So I am not a drag queen but have been commissioned my first wig designing project.. I’ve only ever made one wig before and it wasn’t really even a wig bc I glued the hair on a shaved mannequin head in cosmetology school. But anyways my friend wants a wig that looks like lady Gaga’s Grammys wig she wore on Sunday.. I think it would be a fairly easy quick weave wig to make but I’m not sure if it would last for multiple performances. Should I not do a glued quick weave wig for drag? My friend doesn’t do a lot of intense head movements so the tracks coming out from that won’t be an issue but I know they sweat a bit bc they complain about it.. so I’m not totally sure of the longevity.. like I don’t want to waste my friends money or my time making a wig that won’t last.. (I’m maybe hoping for a year) if a glued wig is ok should I use wig glue or maybe like gorilla glue or something intense like that??
I (24F) went to my first drag show last week with some of my cousins and LOVED it!! I would like to go once a week or every other week, but I don’t have any friends! Would it be weird if I went alone? Would people look at me funny? I’m a pretty independent person and have never really had friends, I would like to meet people with similar interests, but it’s so hard to make friends in your 20s! I don’t want to deny myself from having a fun time just because I don’t have friends to go with!
Met the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence last year and loved some of the fashion schematics of one sister I met, especially her hat/headdress. It basically was this hat/headdress that had a veil/cloth hanging from behind. A sister told me that it was called a "zayqin" but I could not find any results from that. The closest results I found online was that it was akin to the kalimavkion, koukoulion, and klobuk hats that priests wear in the Eastern Orthodox Churches, the veiled hats that the Bene Gesserit wear, and the wimple that Olenna Tyrell wears (yes, I have a very ritual fashion sense 😂 The hats and veils are very mystical for me). Does anyone here know what the name(s) of this kind of headress/hat is? And where might be a recommended place to buy some nice ones?
Thought I looked good so I wanted to share
okay very important question coming from a baby drag queen... (fetal drag queen would be more accurate lol). the one process I have been dreading in all my practice is TUCKING. I have watched so many videos and have spent so many hours trying to push my girls up there to secure them, but I just CANNOT get them up. for reference, my girls are pretty large, so whenever I try to get them up into the inguinal canals it feels like they're about to go pop lol.
I'm starting to feel really hopeless. has anyone had the same experience? can anyone else share how they overcame this struggle? I want to be able to wear tight(er) clothing/costumes in drag, and feel like my drag career will never even start if I can't figure this out.
xo
~ from a drag queen that is losing hope
Hey, all! I’ve been performing for a couple months and realized I need a better organization system. I initially used a duffle, garment bag, and carried my props but I walk a couple blocks to get to the bar (which is a pain in a cold climate). I tried a small suitcase but that doesn’t fit everything I need. What do you use? 🙏
I rotate regularly between bars so I need to bring the following with me: 2-3 costumes/wigs/shoes, makeup case (I use a caboodle), a couple props, and a few small bags with other items (hair accessories, my wallet, etc.).

Was thinking about this since someone raised there being too many queens as a reason it’s hard to get bookings right now. Does everyone who starts stay forever or is it normal to for people to give up because of how hard it is/ the effort it takes? I know it can’t be that black and white in reality, I just don’t have anything to go off of.
I lost an earring, my titty is popping out, and my skirt is lopsided... but I was feeling the fantasy diva! 🤣 You could not tell me I'm not that girl 💅
wore this to a drag race viewing party for the most recent episode and to my surprise the runway category was tickle me pink . so fitting ig
Hi (Not sure if I'm posting this in the right place)
I'm going on an airplane for the first time and I'm not sure how to pack my makeup. I'm nervous about eyeshadow getting smashed and foundation breaking open. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks:)
Went to the Indianapolis Illusions drag dinner show last night and it felt like a total scam. The venue was entirely unprepared. The door were supposed to close and the show was supposed to start at 7, but it nearly 8 when the first performer went, it was supposed to end at 8! They almost didn’t even remember to bring out the champagne I paid for in advance before the show. The drag queens were independent of the organization, they were lovely and I felt so incredibly sorry for them. There was no working dj set and no music for them. They had to try and find/ play their music over touch tunes… one of the queens walked out on her second performance because they couldn’t find her song. The queen mc’ing was even saying it was a mess. Feels like a total scam, for viewers and the drag queens.
