Renton is a city in King County, Washington, United States. It is part of the greater Seattle Metro Area, but has its own unique history and character that makes it a great place to live, work and play!
Welcome to r/Renton!
Renton is a beautiful city located on the south shore of Lake Washington with spectacular views of the lake, the Olympics, the Cascades, and Mount Rainier. The fourth largest city in King County and the 8th largest city in Washington, Renton is quite literally at the center of an extensive regional and international transportation network. The Cedar River runs through the heart of Downtown Renton and offers an abundance of natural beauty.

A few months back, we were in an accident. As you can see, a truck ran a red light and hit both our car and the one next to us. When we reported it, the police said they couldn’t do much since no one died. Our video didn’t catch the other car’s license plate, so we asked if they could check the traffic light cameras—but it doesn’t look like they’re going to follow up. Just a reminder to stay vigilant out there—you’re really on your own.
Looking for a massage provider in Renton or close by. Anyone have any recommendations? Thank you!
My partner and I have been living in Renton for 1 1/2 years now and our current vet we’ve been seeing has been a let down each time. Thinking about switching to a new one. Please let me know of any vets that are good with cats please and thank you! :)
Yesterday, someone asked how Renton will change over the next 10 years. To build off that post, what do you hope Renton looks like in 10 years time? What would you change if you could? What do you hope stays the same?
For the most part, I've lived in Renton since I was born. My family's been here for 40+ years at this point and it honestly hasn't changed much. Do you foresee Renton changing in the future? At times I feel it's quite stagnant here. Maybe people like it that way? Light rail or any meaningful public transit improvements is an impossible dream.
Looking for nanny recommendations, preferably someone local to the area so that commute won’t be a problem. Thanks!!
Hello,
Looking for a youth soccer league for a 7 year old (soon to be 8) to play in. Looks like most leagues in the area are in the fall, but was curious if anyone knows of any winter/spring leagues. Would be looking for recreational level as the kid has never played organized sports before, so looking for more beginner level experience to see how he takes to team sports.
We have a Toyota Rav4 and need some work done. Any recommendations?
Im doing online school which is getting really lonely, and I’m really looking into volunteering somewhere that I can meet new people, but I have no idea where. So anyone here know a good place to volunteer for high schoolers?
Is there anywhere close by that makes an exceptional one? And I'm not talking about a BLT with PNW flair like 23 grain artisan bread or a portabello mushroom toothpicked on top. Just the three ingredients on Wonder will do just fine. Any ideas?
Wanting to create a girls’ trivia group for once a week. Thinking either Mondays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays. Whistle Stop has trivia on Mondays, The Berliner on Wednesdays, and Local 907 has it Thursdays. Groups are generally limited to 6. Missing sometimes is fine of course, but I’d like to make it a goal to go weekly. I’m not super good at it, but I do really enjoy it. Let me know if anyone is interested. Also feel free to DM :)
My girlfriend (20F) and I (19M) recently have been sleeping in my car at a buddies spot but need to find somewhere new for tonight and maybe the next few nights. We're in Renton WA and are hoping to find a few spots to alternate between just to make sure we don't get in any type of issues. Doee anyone know any good spots in Renton, Kent, Fairwood, Skyway, or somewhere nearby? We really appreciate any help yall can offer!
Need recommendations for ob/gyn doctors in the area for my pregnant cousin. Is Renton a good place to get care or should I go to Bellevue? Thanks in advance.
Are there places either either natural or constructed overhangs that are walker friendly during rainy season?
Maybe cedar river trail on the woodsy end... other ideas?
Hi everyone! We just moved and I’ve been missing my old playgroup and really want to get back into playing. I pretty exclusively play commander, so if anyone is looking into rounding out a pod or starting one, I’d be happy to meet you somewhere for some games!
Hi All, we have recently moved to Renton and we are looking for a decent daycare for our 16 month old son. Renton II Kindercare is very close to our house. Therefore, I'm reaching out to see if any parents here have enrolled their kids at Renton II Kindercare. I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences regarding the program, staff, and overall environment. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help!
Hi, I am looking for recommendations for a lawn mower/maintenance in Renton. Thank you!
Not the most conveniently located for those on foot, by bus, or those who are physically disabled to access those locations.
Burien's ballot box used to be at the city hall/library building a decade ago, but now they moved it up a block. I wonder if the longterm enabled enter and welcome parties to the encampment on city hall property influenced their decision to move the box unit...., and make more room for another tent.
Countless other King County Libraries and city halls have ballot boxes located at them. But Renton is left with a defunct Elections building with two boxes at it, a library that's not accessible by bus; Kent residents have to go a falling-apart store strip with a building that hasn't been a library in over a decade but is still listed as one, a court house instead of major transit center or public shopping Plaza; and Auburn gets the gold star for having a ballot box at a nearly defunct park-and-ride /endsarcasm .
Help me guys my screen
Just left a dentist appointment and saw some pro life protestors setting up shop along Carr Rd asking about a nearby clinic. Stay safe, folks!
Hi all, need a handyman recommendation. Please share any reliable contacts you’ve had good experience working with

I'm (24m) very new to tennis and looking for people to play with at Lake Boren Park sometime. Let me know if you are interested.
Hello! The windshield of our car is cracked and needs to be replaced. Anyone have a good autoglass place they'd recommend? Thanks!
My friends just threw me a bachelor party in PR. Great place, great trip. While we were there, we toured a rum distillery, Scryer Rum. Unfortunately, the distillery didn’t sell their own product. There’s a place between the distillery and the airport that sells it but our timeline to get to the airport didn’t give us enough time to stop. If there is anyone going to Puerto Rico in the next couple weeks, I’d be willing to pay a small premium for three or four bottles plus your baggage fee so you can get the bottles here. I’d like to give them as gifts to the guys who paid for the tour (plus one for myself).
