Are there any contortionists who've come back from an abdominal surgery? I've done contortion for a good few years now. I am considering sergury but I'm so worried about my surgery taking away all that I've achieved.

Is it safe to do self taught contortion?

I watched videos claiming that Sofia Dossi, Anna Mcnulty and other contortionists were self taught and did many things on their own like how some people learns cooking, painting and sewing on their own.

I'm wondering if it's possible and if it's safe to be a self taught contortionist. Is it true or false? Friends, who doesn't do any sports, says to me it must be unsafe. There's no contortionist in town to coach me, so I'm curious if I can do this on my own or if I should just find another hobby.

Right now my goal is splits and to stand bridge. I'm a F24. I do things slowly. If I progress, I might consider new moves. Not sure if it's a good or bad idea...

Group lessons in Dallas?

Hi, I'm very interested in starting contortion, but also very interested in not hurting myself. Would love to find group lessons but coming up empty. Would love to do in person classes but open to virtual as well. I've found a lot of private virtual lessons but spending over 100 per lesson isn't really feasible and there doesnt seem to be a lot of virtual groups. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks!

How to achieve neck flexibility.

Recently a friend and I have been interested in being flexible through out whole body like a contortionist. We did gymnastics when we were younger and somewhat self taught. We recently have been very interested in becoming more flexible with the neck. I know there's some danger to that but we know our limits. I've been looking all over some videos but haven't really found any of the nature of what we're trying to achieve. We would love any advice that could help us accomplish this. Thanks in advance.
