Heidelberg Cakes

Has anyone been able to get in contact with Heidelberg cakes since it was announced that they were going into administration?

I'm a bit confused as their Facebook page made a post saying they had been "saved" by another local business.

Their website is down.

their emails are bouncing.

calls to their main phone have all rung out.

I've paid a deposit for a cake that is due in 2 weeks and getting concerned that this order won't be filled.

Bacon - Looking for best bacon that's ready to eat

Hi All, Quick question. Back in the olden days, when Standom ruled the meat scene in Adelaide, my parents were able to buy long strips of bacon with fat that was ready to eat. So I was looking for same now, after overhearing one of the customers asking for ready to eat bacon at the butcher. So far, no luck. All butchers have said to me, "you gotta cook it first", colseworth, IGA and aldi have no long strips ready to eat and only one that looks like diced ham that is ready to eat. Everything states " Cook product before consuming"

Interesting

Anyone else ever notice that near Edithburgh on the BOM radar there is almost always a red patch that just hovers over that area. It’s always had me curious if it’s a mistake on the bom radar or just something about that spot

Fresh Adelaide Gossip?!

Has anyone else seen the advertising truck on King William St outside the courts airing out some dirt about the Air Apartments and the state bank?

Keen to see how this one plays out.

Modern public transport problems need modern solutions.

We've all read the articles, and seen the problems ourselves.

- Most people don't live close to a train station, and rail networks are inflexible.
- Busses block traffic when stopped, or need dedicated lanes, and rarely run when convenient.
- Successive state governments have failed to implement any sort of ferry system.

But the solution has been under our noses the entire time. All we need is a government with the fortitude to embrace the future!

Instead of a bus only o-bahn, we build car o-bahns. Or Car-Bahns. For a one off, modest fee, you can have your car steering modified with side wheels. We can then build express Car-Bahns across the cbd and into the hills, passing over intersections and beneath entire suburbs. A gleaming, gossamer, express network that spans our magnificent city, with "interchanges" that allow motorists to join and leave the network with ease and convenience. A network that won't be interrupted by traffic lights and roadworks, and so safe that it's impossible to drive off the tracks and into a stobie pole. Soaring bridges that arch over the gridlocked traffic below like rainbows of light, and an underground network that will take you through the CBD at 100kph.

Public Transport for the private motorist.

Mind blown McDonald's Iced latte all sizes come with only 1 shot of espresso now? I swear the large size used to have 2 or 3.. Anyone can help me on this?

Recently had the large it was literally just milk I was shocked when I found out they just put more sugar syrup in the bigger sizes. So if you get a large it's 1 shot with 3x sugar syrup.... so you're better off saving money and buying a small

Orthodontist recommendations northern suburbs

Hey guys, I'm looking for an orthodontist, preferably in the northern suburbs. I'm on a slight budget, but can't stand my teeth anymore.

Kept seeing ads from Straight Smile Centre, but saw people on Reddit say to stay away? Any specific reason please let me know.

Cheers!

Living in North Adelaide

Hey, I have been always living in the southern suburbs, before or after Cross Road… recently I have purchased an old house in North Adelaide and plan to do some self renovation and choose to live next to the city for a change.

The question is, I never live in the North Adelaide (Post code 5006). So I asked some friends and got mixed feedbacks. Some say it’s the upper echelon place with retired millionaires; some say it has a high crime rate especially its near the city, so a lot of non residents will wondering around.

Maybe both are true, but I do want to ask if there any folks living in the North Adelaide and how do they feel about the safety around the neighborhood, is walking around during the night safe. Is there a lot of thief or break in? How they like about the lifestyle and amenity around?

Thank you.

Woolworths personal shoppers

Does anyone else feel like the shopping experience at Woolworths (not sure how Cole’s is) is getting shitter? I love the fact that they are providing convenient options for those who need it (busy/elderly/accessibility issues) but I’m constantly battling with the personal shoppers who just plonk their trolley in the middle and in the way. Surely they can innovate to make it easier for everyone, do something in the warehouse rather than the alleys where shoppers are??

To Adelaide or not to Adelaide

Hey team,
I'm looking to leave Melbourne and try somewhere new for a while, and I like the looks of Adelaide.
I'm planning checking it out for a week over February to see if I think its a good fit.
Where should I stay, what should I do, etc.

Im 30f, single and very much a city girlie who loves pilates, wine, food, etc.
TIA!

Market plaza question. Need help finding a vendor who used to be there.

There used to be a small vendor in the market plaza by the Adelaide Central Markets who sold the most amazing Asian style stuffed buns. The dough was soft and sweet, and there were multiple types of fillings both savoury and sweet. My fave was the chicken. It was only a small countertop as the shop front, and they faced north. Does anyone know if they have moved and have opened anywhere else? Also, what are the buns called? Please help, my daughter and have desperate cravings for some of these buns!

Balfours crisis alert

Why is no one talking about the great Balfours Custard Tart shortage happening right now? Coles hasn’t had any for a week now. Woolies don’t even sell them anymore but Coles always fully stocked everyday.

In store magnetic eyelashes advice and suggestions please

So I have last night plucked the majority of my eyelashes.. I was attempting glue ons and it just wasn't happening. I have some sort of keratin build up I believe and it is satisfying and feels better to have them plucked. I have hooded lids apparently which may have been why I was struggling sooooo hard. Glue was everywhere, lashes were trashed i don't know how you women that accomplish that everyday do it.... but now I'm lashless I'm going to need something simple, easy but still quality assured to use everyday. I can buy online but I need something today!
