Hi, I'm a freelance illustrator and I was interested in making zines. Do you have any general advice to give to someone who is getting started?

heya , i’m creating a digital zine for my project at college but before i do that i need to do research on them. Apart of the research i need to do is historical research, if anyone could drop any good websites or just own knowledge for history of zines or how colour is used in zines etc that would be great.
Stop by Bradley Street Bicycle Co-op at 138 Bradley Street in New Haven from 12pm-5pm to pick up the Inaugural Issue of PIZZA BEATS Issue #1: Zuppardi’s Apizza!
For the past few years I’ve been working on a series of paintings dedicated to Pizzerias in Watercolor. This zine serves as an outlet for me to share all the extra art, info and images I’ve accumulated while working on this series.
I've been making zines since I was in high school, primarily about music and graffiti. However, I've had an idea for a novel for a while now and want to attempt making it as a DIY publication. I'm not sure how to use the traditional zine creative style with the typical 8-20 page templates and what not, and transfer it into making a novel that's over 100 pages. The only thing I can think of is writing everything out and sending it to a press, but I really want to be as hands on as possible. Thoughts??
New Zinester here, just finished second issue of a horror fiction zine, with a collage cover. I'm looking for advice for refining my collage process, since it's kind of a mess. I'm printing everything on a Brother black and white laser printer. Here's what I'm currently doing:
I know Photoshop would make this easier, but $$$. I know Gimp can theoretically handle making the collages, but neither I nor a friend who's taught Photoshop could figure out Gimp. The grayscale trick was about the only thing I learned how to reliably do on it.
This is surely not the simplest way to make black and white collages. Can y'all help me figure out a better way to do this?

Hi! This summer im traveling to Italy and i want to visit some stores and buy zines, luckily from locals! Do anyone know zine stores o places in Rome, Florence and Venice? (:
There are about 10 of us that would contribute to celebrate completing our training as therapists. I remember when I was younger a local church would make a recipe book that people would contribute to. I would appreciate any ideas on a theme (like recipes) that we could all contribute to, as a way of commemorating the time we spent together :)
Any longtime zine makers here? I have a question...
Do all of you make in-between zines or stop-gap zines that is totally far from the subject covered by your main zine?
For context, I've been publishing a fanzine on undeground music (mostly punk but bits of metal and other genre too...) since 2005 (18 issues so far...) and when I'm hit with blockades like artist/writer's block, depression, etc... I usually make some little zines to battle any personal issues I have. Whenever I'm having a writer's block, I draw or take pics outside the publish them as mini-zines. When I'm having artist block, I write little poems and haikus, or walk around town to observe what I love and what I hate about it, which gives me the subject to write and rant.
Right now, I think I have a dozen or so titles that I go back to from time to time whenever I'm not working on my main zine.

I’m creating a joint zine for a university project. It will be 3 zines and I’d like to bind them in a way they become one larger zine. Anyone have experience with this?
