Tear Drop Tutorial Anyone?

I am making a 3D motion piece but I am pretty new to X-Particles. I have been looking for this very specific simulation tutorial but it's almost impossible to look through all the liquid tutorials. I am trying to make a single tear drop fall from a marble statue and I don't know how to. Please let me know if you guys know any tutorial out there.

Scale uniformly in Transform and Timeline?

Is there a way to a way to select or link the Scale X,Y & Z fields in the Coordinates>Transform panel in order to scale uniformly, then another question, can I combine the XYZ parameters in the timeline so I can just have one curve instead of three for an animated object? Thanks!

WTF is wrong with Maxon?

Anyone has any insights on why Maxon is hell bent in leaving freelancers out with their outrageous price? Especially this year that the industry is hurting so much, paying their absurd cost is very hard to justify.

Best way to make a building looks like it's been snowed on?

Having trouble thinking of the best way to approach this. Particles? Material? Geo? Seems like each way is going to be extremely tedious so I'm a little hesitant to commit. Anyone done this before and found a good way? I'm using redshift, and am familiar with x-particles if anyone has any clever solutions using either.

Thanks!

What's wrong with this render?

Hi, I'm struggling with this render. What's wrong with it? Maybe too much noise in that background (too many elements?). The colors? Maybe more depth of field? Changing lights position? Idk I need help ahaha

Cyber Monday week

… but all I want is basic Cinema4D for simple 3D, no MG, no Render engine xtra’s. Not a lifetime of debt.

Copy or Export Animation path

Is it possible to export an objects animation path as a spline and use it elsewhere in another C4D file?

The animation I have at the moment has been manually edited keyframes fyi.

Any idea why is it like this ?

https://preview.redd.it/janboyhjgg4e1.png?width=1557&format=png&auto=webp&s=835a77e12a416642ff29f22fe2be7bace295e87d

left is the 3d viewport and to the right is the redshift render viewport, this box was originally made in another c4d file but when i copy paste it here the textures look off, any idea as to why this might be happening?

How to burn HUD frame number into redshift render

Hi everyone,

Is there a way to burn the frame number into a redshift render? Maybe using an AOV or something simpler?
Thanks

Black Pixel flicker in hair simulation C4D/Octane

Hello folks! Does anyone know what could be causing those black pixel flickers in my scene? I am using Octane and c4d 2025. Dynamics is turned on -the hair is being moved by a light turbulence field. I've included a snippet of the animation with the flickering and some images of my render settings.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated

Change the current subscription to get Black Friday Discount?

Did someone here have any luck with getting the discount as an exisiting subscriber? Everyone should know by now, that you can do this easily every year with Adobe but I tried contacting Maxon and they seem to not give me any discount on my existing subscription.

They said I can buy a new subscription with the discount and still pay the other one until it expires...

HDR Light Studio Price Increase

I've been using HDR Light studio under the indie license for a while, and today, I've just found out that they discontinued their indie license and pumping the price up to £360 a year. I guess I've been paying around £120 a year, but this increase seems a bit high. Their new annual subscription fee is more than the cost of many render engines. Is it worth paying the new fee? I feel like I have to say goodbye to the plugin. I know there is inflation, cost of living crysis etc. but as a freelancer it is getting harder to increase my rates thus covering these expenses.

TL/DR: WTF is going on with software industry?!

Is there a way to use 3DS Max viewport (mouse) navigation in Cinema 4D?

Hi all, recent convert to C4D as a long-time 3DS Max user, and the viewport navigation is proving difficult for me to pick up...

I really like the capability to just navigate the viewport using the mouse (without the need for any keyboard keys to pan, scrool, zoom etc). I have a Logitech MX Master3 so it's designed to have a lot of capabilities built into the mouse, and the MMB works just fine and this is what i'd like to use to navigate.

So, this is what i'm trying to achieve:

- Is there a way to assign the left/right mouse clicks to a shortcut. When in command manager, the right-click doesn't work!

- Is there a way to keep the 3DS Max way of viewport navigation somehow when using C4D? This frees up my left hand to hover over my most used shortcut keys, whereas the C4D way of doing things seems extra complicated.

I can't seem to use the command manager to set up the mouse buttons as shortcuts for the viewport controls? Does anyone have any ideas, or perhaps i'm just doing it wrong?

How do I get all my particles to stick to the collider via Surface attract?

So far it works for the most part but some of the particle trails are still going off my mesh surface. Is there any trick to making sure they always stay on the surface? Also some of them are "poking" through the geometry.

Here is an example: https://imgur.com/a/oZbS1db

Animation Layers in Cinema 4D

Maya has an animation layer system, that lets you blend two animations. (Shown here https://youtu.be/QLUdaLrL3Eo?si=G0qH1bv\_UjRK8gq6&t=124)

Does Cinema 4D have this? I can find allusions to it being a possibility in the manual, but I can't figure it out. Sounds like they are in the process of adding this feature to Blender now too...

i modeled a trophy in Cinema 4d lite. brought it into AE with my own comp and it disappears

i modeled a trophy in Cinema 4d lite. brought it into After Effects, chose "comp camera" under camera project settings within the c4d model (in AE) and then added a 24mm camera in AFter Effects and the trophy disappears. I thought I had lined up my trophy at the zero zero coordinates in Cinema 4d. so how do i get my camera to find the 3d model in After Effects when the camera is making it disappear (because its probably going somewhere crazy in z space due to the AE camera)

yes I went to control K in After Effects and under 3d renderer i chose 'cinema 4d'. are there any tutorials you could recommend to help me figure this out?

How can I blend 2 materials in Redshift?

I learned from a tutorial how to use the Material Blender node with two Reference nodes, and a Curvature node and Ramp node as a mask, but now I just want to blend two materials and instead of mask, I just need a node that has settings to control balance of the two materials, but I don't know which node that would be. Or if I should blend textures instead of materials, that's OK, too. Specifically, I want to have an image texture with a very shiny metallic surface. If there's a simpler way to do that that will OK, too. Thanks!

Any creatives/artists here who want to collaborate on a short film?

Hi! Hope I can post this here. I am based in India. I will be directing a live-action short film in the coming months, and was wondering if there are any folks here who want to collaborate. Essentially looking to connect with creative folks outside my bubble with a great eye or ear / niche taste (artists, actors, writers, cinematographers, photographers, designers, music makers, editors, title designers, animators, etc.) who if nothing else, can opine on the script and give any suggestions or references.

If anybody is interested, do email (with anything you've made or been a part of or what caught your eye recently!). Contact: nimbuxpani@gmail.com

Feel free to dm for more info.

Fastest RedshiftClay Render settings?

Hello guys! How do you make preview / production renders with the fastest output per frame? (Using either Redshift Clay or any other method)

I need to create animation render consisting of ~ 300 frames of a really object heavy scene. Currently it takes around 50sec per frame but would like to cut it down significantly.

Any tips & what has worked for you before? In Blender I always used Eeve for these quick preview renders.

Example included.
