The one by me (76th and good hope) got rid of their self checkout. I know there are mixed feelings about self checkout but I go to pick n save when I need just a few items after work bc the self checkout goes very fast. I also prefer to bag my own groceries bc I'm picky about frozen and refrigerated items not being in bags with non-perishable items.
If I wanted to wait in a long line to get 3 items I'd go to Aldi and if I wanted to have someone else bag my groceries in a way that's technically fine but not how I prefer I'd go to Sentry.
Just looking for some thoughts on the Coast wedding venue. It’s on the end Wisconsin Ave near the lake and by the art museum. What are things you really liked about the venue? What are some challenges you had with the venue? Or Cater (Zilli)?
Why can’t there be a live broadcast podcast, like a radio broadcast, or app that can provide play by play live? Who would want this app or podcast?
I'm an 18 year old guitarist/metalhead (very introverted) I'm not in college but I wanna go somewhere where I can meet others my age that wanna do the same thing (meet other people)
I was out at Bradford Beach this evening and saw a large amount of squad cars, followed by a helicopter flying in.
It flew around a few times then landed on the field near the big winding road off Lincoln Memorial.
Anybody have any idea what was going on?
I was curious what places in Milwaukee have photo booths?
Looking to stick it to us again! 19% rate increase this time! Oh sure we can complain to feel better but the powers that be will approve it probably around 15%. Better to just bend over, grab your ankles, and take it all! 3rd increase in 3 years! Wonder how much they’ll steal from me next year?

Hey everyone. The title says it all. I’m curious if there are any places in Milwaukee(preferably near or in the east side) that teach American Sign Language (ASL)?
I use Lingvano, and it’s amazing, but wish there was more to learn in my city. I haven’t found any programs or clubs anywhere etc.
Just looking for a bartender job to supplement income. Doesn’t have to be a super busy spot.
Lol cannot figure out what this is supposed to be on my shirt!
The Milwaukee Gay Sports Network is hosting a bingo fundraiser at Pop in Walker's Point on October 17! A great chance to meet players and organizers from the various LGBTQ+ sports teams and leagues around the city (volleyball, tennis, soccer, rugby, bowling, darts, softball) and help us raise money for our 501c3! Hope to see you there!
My job currently requires me to spend most of my day driving in the bad areas of Milwaukee and I’m so tired of these drivers… car got t-boned and totaled by someone with no license or insurance… and not even a month later the same thing happens in my brand new car and of course it’s a hit and run. It’s so hard driving on these streets knowing I can’t predict how people are going to drive. Sorry delete if not allowed but I’m just so frustrated right now because RIP my insurance premium…
Edit: new car isn’t totaled thankfully but still shitty that I have to get it fixed with my own money
Our city can look majestic sometimes 🪄
I would love to do one of those apps/downloads for a scavenger hunt or game around Milwaukee for my birthday with some friends (I’m a local for 10+ years so up for a challenging one!!). Has anyone here done one that they had a good time with? Looking for recs :)
I see “House your body” event is coming up this Saturday at Mad Planet. Has anyone gone before? If the turnout size good? How’s the energy?
Hey all,
I’m currently pregnant and starting to think about where to deliver my baby. I live in the Milwaukee area and would love to hear your experiences or recommendations on the best hospitals for labor and delivery.
Some things I’m particularly interested in:
Quality of the maternity ward and NICU (just in case) Supportive and caring staff
Approach to birth plans (natural, epidural, C-section, etc.) Overall experiences with OBs and nurses
Any tips on what I should look for in choosing a hospital?
I’d love to hear your thoughts, whether you had a great experience or things you’d suggest avoiding. Thanks so much for your help!
Bonus point if they got good pickles.
I'm looking for somewhere that's got a more traditional/"street" style pad kaprao somewhere in MKE or surroundings. Every time I've gotten it here, it consists of small slices of meat (I usually go pork) in a brown sauce, usually without much heat, rice, and sometimes an egg.
What I'm looking for is what I had a bunch in Thailand, which is pretty dry and crispy ground meat, holy basil, and chiles, shallots, garlic, etc served with rice, a fried egg, and nam prik pla. Anyone encounter this?
TLDR: I am currently living in Waukesha and trying to decide if somewhere like Bayview would be better for my family long term, providing more opportunities.
Hello Milwaukee Residents!
I am currently living in the city of Waukesha, just south of Carroll University Campus with my wife and two young children. We have been here for about 5 years now in a home we purchased. There are certainly things we love about the city, but feel they are not making great strides in making the city safer for kids, better for walkability and cycling. They do have plans to improve things such as "complete streets" and improving their zoning plan to allow for a more traditional neighborhood with shops and businesses integrated into the urban areas, but we feel like our kids are going to be grown and gone by the time these things are doing well. Waukesha does have a large focus on their park system and are implementing a number of improvements there, but I am unsure how else they are doing better than some of the Milwaukee neighborhoods.
I am currently commuting for work toward Milwaukee so a move would improve my commute time and more easily enable alternate forms of transit to driving solo.
We also have a few friends who have moved to Bayview/Fernwood and claim things are much better out there. Schools are better, parks are fantastic, streets are safer in the neighborhood, etc.
I am looking for some feedback/guidance from people in a similar situation. It feels hard to determine what we should prioritize when determining where we should live. Our kids will be starting school in 1-2 years and we feel like it would be beneficial to figure out these things now and plan a move in the next year.
If you love circling dates on your calendar, now’s your time to shine. Grab your red pen and mark October 13th — the return of Curd Fest at Drink Wisconsinbly Pub. It’s the fifth installment of our annual celebration of cheese, and the pieces are in place to make this the best one ever.
Leading off are the stars of the show: the curds. You find squeakers to sample and purchase from these fine Wisconsin vendors:
And we haven’t forgotten about your ears in this feast for the senses. Keith Stras & Polka Confetti will be setting the mood with popular favorites all day.
For your viewing pleasure, you can step into the Pub to watch the Packers game. They’ll be systematically dismantling the Cardinals on every TV in the house.
For those who like to mark momentous events such as this with tattoos, we are excited to have Danny Gietzel from Honey Wraith Tattoo in the Pub tattooing some Curd and Wisconsin inspired flash tattoos.
If you want to step it up with VIP Tickets, you’ll get a coozie, a limited edition sticker, cheese curd samples, and a shot of DW Cheese Curd Vodka with a chaser shot of Supper Club Ranch.
Curd Fest runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Set the GPS for the Drink Wisconsinbly Pub at 320 W. Highland Ave in Milwaukee. There’s free street parking as well as paid lots nearby. But be sure to take an Uber or Lyft if your whole crew is going to lean into the Sunday Funday experience.
Okay, you should be finished circling the date by now. The next step is buying your tickets. You can do it right here. We’ll see you there!
I'm considering seeing if the knitters at my work would like to join together to knit items for local non-profits. Any organizations that you know of that need such items?
Does anyone know of a bar/club/venue that has live Bossa nova music? Or any recommendations on local bands that play Bossa Nova. I’m hoping it’s not just jazz clubs. A bit niche, so any recommendations are appreciated!
Hello, hello! This is Joy Powers from WUWM. Me and some colleagues are headed to a bar for a segment this afternoon: what is a quintessentially Milwaukee//Wisconsin shot? I can think of Wisconsin drinks more generally, but there isn't a specific shot that comes to mind.
Typically go to engine and transmission exchange given they are reliable, but they can sometimes be expensive. Have A small leak in my exhaust I think, might just be a gasket but not sure, haven’t looked under the car.
Milwaukee Dems finally restocked. Go get your sign!
