Hey, I am a juggler and I was curious if anyone in the aerial community might know of a single rope upright hold that would allow my hands to be free for juggling? Thank you all so much for your time and help!
I want to do a sport. I’ve tried dance and I wasn’t super good at the quick steps and matching up with other people. I’m 17 and really want to invest time into something I can perform or compete in. There is a place near where I’m moving that teaches aerial silks, trapeze, and Lyra from beginner to advanced. Should I try it? I’m not super strong so that’s my main concern but it seems really fun and like a great form of exercise.
Hello every lovely people on this subreddit! This isn't really a common post here, but hope it can stay. I've been working on a novel about circus life and trying to collect all sorts of information about this topic. Is there any chance I could DM someone to ask some questions about this job and the whole lifestyle? It would be greatly appreciated!
Hey all , back here with a great update, Michelle a.k.a. FlowMies has now reached the finals of Hollands Got Talent with this semi-finals act: https://youtu.be/bv0Kzt8VlVo?si=SxLbch-_GNnL9grJ
Enjoy all! Coming friday is the finale on Dutch TV, sooo exciting! <3
What’s the process of getting to do acts in a circus but not for acrobatics. Like an act with dogs doing crazy tricks. How do I you find the people? Ive always loved the circus, clowns, etc and I love teaching fun and silly tricks to my dogs and have seen dogs in circus acts all the time. I think it’s so cool and would love to learn how to get into something like that.
Pic of one of the goofballs for attention
Found this in a presentation about the history of circus costumes. Apparently Edison was “quite taken” with Charmion
Hello, I've been looking into going to more circus shows and wondered what to look for. I just went to my first show with Ringling Bros Barnum & Bailey and really enjoyed it, and Cirque de Soleil is visiting my area too so I was going to fet tickets for that. I was wondering if there are other traveling circuses that are worth going to, and if there are circuses catered more for adults (not a necessity). I also would love to see one with people dressed as clowns, but it seems like no one does that anymore. I love clowns and clown makeup so much, and I really loved the show I saw!! Thank you!!
Despite tweaking my shoulder I think I’m doing ok with cradle!! It’s so fun, I can’t wait to perform it
I'mHey everybody how's it going.I feel I need to transition from an instructor to someone conducting my own business so as to stop the gross advantage taken of us by the established maestri (it's kind of expected but so hard to deal with)
I'm really scared and unconfident but also intellectually I know my skills are in high demand and I just need to package them as an easily consumable product.the country I live in is really racist and exhausting but I don't know where else to move where there are jobs and English speakers (Europe, america seems to be impossible) there is a feeling that people want to learn English but they are unmotivated
Intellectually I know everything yet years and years are fading by where I am plagued by inaction , and the inaction is like a snowball effect.
Aside from agonizing suffering that causes a big kick in energy ( a fight for your life situation) how would you recommend I bypass this over intellectualization? I find it's depressing me and depressive energy I'm almost certain will lead to complete failure.I found myself to be unsuccessful at sales because of over empathy now it's over thinking.I've been kicked good and hard by my industry so I'd like to make good on it now (making 50 bucks a month for 5/6 days a week maximum 37-40 hours some weeks of running after kids) so I am no stranger to backbreaking work.
Anyone else depressive and successful in starting their own business teaching or establishing a school ? I'm 26 with 5 years experience teaching
if you're typing something cynical I've got another idea for you: don't :D Troll somewhere else
Hi! I have a show coming up out in Texas and am looking to source some pads, does anyone have resources for equipment rentals in the area??
This is going to sound CRAZY I'm 2 months pregnant and I'm a circus performer. My job makes me travel a LOT. I change the country to showcase in every two to four weeks and get to be at my house for like a week every two months. I am an Italian citizen but I'm a resident in Germany. I'm looking forward to working until around the last two weeks of gestation. Of course I already stopped performing but I'm still working BTS and I'm still going to travel until the very last moments of my pregnancy. By keeping in mind that I could find myself in Europe, Asia or America at the time of the birth, should I choose an exact country to give birth to or should I keep it up to the fate? This sounds REALLY crazy but I am not sure if I want my child to be a german citizen since I'm Italian and my husband is Japanese. We are currently debating if I should give birth in Tokyo but I'm really not sure about this. Also, sorry for my bad english but it's my 4th language haha I'm still learning.

Hey everyone! So proud and happy to share my gf's fire performance here for Holland's Got Talent! Hope you can all enjoy it. These are exciting weeks, since she is still in the race. The show is currently on nation TV here in the Netherlands.
Wish you all a great day and would love to read comments. Warm regards Elwin
Hello there. I'm a cyr wheel artist, but also have pretty extensive background in aerial work. I've been doing local gigs for about a decade now mostly as a side hustle. I'm getting older and have a bucket list item of doing a cruise ship contract. I'm working on getting materials together, but I was wondering if people who have done cruise ship work--circus specifically--have experiences to share. How did you get the gig, what did you do, how long was the contract, how did it go?
