This is probably going to show how lame I am but I see these stickers all over public poles and signs - someone is having these custom made and mostly they seem like gibberish.
For example, stopped at a traffic crossing this morning, someone has stuck a sticker that said “BOTHER HEAL JAER”. Is it a band? Slam poetry? Just a tag??
Do these signify anything to anyone? Is there some meaning I’m missing?
I don’t necessarily mean just this particular sticker - I’ll try to get some pictures of other stickers I see around….
Is there anywhere in Canberra that sells an Indian kebab? Where they get a naan, smother it in butter chicken sauce, smash some chicken tikka, potato, mint sauce and roll it up?
Similar to the place on Oxford St, Paddington or the Bombay Grill in Mortdale?
I live near Kingston, and I am hearing a very loud voice over a microphone and people cheering. What’s going on?
Hey so, I was walking from a restaurant in gungahlin place (the area with the units and all) and I saw a very well kept, friendly and quite lost looking kitty. It looked like it had never seen or heard cars before (as proven when I started up my car and it jumped)
Not sure if it is an outdoor kitty or what not, but if the owner is reading this - I don't think placing your kitty outside on a pathway that is next to a semi busy road is smart.
I’m looking for some pine cones for Christmas decorating. Is there a spot accessible to the pubic that I would find a lot of fallen pine cones?
Does anyone have good Bluesky accounts for Canberra?

Train: NSW is planning to power all its electrified lines with renewable energy by next year (Transport for NSW). While Sydney's train lines have been electrified as far southwest as Campbelltown/Macarthur for nearly 60 years (Wiki), the only trains going beyond that point run on diesel (Wiki; SMH). Plans to electrify the line from Campbelltown to Goulburn are, according to a draft state gov't strategy from 6 years ago, "set for investigation and planning over a 10-20 year time frame" (Wollondilly Shire Council).
Bus: Electric coach buses have been trialled on long-distance routes overseas like the 240km London-Newport (Sustainable Bus) and the 110km Frankfurt-Mannheim (BYD Europe). Sydney-Canberra would be around 280km, but there are electric buses/coaches with ranges close to 500km (Robotic Vehicle Technology; GreenPower).
Transport Canberra already has electric buses with a range of 400km (ACT Gov) and they're getting 110 more (Riotact). Even kids in Queanbeyan, Bungendore and Sutton are getting a couple of electric school buses (Transport for NSW). Custom Denning, the Australian-based company the ACT is apparently ordering electric buses from (Riotact), seem to have unconfirmed plans for a long-distance electric coach on their website (Custom Denning).
As far as I know, 2 bus companies run a Sydney-Canberra service these days. Murrays has a few biofuel buses up in Queensland (circular economy, sure, but still burning fuel) and says it's making "ongoing investment" in electric vehicles, but with no details on brands or timing (Murrays) - smells like greenwashing to me! And according to Greyhound, "unfortunately, the infrastructure simply does not yet exist in Australia to support long-distance electric coach travel" (Greyhound).
What happened to the rick garden? The only time someone actually wanted to see it (overseas visitors who loved rocks) and its…no longer there. Or the rocks anyway.
I have not had any prior experience with making a report, so I was hoping to hear from others what the process is. Do they contact you to tell you of the outcome? E.g., nothing, but will monitor for other reports; ACT Police will discuss the matter with the person; or, previously reported for other matters and this has been referred to ACT Police for escalation. On the other hand, does it fall into the abyss; never to see the light of day again?
Hi all,
Looking for recommendations for the best butcher to go in Canberra (don’t mind where). I’m looking to pick up some high quality steak, I’ve had Costco’s Australian wagyu a few times and am interested to see if any other butchers in Canberra offer a similar class of beef. Thanks!
Megathread for all MyWay+ discussions, considering the number of posts (both published and filtered). Other posts will be locked/removed.
After taping in all the information, the webpage jumps to some glitched animation. And bam! The webpage was erased after I submitted, and still showing no card bound.
Hi everyone! My partner and I are planning a trip to Canberra from the 24th to the 27th of December. Since it’s during the Christmas period, we’re aware that many places will be closed. However, we wanted to know if there are still any attractions or places we can explore during our three days there. We will be staying in the heart of the city and plan to use public transport to get around. We are happy to do hours of hike or travel far by bus/train but unfortunately won't have access to a car. Any suggestions are welcome, as this is a last-minute impromptu trip.
I just moved in a few months ago and I wanted to get an upper lobe piercing. I don’t have many relatives or friends here so this is my only way to get recommendations, and places where I can get pierced for not too expensive and a place which has trusted piercers?
We are in our mid thirties and looking for a place is a bit alive/modern so no suburbs rather close to the CBD.
I see Belconnen having some nice places, is it a nice place to live?
Thank you
PSA for cyclists - the magpie on City Walk in Civic, near the David Jones entrance and the flirtatious sheep installation is STILL swooping, but only cyclists!
A bike hating, bogan magpie?
Anyway, helmets on when rolling through there ufn!
I’m here visiting family without my lovely partner who has a peanut allergy.
I want a tasty peanut party for one- extra points if I can order it Southside on Uber eats or door dash right now!
But I would be happy to wait until tomorrow to go and get it in person anywhere if it’s worth it 🥰🥜🥜🥜🥜❤️
Saw this dude last week, near the southern cross club of all places. Seems legit Christmas beetle?
Hi all
There is a shortage of ADHD medication (Concerta) until May(!). Ideally I could just go back to my GP for an alternative version around the same dose.
However I suspect it will be seen as a change in treatment, which will require a psychiatrist to organise. Unfortunately my psychiatrist has left Canberra. Arghhh - I don't think I can not go without medication for the Christmas period!!
Any thoughts on next steps? Are there any virtual psychiatrist I could ask my GP to refer me to?
Thanks!!
I have been struggling a TON lately and I really need to see a GP to figure out what to do. Having really bad physical symptoms that are affecting my mental health, or vice versa, I don't know. My current GP is good but has basically no availability. I am already seeing a psychologist once a week. Pref inner north area but will travel.
every summer i yearn for the cicadas to return to canberra and seeing proof theyre back makes me overjoyed, however im yet to see any in my suburb (can definitely hear them 🧐), so if you have seen any this year please let me know where! thankyou!
My partner is learning to drive (we live close to the city so we can cycle everywhere) and would like some proper lessons. Does anyone know of a qualified instructor that teaches manual driving and is available on weekends?
Is the ticketing system still not working? I need to use the light rail soon after a few weeks
I'm trying to get from Melb-Canberra on Tuesday for a 12pm meeting and then back to Melb on the same day - and for a reason I cant understand there are almost no flights at the right times and certainly none at appropriate prices.. its almost cheaper to fly to sydney the night before and fly into canberra the next day but that seems insane. parliament isnt sitting so I dont know whats going on! Any ideas?
