Not shown was also an entire box of the grabngo size of nerd clusters, a wooden clock missing one detail, 8 totes, 3 with lids, all have cracks(nothing a little duct tape can't fix) 2 candles, womens socks, mens socks, 3 boxes of hostess cakes and another box with 6 bags of Powdered doughnuts. All food expired day of find, and was still perfectly fine. So glad I got into this.. really helped my family out.
I haven’t gone out in months.. but I knew they recently stopped locking the petco dumpster so I went today after it rained. I have noticed barely anyone goes out when it rains!!
I found two bags of amazing dog food, but my dumb ass picked them up without finding the cut they made, and both bags fell into the dumpster.
While I was wallowing in my pitty, I found a double bagged garbage bag that was insanely heavy. I pulled it out, and it had 89 cans of bougie cat food. I made sure it wasn’t recalled before packing that shit up in one of the empty dog food bags.
My cats are happy.
Biggest haul of drinks yet. All bottles! $tree
What do they even throw out? Probably just expired or heavily damaged goods right? Not sure if this is worth pursuing or not.
I'm hoping this is the right sub for this question--
Someone put out their washer and dryer by the dumpster at our apartment, and since we're on the market for them we snatched them up. But now I'm a little concerned that that was a bad idea. Any advice on what I should be looking out for, what parts might need cleaning that I'm not thinking of, or if this was a bad idea generally and I should put them back?
They were pretty dirty but I don't see any actual damage or visible mold, though I'm not sure I'm looking in the right places
I know the washer has power since I plugged it in and it lit up, I haven't tried hooking up the water and running it yet since I need to get the hoses (it did come with the drain though). The dryer didn't come with the plug (I'm not familiar with dryers but it looks like that's a normal thing after searching it up?) So I don't know if it works yet, I also need to get the vent tube
I'm hoping since they were both put out at once the owner just replaced them or moved and they're not broken, but I don't know for sure
Sorry in advance if this is stupid, I've never done this with such big appliances before
Me and my friend used to go dumpster diving way before social media and YouTube were a thing. I remember finding about 20 boxes of chewing gum 3 crates of lager and 45 boxes of chocolates in one. Haven't done it in years. Just wondering what is the most weird thing anyone has found.
I went to throw some trash out at my apartment complex and found two boxes sitting next to the dumpster! I looked in and found these! I am literally so excited!!!
I can't believe my luck ! I've always wanted a mirrored disco ball! This one is really big and in great shape!
I've been looking at this local boutique regularly and not seeing much but coat hangers. Total score with the disco ball and several cool throws and some pretty slick tablecloths with a Mexican theme! Pays to be consistent!
Was looking around for the perfect perfect cubby plate or something to organize new crystals on my altar. Instead found this nice draw thing sitting in the dumpster and I was able to do more than store my crystals. I was able to gather everything from my alter and make more space!
I don’t have a lot of money rn and this helps I’m gonan keep 3 in the freezer. 3 pepperoni 1 cheese
Is there some sort of online list or website for the different ewaste sites for different communities and or stores? I know there’s a program for staples and one for target but there aren’t any even remotely in my area. Just wondering if anyone has found out ways to search for them. My partner is super geeky and him n his cousin are always working on electrical projects and needing specific parts that I imagine could be found in these.
The best part of this is is that the dishwasher at the house (which I also got dumpster diving) JUST died and is the exact same model as this one so even if it doesnt work I can use it for parts to fix the one at home.
Didn't have room for the oven. I'll grab it in the morning if it's still there. I've got no particular use for it but I imagine I could flip it for a couple hundred if I drive it to the city.
The box next to the oven is a brand new, still wrapped in foam chrome kitchen faucet. That's going to be a nice gift for ma when she discovers over replaced the corroded old one we've got installed now.
I'll be on vacation in Florida in the Naples area and was curious if anyone has any advice on the area on local laws, hot spots etc.
Can anyone help me with the tune ? I found this cool music box today and trying to get more info on it . It’s also made in japan!
I’ve pulled a few of them out and I got lucky with 2 perfectly working monitors and stands for them. They’re from my job. Wondering if I can rip out any material and sell. Lots of logitech brand monitors not in the picture here.
Pretty happy with this find. Was sitting next to a dumpster and have been wanting to get a new case for my rig.
Your bestie gives you your own dumpsters for Xmas!
So cute! And clean!
I found a whole box of ham trimmings at the dollar store! It’s been below freezing all week and the buy by date isn’t until 2025 so I assume they would be okay? Anyone have any thoughts??
Been hitting construction site dumpsters, hoping to get enough together to build myself a shed!
I would like to learn the ropes of diving as I think there is terrible waste of food and products that could benefit all people. When I was a poor student living in a basement apartment on the Ohio State campus decades ago I would dive in the 7-11 dumpster near me. I got a lot of cheese I remember. Anyone out there diving in these areas? Would like to go on a dive and learn best practices 😃
