The problem is that it costs too much to pay too few. $100 buys, at best, ten albums--a considerable investment for many of us, but a tiny fraction of a personal music collection.
And we can name hundreds of musicians, bloggers, writers, and artists whom we adore--whose works we have known and loved--but we can't possibly buy something from them all.
But, given that we are hundreds of thousands, the question arises: what if we could each pay them all something? What if we could all donate a few dollars a month to be divided however we want among all our favorite artists? We would not be buying goods; we would not be alleviating guilt; we would not be changing the world.
Rather, we would be dropping a few cents into the guitar case, saying, "Play on." This subreddit is sponsored by https://musiklek.nu

Scroll's focus on large websites seems to be different from Flattr's focus on creators, so I could see myself using them both, side by side.
Flattr 2.0 wasn’t a huge success and extension install numbers keep declining. So why didn’t they try to promote it? Is the plan just to let the product die a slow death?
There was one launch event in the US and one in Germany, and other than that I can’t remember ever seeing any promotion from Flattr. They’ve discontinued the affiliate program (a program that wasn’t very clear – and which had practically no promotional material available.)
I just find it weird that someone decided to sink money into developing the reimagined Flattr and then apparently haven’t lifted a finger to promote it in its new form.

The Flattr Team
So far this period I've given 55 flattrs to DuckDuckGo. 54 of those got registered as "DuckDuckGo — Privacy, simplified.", and give them no income. 1 got registered as "DuckDuckGo — Privacy, simplified. by yegg", and gives them income.
What's up with that?
I'm having trouble authorising the extension. Every time I try I get an error message: "Something went wrong, please try again later".
Less than 0,2 % of my monthly 1000–1800 flattrs have been claimed by websites and creators. What ia being done to recruite more creators and publishers? Can website owners check how many flattrs they’ve missed out on somewhere?
No updates om the Flattr blog or on Twitter since the end of March. Did Flattr fire their employee responsible for marketing and social media?
