I am trying to organize a toy drive for lightly used toys (don’t worry, I don’t want to give anyone junk) and am looking for places that are local that accept kiddo’s toys. Anywhere in the greater Seattle / Bellevue area is fine - I’ve checked most places online and it seems like everyone only accepts new toys. But, it seems like a lost opportunity to reuse. Any thoughts?
What is the best bang for your buck mechanic in Kirkland? Trying to get a starter replaced for an old forester…
Lost my Apple Watch maybe on my walk around Finn Hill - between 90th and 84th - I had a white band in the watch but it was giving issues with the adjustment holes. I’ve searched almost everywhere in my house and car. I even checked with Goodwill to see if I accidentally donated it with some bags of clothing. Of course ‘Find my’ app is linked to my iPhone. Watch was showing at my house. I can identify further - if someone finds it. Reward.
Tl;dr want to see if there are any investable small businesses. Thinking daycares medspa etc.
Drove by there a couple times last week. It seems like such a dangerous location how has it not been demod or at least cleared of homeless people. (don't really understand how there is homeless people in totem lake) Ive read stories of violent homeless people living inside who break stuff and chase others out with lead pipes(I have seen multiple homeless people outside drinking and walking around) and its right next to a playground?
My brother and his wife are visiting from the Midwest and he really wanted to do a cool hike like at Paradise on Mt. Rainier. They'll be here from now until this Thursday but it looks like it will be raining the whole time. Any recommendations on hikes for this time of year that still have a lot of views? Deception pass is on my for sure list.

Was in deas sleep when I hear a massive bang almost like a grenade, firework, or car crash. No other noises accompanied it, not flash of lights. Just wondering if anyone knew what that might have been?
Anyone else hear what sounded like gunshots near downtown Kirkland/Kirkland urban area just now? Fireworks? I don't know what else those popping sounds could have been. There were quite a few in succession. All I can think is that someone is really excited-- or depressed-- about the election.
A guy asked me to pay for his groceries.and I did because I am a softy. His payment was declined. The manager said this guy comes by a lot.
Been going to a Toyota dealership to get maintenance done, I’m not a car person but I feel like I’m being ripped off (so many extra “services” I’m not sure I even need).
Would appreciate any recommendations for a fair mechanic. Thank you in advance!
Just curious about the general vibe around gun ownership and gun culture around here. Are there a lot of CPL (concealed pistol license) holders here, or is the culture more on the cautious/anti-gun side? I’ve noticed perspectives can vary a lot in different areas, so I’d love to hear from residents about how things feel here in Kirkland. Whether you’re pro, against, or somewhere in between, what’s your take on the topic?
Looking for ways to volunteer indoors near the Kirkland / Bothell / Edmonds areas. I see that there’s Park clean ups but I get cold way too easily 😅. I’ve signed up for Hopelink and am awaiting their approval, but wanted to ask about other ways to get involved?
Hello, I'm seeking advice on a dispute with a contractor I hired for some minor remodeling work in my home. We had a signed contract, and I paid him 50% for labor and 100% for materials upfront. Unfortunately, he took the money and hasn't done any of the agreed-upon work or purchased any materials. To make matters worse, I discovered he's done the same to others in my community, including a senior citizen.
I initiated a check fraud case with my bank and I served him summons. As per the case status shown on King County court website, the contractor just filed his "Answer" and "Notice of Appreance". I am not sure what to do after this.My questions are:
The amount in dispute is less than $5,000, so I'm trying to handle this myself. I'm suing on principle and to protect others from his fraudulent activities. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated! This is the first time I am ever dealing with the courts and it has not been easy.Has anyone gone through this process before? I am looking for some guidence and pointers so I can move in the right direction.
Thank you.
Hello! I know it is turning yucky out but I am in search of a group who like to play Spikeball/ other physical activity’s! I have been in the area for about a year but haven’t really found anything yet. Preferably a group with females. :) Thanks if you know any!
Coming from Europe , I never had a driving licence. Starting from the next week, I will be staying in Kirkland for a month. I want to explore the around while staying here, mainly the urban areas like Seattle, Bellevue etc. I checked Uber prices, it is quite pricey for me :(
What's the best mean of transport for me? I'm thinking of getting e-bike or just using the public transport?
How safe or practical is it to use either of these option?
Thank you
I am 23M and looking to find things to do around here. I moved here in January and don't really have people to go out with. I'm pretty shy and introverted so something simple like trivia would be awesome, or even just places that people go to to just read or vibe. Making friends is hard
I’m in the Kenmore Kirkland area off Simonds road. A bobcat was in my backyard today and killed both my chickens! Just an FYI for folks in the area without outdoor pets.
Hi! I’m looking to drive by or do trick or treating with my little one on Halloween. Which street you have driven by that has the best Halloween decorations?
Friend is listing their apartment for rent in the Juanita Village area. It's furnished. It can be unfurnished as well.

Hi! Just wanted to ask gym recommendation. I'm going to be in Kirkland for 3 weeks this year end and I'm wondering if there's a gym I can join during that time. Hopefully one that doesn't have cancellation fees or lock-in period membership since. I do weightlifting so any kind of gym that has weights is ok with me. Thanks!
(sorry, please be patient. first time reddit poster)
Anyone else hear that dog incessantly howling/crying somewhere on Finn Hill/ Holmes Point Drive? It’s super creepy! Hope it’s ok.
Chainline did trivia about a year ago, and just restarted it a couple weeks ago. I was on a team last Thursday and it was a good time, but a little quiet. Just putting some notice out there to get some more folks to come and play with us :)
Was way better than the Sporcle trivia a lot of places do around here.
