Everything about crowdsourcing.
Crowdsourcing is the practice of obtaining needed services, ideas, or content by soliciting contributions from a large group of people, and especially from an online community, rather than from traditional employees or suppliers.

Hello Everybody
Our team at Queen Mary University of London are developing a browser game that helps players practice their English and improve AI’s understanding of human language at the same time. The concept is a mixture of Language Learning Games and GWAPs (games with a purpose).
The game is mobile friendly! You can play on your phones or your computers.

If we can have 100 players play it for only 15 minutes this week (until level 3 or 4), it would be a great leap on our research. So if you like word games, or anything puzzly, please go for it!
We won’t bother you with follow-up emails unless you decide to subscribe yourself :)
Many thanks!
I need everyday problems that can be solved using engineering. I am not looking for the big things like water desalination so if you could send some ideas that would be fantastic.

Hello, I am student at Faculty of Information Technology BUT and I am working on my Bachelor Thesis. I am working on a Crowdsourcing project in which I want to create a dataset which will help widen knowledge in narrative similarity tasks. My web application is using movies for this purpose. Short description of app menu:
My movies - here you can add movies which you saw to your collection from database or add movie directly by imdbID if movie you searched is not in database yet.
Films to match - here you match your seleted movies one by one with movies which are considered similar by computations. Here you should pick one movie from listed ones and highlight passages which make them similar in both of them.
Keyword Match - here you either generate a random match or type in movie you desire (attention keyword match movie database is a lot smaller then previous one). Here you just decide if movie are/aren't similar and describe it why.
Keywords - here you generate a random movie and system generates it's keywords. Your task is to select valid keywords or type in another ones.
Other parts of menu are intuitive I think. If you have any problems feel free to contact me here or at annotation.game.supp@gmail.com
Address of application: https://annotation-game.firebaseapp.com/home

Curious how people go about crowdsourcing images, audio, video, etc.?
Where can you post a call for people to submit things of this nature?
Hello everyone, I am a Swedish journalist writing for union magazine Arbetsvärlden about online work and I am interested in interviewing anyone that wants to talk about their experiences. I am particularly interested in people having worked with AI training tasks. You can respond here or write to jonweman@gmail.com and you can of course remain anonymous if you prefer.
This Kickstarter campaign supports the production of Late Harvest. Late Harvest explores the backroads of the Deep South with a collection of photographic landscapes, portraits, and personal stories. Forest McMullin travelled through an often unnoticed part of the United States presenting nuanced conclusions that inform preconceived notions about the singular identity of the region. McMullin stayed away from large highways and wandered wherever chance and whim took him. He relied on paper maps, not GPS, and chose the roads he drove based on the width of the line - none too wide - and towns based on the size of font - none too large. The result is an incredible collection of images that are now being crowdfunded so that Late Harvest can be published as a book. Please consider supporting this campaign!

I have been doing a bit of testing and research and have interestingly found that google classroom can hold 1000 members per class. I am considering using it as a crowdsourcing effort to complete difficult problems.
Hi! I am looking for voice talents in my recording project. The project involves the collection of voice data from Americans/Canadians with English as their native language to train a speech recognition neural net (think Siri from Apple or Cortana from Microsoft). The only requirements for this project is a very quiet place to record, a mobile phone (Android or iOS operating system), and people who speak standard “American” English as their native tongue. The project is divided into two parts: a solo part and a duo part. The solo part involves the speaker recording 550 short sentences off a script provided by me into a recording app on a phone (takes less than an hour). The duo part involves recording a conversation with a partner (doesn’t matter what gender both the parties are) discussing 6 different common conversational topics (chosen from a list of 10 possible topics) for 13.5 minutes each. The solo part takes approximate 50 minutes while the duo part takes 80 minutes. Setup of the recording application (which is easily found on the app store) takes less than 10 minutes. Before recording you will be asked to provide a 10 second sample recording so my audio engineer can verify that your recording environment is indeed quiet and there is no ambient noise or electrical distortion, upon verification that your environment is indeed quiet you or you and your partner will begin recording immediately. Payment is $20 USD for the solo recording and $25 USD per person for the duo recording through Venmo after your recording is checked (usually within 24 hours but can take up to 3 days). Preference will be given to people who can complete both parts of the project.
For all interested parties contact me via PM.

Mental Health is a major issue in the United States. Soldiers returning from service are at even worse risk especially if they went to war. Most of these cases are left un treated, wether it be by the uneven access to appropriate mental health services, or by ex service members with low income wages not being able to pay for the high cost of supplemental health insurance plans. A number of veterans experience depression, loss of purpose, overwhelming family crisis, and more. These conditions lead to substance abuse, homelessness, and suicide. Suicide deaths is considerably high in the veteran population, whereas more than 6,000 veterans have killed themselves each year since 2008. The Department of Veterans Affairs estimates that at least 500,000 soldiers suffer serious emotional problems, and approximately 20 die by suicide every day. Of those 20, officials say that an estimated 14 are not receiving regular care from the VA, and they struggle to find a solution as the percentage of suicide continues to increase year over year. Veterans that do not rely primarily on the VA health care systems to address their mental health needs once they return home from combat, do not have easy access to critical crisis-intervention services. This is why Those In Need Charities, Inc, a non-profit organization located in Miami, Florida is creating The Soldiers Mind project. With the help from the local Vet Center we will gain access to soldiers returning home from service and offer mental health services free of charge. We will provide for six months one on one with one of our volunteer counselors, and access to group sessions afterwards. With these sessions it will help the transitioning soldier deal with the struggles of coming back into the civilian life, and try to identify, and treat any mental health issues they may have. I myself am an OIF/OEF Iraq Veteran, and understand the troubles one faces trying to adjust to life outside of the military. This is why our team has decided to devote ourselves to helping our hero’s. With the donations we will secure a facility with staff, and connect with our volunteer counselors to begin assisting our vets. They deserve our help after the sacrifices they made to defend our freedom. I pray that you will donate to our cause and help us battle mental health in our veterans. Together we can make a difference, together we can save a veterans life.
If you or a veteran you know is struggling with mental health, please contact the Veterans Crisis Line at 800-273-8255

I have had an idea that incorporates proximity marketing and advertising a company recruiting page. The only problem, I don't know where to start with getting something like this off the ground. I know that several carriers in the US have restricted proximity marketing in the OS.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Our local small town theatre is available for rent for $150. When you rent the theatre for private screenings you can bring your own dvd/blu-ray. I am considering starting a movie club where you raise money to rent it for club gatherings. This is just a way to show old films that would never play anywhere in our region and maybe have some discussion afterwards. I’d like to be able to post a listing that says something along the lines of the movies name, the date and time, and then everyone who donates at least $10 gets in. I’d like it to close when it reaches $150 because I don’t want there to be extra money and if it doesn’t reach $150 I’d like everyone to be refunded. Are there any crowdsourcing sites that would work for this sort of thing?
Hey - I'd love to hear from others about my platform I recently launched, Recruitsy. https://www.recruitsy.com
It's the first crowd sourced rating and review platform for staffing agencies and recruiters. Think Yelp! but 100% focused on staffing industry.
The goal is to establish a platform of trust and transparency in an industry that lacks both :) This gives candidates a voice to share their experiences with great staffing agencies as well as employers to rate their experience with their staffing partners.
Take a look - let me know;
