit in October, and they've been trying to get everyone their deposits back. However, its been weeks since they told me this. I'm starting to think it might be some gimmick that they pull in hopes that people will just forget about their deposits. I thought I'd post on here to see if anyone else is having the same issue.

Clean Air HVAC

Considering these guys to install a new furnace. Very competitive on price. I want to know your experiences! They seem like they will do a good install.

KaktusBlue Charm Bar

Has anybody been to any of the KaktusBlue Charm Bar pop ups that have been happening? The last one is tomorrow and I was thinking of going.

If you’ve been, what’s the price of making a bracelet or necklace? I imagine it depends on the charms, but like what’s a good guesstimate? I looked through their shop to gauge what the price would be, but I’m also wondering if there’s any upcharge or deals going on

Door Dash Thief

Last night I ordered door dash and I heard the delivery guy come up the stairs, so I looked out the peephole to make sure he was gone before I grabbed my food (I do this every time lol) and I WATCHED HIM SWIPE a package off my neighbors doorstep!!!!! I stood there in shock for 5 seconds probably before I moved (I’ve never seen anything like this). My neighbors contacted the police already and I tried to report it through door dash (still in the process of figuring it out). All I know was the dashers name, which is Michael. I can’t believe people are so bold and crazy to just steal something. My neighbors had two packages on their doorstep and I only saw the guy steal one which means HE CAME BACK and grabbed it. Wanted to make a post to see if anyone else had anything similar happen in the last few days and also to warn anyone ordering door dash when they or their neighbors have packages outside. Definitely getting a ring camera now. I hate people sometimes.

I almost bumped into someone while walking out of my apartment building.

They said, Oh my God! In a mad way.

Most confrontation I've had in years.

Mild and landlord's responsibility

I've been battling a mold explosion at my apartment the past month. It has gotten on my furniture, clothes, the wool rug I'm borrowing from a friend :( , cabinets, etc.

I've spent about 25 hours cleaning it all with mold killer products and around $300.

I want to get reimbursed from my landlord. And I want him to have someone come and inspect the apartment and treat anything they feel needs to be.

What is my landlords legal responsibility in this matter? Is there somewhere I can find what he legally has to do?

Civic Athletic Plan Complex Master Plan - more artificial turf?

Am I in the minority when it comes to a very strong preference for natural fields? It seems our city and school district continue to march towards replacement of our grass fields with plastic every chance they get. Some be surprised to learn that natural fields can be designed to have proper drainage and withstand the rigors of people running around on them. I understand the appeal of a lower maintenance design, but we're already getting to the point that many kids will have grown up never having played (sports or otherwise) on a nice well kept grassy field. It's a cryin' shame!

More details on the plan (which overall seems pretty good): https://engagebellingham.org/civic-athletic-complex
