Looking for a singer/songwriter named Jen Foster, an out lesbian performer based in Nashville. She was very active, but in 2016-17, she just vanished. Website went dark, etc.
Does anyone know what happened to her?
I’ve always loved Glass Vase Cello Case — its raw, haunting energy and connection to the But I’m a Cheerleader soundtrack make it so special. Since the original isn’t on streaming, I decided to explore what it might sound like with a bolder, more electronic edge, inspired by artists like Thy Slaughter.
The result plays with layered textures and a futuristic feel, while still holding onto the heart of the song. It’s been a fun way to reimagine such a cult classic.
Would love to hear others’ thoughts on how the song resonates today.
Hey, y’all! I wrote this electropunk EP after Trump won the election, then produced and recorded the songs before the inauguration. It’s an attempt to turn despair into rage, affirmation and determination to make it through whatever comes next. Hope you like it! ✌️
I was asked to perform some of my music live for a Christmas cabaret but felt weird going in who not a single original Christmas song. The week of, I tried to write something joyful but was struggling to get into the Christmas spirit with everything going on culturally, politically, and how those directly affect my own family dynamics. Ended up writing this! It was a big hit at the live show so I decided to recorded it with my sound engineer, got some b roll footage and put this visualizer together! I’d love to get it out there more and get it in the ears of people who might be feeling the same as me this holiday season 💚❄️
I am hosting my second every gig next week! Not to toot my own horn but it is a doosey of a line up.
We have Queercore duo Death Goals coming from London, Skitz Wizards who have been rocking the Nottigham hardcore scene and Liverpools own False Thoughts too. Despite the great lineup we are struggling with moving tickets.
If you like the sound of what we have to offer and want to support grassroots protomers and venues like Quarry please consider buying a ticket. If not, feel free to give us a follow @run.your.pockets
I'm queer and nonbinary and my partner is pan. We released 13 new ambient / drone/ experimental electronic / idm / vaporwave albums this year including 5 new tapes. We have a link on our page for recs / where to start since 95 releases is a lot to jump into. There's a bunch of retrowave, noise, and heavier electronics in there too. We're celebrating 15 years later next year. Doing a big 30% off sale today with code SALE ingrown.bandcamp.com
On Bandcamp Fridays, bandcamp gives 100% of proceeds to musicians instead of taking their cut (and they have greatly reduced the amount of Bandcamp fridays, to the point that this is the third and final this year).
Any band or album recs? Not just for me, but anyone looking for something new. (though for me, I'd take any queer punk/rock/hardcore recs, not just well-defined queercore)
does this exist
Hi everyone! I’m at university and helping my girlfriend research the history of queer core/ riot grrrls especially between the 70s-90s. If anyone has some recommended literature or media on it that would be fantastic :)
hello,
my teenager recently had an idea to make a website where people in the queer community could write about experiences they've had, and how those experiences had shaped their lives.
so, i helped them register their first domain name (proud nerd parent moment), and created the bare-bones first draft of the website. i happily showed them after a couple nights of hacking, and they said "the style is interesting", but was happy to see it working.
the only issues is, there are so far exactly zero stories. i would guess that they don't yet even feel comfortable writing their own experiences with these crickets chirping.
so if anyone feels like writing anything, i know it would mean the world to my super awesome teen.
thanks in advance, and have a great week!

I'm about to head out on an East Coast tour with my band, Middle-Aged Queers. I hope to see some of you there!
Pink Disco is a quarterly magazine that celebrates sex, sexuality, and the body in fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and visual art. We welcome the taboo, the weird, the kinky, and the unexpected and strongly encourage nontraditional and underrepresented voices to contribute.
hey yall, my band, KLOVIS GAYNOR & THE URINAL CAKES, plan to release our first major album this winter & we are looking to work with a pr agency that specializes in queer stories. Does anyone have any advice or insight in queer music pr? or even just how to make a big splash when releasing new music for community? We play in NYC regularly & go on tour throughout new england this november which will help but wondering what else we can do to get our project to those who will resonate with it. Any queercore publications or playlists we should be submitting to? thanks!
our first single can be found here if ur curious https://open.spotify.com/track/6L4N1HPV6Ltrga0ZjcnPKX?si=c15633a0b8cd412c
Just release this song (streaming on all platforms) and am struggling finding listeners 🙃. Some queer people out there should love it, right?? Let me know what you think.
