Buying milk and cream direct from local farmers

I wanted to know if anyone has knowledge of local farms in and around Hobart that I can buy milk and cream from? Ideally was wanting to setup a regular home delivery but from searching online couldn't find any services. Only looking to buy small volumes for the household (not anything commercial). I don't mind driving to collect it either, more so just wanting to avoid ColesWorth and buy direct. Thanks heaps in advance!

30km zones spreading nationwide

High chance of this happening in Hobart too

https://yoursayyarra.com.au/30km/about-trial

Does anyone actually still believe the "if you don't speed or break the law you've got nothing to worry about" crap that some people say?

What about when the speeds get restricted to 20km/h? And then to 10km/h?

At what point would those people (if any) think it's ridiculous?

Best time of the year to look for a rental?

I love the house and neighborhood that I live in, but it's so poorly insulated I cannot do another winter in it. Any recommendations for the best time of the year to search for a rental? It feels like it is slim pickings.

Abandoned Kei Truck in Sandy Bay

Does anybody know the story behind the seemingly abandoned Daihatsu Hijet japanese kei truck up on Beddome street in Sandy Bay? Rego check on its plate says it's been unregoed for 7 years! I have to assume there is somebody taking at least some form of ownership or it would have been towed years ago. It's sad watching it slowly fall into further and further disrepair and neglect, it deserves to be saved!

If you're curious you can see it on google street view on the stretch of road between 20 and 24 beddome street.

Why do people tailgate me for doing 5km below the speed limit?

I do 5km under the speed limit to give myself a buffer in case I accidentally slip over the limit and get booked by those mobile speed cameras

I stay left, so why do people still tailgate me??

So damn dangerous ffs, just overtake me I'm in the left lane anyway

Taxi from airport to Marion Bay

Hi all, Is taking a taxi from Hobart Airport to Marion Bay going to be difficult? I understand it’s going to be expensive, I just want to make sure I’m not going to have a hard time finding someone willing to take that trip. Will I have a better chance with Uber? Thanks for the info!

What’s your favourite local band currently gigging in Hobart?

Any genre, anywhere. Curious to know who you’re enjoying watching at the moment.

Survey for parents/caregivers to children aged 2-12 - looking at what children know about sharks

Hi everyone,

I am a scientist from UniSA + I am looking for participants, for some new research I am doing.

Are you the parent/caregiver of a child aged 2-12 years? If so, we kindly invite you to participate in our short online survey about sharks. We are interested in what children know about sharks, so this survey involves you completing a couple of questions about sharks, and then asking your children some questions about sharks. You will then be asked to write what your children say or what they do (e.g. if they use hand gestures).

LINK TO SURVEY:

https://research.unisa.edu.au/redcap/surveys/?s=XYPHMNMKFEJR7H4P

Please also feel free to send to any one you know who might be interested.

The survey takes approximately ten minutes per child to complete, if you have more than one child aged between 2-12 they can all participate.

This study has received ethics approval from the University of South Australia (#206267). If you have any queries, please contact the lead researcher: Brianna.lebusque@unisa.edu.au

Looking for a therapist.

Hi everyone,

I’m currently looking for a therapist based in Tasmania, available either for online therapy sessions or in-person. I’d like to find someone without a long waitlist, who is experienced, non-judgmental, and open-minded. It’s important that they have experience with trauma therapy and I am curious about EMDR. Ideally, I’m after a therapist who is LGBTQIA+ friendly, have experience with self-esteem, trauma or anxiety.

Any recommendations for mental health professionals?

Thank you in advance!

Were you a Ninja in Hobart between the last 80s and 1997?

Hi, I'm a first time poster, looooong time lurker and, more importantly, a writer (sorry everyone. I know you all find writers annoying on reddit lol). I'm looking for past members of the Ninja group that was operating in Hobart from the late 80s until its (supposed) end in 1997 (I know some of the ninjas continued their practice after the ending). I'm keen to chat about your experiences and memories. Or perhaps you used to hang out at the Doghouse and see the ninjas around. Or maybe you did a stint at the Order of St Basil's and would be happy to share about your time there. Also looking to chat with people who personally knew the ninja’s leader’s father. To be clear, I'm definitely looking for actual people to talk to. So please message me if that is you. But feel free to obviously chat about the whole thing in the comments if that's your bag, and perhaps avoid saying the members names so this post doesn’t get flagged. cheers reddit.

Looking for any Hobart Ninjas

Hi, I'm a first time poster, looooong time lurker and, more importantly, a writer (sorry everyone. I know you all find writers annoying on reddit lol). I'm looking for past members of the Ninja group that was operating in Hobart from the late 80s until its (supposed) end in 1997 (I know some of the ninjas continued their practise after the ending). I'm keen to chat about your experiences and memories. Also looking for people who personally knew (were friends with, went to school with etc) the following men: Adam Clay, Jamie and Daniel Clark, Mark Weeding. Or perhaps you used to hang out at the Doghouse and see the ninjas around. Or maybe you did a stint at the Order of St Basil's and would be happy to share about your time there. Also looking to chat with people who personally knew Adam's father Geoffrey Clay. To be clear, I'm definitely looking for actual people to talk to. But feel free to obviously chat about the whole thing in the comments (and share the links to the old articles) if that's your bag because I'm sure some people might curious about what the hell I'm talking about. cheers reddit.

Eastern shore GPs good with mens mental health?

Hi there, as per title. My partner has had a bad run with GPs taking his possible depression seriously over the years and is pretty much on the verge of giving up.

Id like to suggest a last option to him but want to know that its a good option. Can anyone suggest a GP that is actually going to listen and not vaguely wave hands around lifestyle change etc?

Welcome drinks/recovery and wedding photoshoot

Hi! Just wondering if anyone can help with ideas on the following as I’m not a Tassie local and we’re having a destination wedding there😍

  • Welcome drinks location for a Friday afternoon 4-9pm in Hobart CBD for around 40-60 people like a wine bar/pub/something with a bit of an outdoor bit for a few kids to run around (is there anywhere with views of the harbour?)

  • Recovery drinks location (love Cascade brewery but was trying to think of somewhere more central to the CBD as this is where most of our guests will be staying

  • Any photoshoot location ideas with specific specific streets or specific buildings with that beautiful heritage look. Also locations for a landscape photo with a view of some beautiful scenery on a hill nearby

Thanks in advance!!
