def a lot harder than it looks omggg
The FEAR Iโve had and still have in this move is crazy because getting out of it is new to me, getting into it is not so bad. Pole goal for December conquered and now weโre onto trying to learn Allegra ๐ช
So a few weeks ago I posted about being in a security lockdown where I am from and missing two weeks of class. It was a stressful time as we live in a high conflict area of the world. Up until then I was taking up to three pole classes a week.
The situation is back to normal (well not really but normal enough that we can leave our homes) and I returned to class but I felt like I was starting all over again. I was soo weak and when class was over my arms were sore. The difference is so noticeable. I look at videos from a few weeks ago and compare them to my last class and the contrast is astounding to me. Where did my strenght go? Does anyone have experience with this? I mean is two weeks of not taking class enough to explain this regression? During the lockdown, I did pilates three or four times a week and som weight training as well (kept me sane too).
I have a few leads:
My cycle. My return to class coincided with the end of my cycle so I am wondering if that has something to do with it though it's never been this bad.
Stress. Lockdown situations are very stressful. Could my stress level have affected my strenght?
Not being able to train on the pole. But it was only for two weeks?
Maybe it's a combination of all three. Tomorrow I go back to class so I will see if this continues. Hopefully not.
I just started pole and I am getting bad blisters, is there anything like a tape or something I can put on my hands to help prevent/not make my sore spots worse? Thanks!
Lots of refining to do but omg!!!
Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears.
I'm a beginner but can do Superman, knee release, crucifix, chair, climb, etc., so I have some conditioning/muscle memory. I am STRUGGLING with inverts though.
The good: I can do an inverted crucifix by launching my outside leg with enough momentum to get upside down. I can hold the pose with no problem (thank you thunder thighs ๐ฆต).
The bad: For basic invert where I lift my inside leg/hip first, I cannot get any higher than 1-2 feet (already tried adjusting my grip and hip position).
The ugly: When attempting a basic invert, my back hurts A LOT, like pulling a muscle. It hurts kind of in between my shoulder blades at the very bottom. I also feel this when I try to do fan kicks.
The investigation: Leading theory is I have zero core strength so maybe my back is taking over? My pole instructor suggested that maybe I'm using the wrong back muscles but is also unsure.
Has anyone else gone through this/has any ideas?
How to get to a professional dancer level? How do the supertalented train and how they got so good?? Do they have to train everyday or what is the secret?
I am sooooo exited for this journey to begin with you guys!!! ๐

for starters my build is mid size but my weight is 214ish๐ฅฒ okay so Iโve recently got an xpole for home because for yearssss iโve known I wanted to pole dance. iโve never taken classes (there arenโt any near me, agoraphobic, + financially I canโt) I havenโt ever genuinely worked out, lived a bit of a sedentary lifestyle within these last few months, but saw this as a great opportunity to get active while helping with my anxiety/panic disorder & also learning cool shit lol. I got it installed & played around a bit on it, took a rest day as my arms were killing me lol, then used the next day as an actual pole day (bout an hr of โconditioningโ, I use quotes because iโm not sure if I was doing anything right) & another rest day after that. I figure I mustโve been doing SOMETHING right because my legs and arms are feeling it๐ฉ๐ญ anyways, I was just wondering โขwhat workouts & conditioning I should be doing w/ or w/o the pole? (vids & influencers are amazing help, seeing what I should do helps) โขhave any of my bigger women seen differences in their bodies after some time? (size/inch wise as Iโll still have weight just in muscle rather than fat) โขwhat are some ways yโall bring down some of this soreness? (I know it wonโt go fully but WHEW๐ ) itโs somewhat hard to find good info because a lot of the folks I see online are pretty skinny & donโt have to build up AS much strength due to them not carrying as much weight (I love that for yโall so much, yโall look so majestic๐).
I hope this is ok to post here! I am a perfume collector and I made this faux ad for Beyoncรฉโs new fragrance, Cร Lumiรจre. Very new to pole dancing and Iโm just having fun being a beginner right now :)
I recently bought this crash mat after seeing it on amazon on sale for $110 and did not think it would be great quality due to the price being so low for a 3.5in crash mat but it turned out to be really great! The mat is exactly as described/pictured other than the color being slightly darker than the picture. It is sturdy and appears well made. I just received it so can't speak on longevity but so far I think it's great for a mat this size and price. For some reason I can't insert the picture but if anyone wants to see a picture, please let me know and I can upload it in another post. Crash mat
Ok, talk to me, friends. Are you also feeling like your ability is plateauing or is it just me? Iโm an intermediate dancer. No trouble inverting or doing a few more advanced moves even, usually. But lately, I have days when simple choppers are hard and I canโt get my hips up. Iโve even lost the ability to do basic things like jasmine to Superman (although I can get in Superman easily from jamilla, which is more difficult.) Any ideas? Is this just part of the process or is nature telling me to throw in the towel? Itโs really weird too because in the gym Iโm actually stronger/ lifting more weight than I ever have. Help?!
Currently in my luteal phase and every month it hits me like a truck and i feel so weak ๐๐ i usually just do low flow and floor work but i have performances coming up so ive been trying to train anyway but.. that's how that session ended ๐ ๐ i think it's important to show the bad days too bc everyone has them no matter how long it's been.
I like this shapy so much! Did you ever tryed it? ๐
