A subreddit for all communists, and those interested in communism, to discuss issues surrounding the world today.

Communism- an ideology and philosophy defined by a classless, stateless society.

This subreddit is open to all communists, and anyone else interested in communism. It is to discuss news, events and issues relevant to all communists. We do not wish to be converted, nor to debate the merits of capitalism, there are plenty of other subs for that. It is not a place for bigots to use as a platform for their ideas either. Therefore, any racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, nationalist, classist, ableist, or any other hateful comments will be removed, and will result in a ban upon second transgression.

Subreddit Guidelines

  1. Absolutely no oppressive speech or supporting/apologising for/advocating/minimising oppression of any kind. This includes but is not limited to racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, xenophobic, classist, ableist, islamophobic or any other form of systemic prejudice. The comment will be removed, and you will receive one warning. Continued behaviour will resort in a ban.

  2. No personal attacks against other subscribers, this means no insulting them on the basis of their gender, ethnicity, nationality, age or other arbitrary characteristic that isn't relevant to the discussion at hand. Questioning their ideology, going through their post history and holding them accountable for things they've said in the past is not considered a personal attack.

  3. This is a subreddit for Communists of all kinds, whether Marxist or Anarchist. If you're not a Communist you're still welcome to look around, post questions and participate—with the understanding that we don't want to be "converted" or debated on the basic principles of Marxist or Anarchist theory, ideology, analysis or critiques of Capitalism. Don't derail a discussion you disagree with if you have nothing constructive to add.

  4. All Communists are welcome to comment and post on this subreddit. Therefore, refrain from engaging in sectarian behaviour such as insults (calling Trotskyists traitors, calling Anarcho-Communists lifestylists, or Ecosocialists tree-huggers), or claiming that people of a certain branch of Communism (such as Marxist-Leninist-Maoists, or Anarcho-Syndicalists) aren't actual Communists. We all seek Stateless, Classless, Moneyless Communism.

  5. Blatant attempts at trolling, flaming, or brigading will be removed and the user(s) responsible banned outright.

  6. Do not complain about posts whose source you don't like. If the article is questionable, talk about it in the thread. If you think the article is oppressive in any way shape or form, report it, down-vote and for even faster action message the moderators.
