As of today according to the Herald. 70,000 votes have been cast, the bulk of the county’s ballots have come from its older population, with 55% of votes that have been cast so far coming from people over the age of 55. The 18 to 34 demographic, on the other hand, is responsible for 16% of the ballots cast so far.
First of the day - 😬😳 they started EARLY this year!
I am looking to get a good pair of boots made but was looking for a made pair not store bought. I want to buy local but if you have another suggestion that fits I'm willing to compromise.
And I am also seeing if there is anyone who knows a hatter. I am looking to get a Doc Holiday style hat done, but like the shoes I'd like to support local.
Local is anywhere that's driving distance really, probably keeping to Washington.
Be careful! Kids, teens, people (idk who) are out there stealing candy buckets off porches in the Roosevelt neighborhood :( makes me not want to put out more candy :/ please tell your family members leaving the house tonight to respect people a little more tonight! Happy Halloween and have a safe night <3
Xfinity screwed up my bill and refuses to fix it plus they've had multiple issues giving me reliable service so I'm looking at different Internet providers
Looked at Centurylink there is no way in hell I'm paying 60 bucks plus a $50 deposit for 1.5 megabytes per second
Looked at pogozone they seem decent and I have a appointment with them to see what kind of service they can provide hoping it will at least be 50 MBs or more
I'm also considering starlink don't really want to take bandwidth away from people that need it but that's the only other decent service I can see in my area. Fiber providers won't touch my apartment even though it runs right in the neighborhood
I wish there was more Internet providers in the city. Right now I'm stuck using my phone's hotspot
My squad made a team on the parks and rec city league but as far as I can tell no courts exist in town to rent out, and an hour a week doesn't sate our appetite for Ball!! Any ideas or other options? We have a net but it's supposed to be for grass/sand, and needs to be staked in. Thanks y'all!
We recently had our Volvo XC90 into Bruce Cox. They told us we would need over $5600 worth of work, the biggest being the right front axle. We were ready to roll this car into the lake. Had someone else look at it and come to find out it wasn’t the axle. It was a loose bolt. I am so frustrated that they tried to take advantage. Taking a car into a shop is a vulnerable situation. Not all of us know cars. Just wanted to give others the heads up that a second opinion might be a good move.
Is anyone aware of places that will be open election night and watching the results that will be open to minors? I called the Hotel Leo and their party is 21+. A specific election watch party would be great, but I'm also open to something like a brewpub or restaurant with TVs where minors are allowed and they don't mind if we sit around for hours watching. Any ideas?
Edit: I saw on the event page that the Hotel Leo party is all ages so I emailed the organizer—turns out they are all ages after all.
Hi! My birthday is this up coming weekend. My Father-in-law wants to take us out for dinner but I am having a really hard time deciding where. I don't want to do something super spendy but something still nice.
Some of our favorite places are Kuru Kuru, Black Cat, Nicki's Bella Marina, and Bayou on the Bay.
What are some of your favorite restaurants?
I have been seeing the folks at Natural Way chiropractic care for about a year now, and it's definitely not a cure all, but I have had so many of my health issues alleviated from their care. The staff is very kind and flexible, and I feel very accommodated as a disabled person!
I know it's not for everyone, but it's been great for me!
Im just gonna be home unless there's events happening but i haven't heard if any!
I'm looking for Spotify Car Things to tinker with if any of you fine folks have one that you don't want I'd be happy to take it off your hands!
Hi guys! I’m needing a place to stay, not urgently, but soon.
I’d like to try to find people who already have a place and are searching for a roommate, but I was unsure where to look.
I’d also be open to subletting or renting myself, but it’s really hard to find cheap rent in or around the city. If you or anyone you know is looking for a roommate, or know of anywhere that offers cheap rent, please let me know and I’ll pm you for more info.
A little about me to make it easier: I’m 20 years old, I’m a full time student and I’m working. Gender of the person does not matter to me, I’d like to be around the same age though. I am a bit of a night owl and keep to myself, but I can be quite chatty.
Thanks in advance !
I tried marathon but they’re booked. I just put down a dog I had for 12 years, I need help getting through detailed cleaning all of his left over hairs in the house.
This might sound silly, but I live out in the country where there are 0 trick-or-treaters and literal miles between houses, and I don’t work for any local businesses participating in the trick-or-treating downtown nor do I have any friends/family that live in suburban areas. BUT I have always wanted to hand out candy because it seems like such a fun way to participate in the holiday and to embrace the Halloween spirit! And after 34 years of living rural and not getting to hand out candy, I just really really want to be a part of traditional Halloween trick-or-treating!
Are there any options for rural folks like me (places to go to hand out treats), or am I just outta luck?
I moved here over a year ago so I was here for last halloween in Bellingham and I was sooooo disappointed but I am also curious, does nobody do the typical door to door trick or treating here? I lived in a house in a very normal and nice neighborhood last year and there were ZERO trick or treaters. Maybe we just go insane on halloween in the midwest but I am curious on if there is a reason for the lack of trick or treaters? I am 20 so I do not even trick or treat myself but it is huge part of the halloween spirit :)
So this is the first time I’m taking my son trick or treating, where is the best neighborhood to do it and what time does it usually start?
Interesting typo, I wonder if they meant Leopold Hotel Ballroom.
Leather crafters/shoe cobblers of bellingham, I need your advise. I need to put zippers in my Dr. Martens and I don’t want to get taken advantage of, and I know nothing about what a fair price would be, so any thoughts and recommendations would be helpful, thanks.
You were fast! Loved your clear rain coat to show off your awesome clothes! Also, I saw suburban guy who bumps his music way too loud and checks out Women. You're a fucking dork dude, knock it off 🤣🤣🤣 Mark, you were way cooler! Anyway, that's all.
I need to know the community’s thoughts on Grocery Outlet. I am a frequent shopper, and a lover of their deals, but it seems like it has really gone downhill recently. Last time I was in, I overheard the owner threatening to assault a shoplifter near the checkouts. I was a bit stunned, and now prefer driving to Ferndale to their Grocery Outlet. I have also seen other posts on older threads about the workers being treated poorly and the owners letting the protesters of planned parenthood park in their parking lot, but I don’t know if any of this is still true. Thoughts?
Police on megaphone shouting you're under arrest.
Update from whatcom breaking news:
Reports of police and SWAT activity at the Home2 Suites on Home Ln. Police trying to surrender that is barricaded in one of the rooms. Sounds like they have warrants.
My whole family LOVES the kalamata dressing that the avenue bakery has with their Cobb salad. (Iterestingly nobody but my wife likes kalamata olives, just this dressing) We've been trying to recreate it at home with no luck. Does anybody know their ingredients or have a recipe for something close?
I've seen a lot of B and C stars lately.
I've recently started noticing my next door neighbor having episodes, for lack of a better word, where they will go for seemingly hours saying out loud (to no one), "I don't know, I don't know, I didn't do that, I don't know," "No, no, no," etc. over and over and over.
They live alone and are probably in their 50s. They moved in I think less than a year ago and I've only started noticing it in the past month or so. But it's now a daily occurrence and I hear it when my window is open or I go outside - they do it in their house, yard and porch, so it's not exactly a public disturbance.
My husband has talked to them a few weeks back to see if we can do anything to help, as well as occasionally outside to help with chores and things, but they seem weary and likely unaware they have these episodes. Lately it seems like it's getting worse - more frequent, more hoarse/worried voice.
I have no idea what to do to help or address the situation and it's distressing. Do I contact MCOT? The other family they have listed on their homeowner page on the assessor's website? Or anyone else? It's not "my business" but it does seem like a bad situation and I'm not sure anyone else has noticed. Advice appreciated.
Where's my dopapod fans at for this weekend!?
