So I'm getting older in life and things aren't the best but manageable, due to my current living situation and where I'm living in general now I have a lot of time on my hands and want to utilize that time to do something I really wanna do for once in my life. I have experience with RPG maker but not on my current machines, I do however have my sound software programs (FL, Soundforge) and am a decent writer (I'd like to think so at least lol). So I have most basic skills I need including basic coding so I feel like the next step would to be to put a basic overview of my vision together and then make some sort of funding page together.

Now I'm not gonna be able to provide photos or anything as part of the funding would be to re-get certain software but that said I know I could provide something visual within a few weeks after reaching a goal, I'd also need living expense money for 8-10 months well I'm not able to work and wait for school in September (I'm going back for a year to be a social worker). Aside from that id be a one man team and maybe hire someone to help with model designs and whatnot, I know I could get the game done within 18-24 months tho for sure as it would all I'd be working on till school and even once I start all my spare time could go into the game as well.

The game would essentially be a twist on the trails of life, I decided I wanted to make something that would have a compelling story as much as possible and something I'm intimate enough with that I'll know well so it's my life mixed with others to make a final result of events. So with the help of my buddies I've talked to this about have came up with a solid way to be mainly a fantasy RPG that makes a complete turn near the end to reveal that everything was not what it seems at all. Im confident the story would be impactful and without giving away what I mean by that I'm happy with what I have so far.

This all said how should I actually go about this, should I make placement holders for pictures on the initial crowd funding post also what's my best bet site for people to see and get backers from? Also when I'm making my write up for the post how much detail should I give away with the story as I know I can't just say I have this game but I can't say much about it lol. Will the game cost plus living expenses be reason enough to get everything started and good in the public's eye to back, like technically it's all to make sure the game gets done in time and allow me to focus solely on the creation without the worry of losing my place or a complete hault due to moving around or something. I know I'd need about 25-35k to pull everything off, thats 10gs to rent for a year, 15gs for a better set up, game maker software, packs, outside character design help and other game related expenses that allow room enough to have funding for just in case. Anything extra would just allow more paid options to assist the games creation and would go into the game regardless sooo I guess after doing the math 30k would be the safest number. Anyways all advice is welcome and if anyone has experience making games through funding gimmie a comment or DM with your experience through the process.

We are physicists, working at a reputable university. For the past many years, we have been researching various approaches to find the most effective solution for permanently sequestering carbon from CO2 and removing it from the system in a way that is cost-effective, environmentally safe, vital, and scalable.
