Anyone has idea how to make this blue highlights effects that shows up before each part pops up?
Hi all, sorry for the most likely dumb question. I am following a lesson that i found online through effectron or something along those lines. when i do my first render if doesnt save to the path i selected (in fact i dont think it saves anywhere) - could this be because it is just a single frame?
also : i have attached a screen shot showing three images, one being the viewport, another being a the renderviewport , and a third being an image i saved directly through the renderviewport -all three are different, i undertstand why the viewport is different then the render, but i do not understand why the image i saved from the render is different then the render?
also when i rendered the image i actually expected it to look closer to the final image that was saved ..
Hi, I need to deliver some shots in c4d, so I'm assembling my alembics and everything and there are a few very high poly meshes from houdini with their attributes stored in vertex colors. When I read those in material, redshift takes forever before starting to render, and minor changes force it to do the 'extracting geometry' step again which, as mentioned, takes so long I'm not sure if I can keep my sanity.
in some instances, I could bake the attributes to texture, and using uvs and textures is .. well, not awfully fast, but bearable. But that's not always an option. So... does anyone have any experience with this and knows what's wrong - and more importantly, how to fix it?
Thanks
I am always looking for some ways on how to improve my speed/quality workflow in Redshift and Cinema 4D, so I would love to see some of your render settings and things you do to improve your render quality or speed. My GPU is not the newest anymore, so I need to find a good balance between speed and quality so I came up with these render settings in my starting scene.
I'll start with mine. Here are my 4 render settings that I always switch between depending on current use:
What are the settings in your starting scene to make sure you have a smooth workflow from beginning to end without wasting any time of settings up render settings from the ground up each time?
Hi everyone, I’m considering having a 3D animated trailer created for a project I’m working on, and I was wondering if anyone here has experience with this type of work. Could you give me an idea of what the cost might be? Any information or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
I want to emit smoke and particles from moving areas of an animated character.
I cannot get my textures to appear in Adobe After Effects 2024 when I import a OBJ made in Cinema4Dr21.
I have baked the textures.
Checked the .mtl file paths content
What am I missing?
If I import the C4D File via Cineware it looks OK.
I cant log in at all . Is it just me
Why or when do you use cuts for edge and corner sharpening under subdivision instead of subdivision weighting?
I’m new to c4d so apologies for incorrect or confusing terminology. Im trying to animate a twist on a model I’ve made. I go to the start of my timeline, add a key frame, move further into the timeline, add a new key frame and increase the twist amount. However, the twist is now the latest twist angle I set, regardless of where I am in the timeline.
When I use this technique on the camera angle, it works and animates, it’s just things like this that don’t work. Not sure what I am doing wrong?
Everytime I make a new scene I have to manually turn off the workplane grid, the axis, etc. Is there a way to save my preset as Default so that I don't have to manually do this every single time?
Just please state weather you do Mograph or Product rendering, and do you go after realistic render?
If you are feeling extra generous and want to elaborate on why do you use them (or not the others u deem redundant), feel free.
Thx
Hi
Cinema4D 2024.4.0 won't start, anyone else have the same problem?
As far as I can tell from the event viewer, I'm getting this error and it crashes as soon as it starts.

2024.4 specific problem, downgraded to 2024.1 and was able to start.
Of course I've contacted Maxon support for assistance, but it's never resolved.
If anyone else has had the same problem as me and solved it, please let me know.
The things I've tried with support are
-Reinstalling Cinema4D
Reinstalling MaxonOne
-I have updated my GeForceStudio drivers.
-Clean install of GeForce drivers.
-Delete GeForceExperience.
-Delete the preferences folder of Cinema4D2024.
I could not get it to start after doing this.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Hey all, I have this fabric texture on a shirt I’m making, is there a way to easily get the fabric to look consistent?
Also the purple is meant to be a patch, is there an easy way in a redshift material for me to block out that part of the texture node, maybe with an alpha or something? I feel like I know what I need to do just can’t find the right terminology to google my answer.
I think a smarter person than me should come up with an established workflow for this. I've been trying my best but I am sure someone could come up with workflows for viscosity, filling volumes and details like foam. I really think this new particle system has huge potential.
So I have these keyframes which are repeated using the "repeat after" function, but now I want to make the rest of the keyframes editable since I want to adjust them individually. How can I do this?
[Paid] Are there any senior C4D artists here offering mentorships for intermediate artists?
Hi I'm an intermediate C4D artist I am looking to hire a tutor / reviewer for my current work so I can get better. I probably need a review session once a month for the rest of the year or something. If anybody is accepting students please let me know I will happily compensate for your time if you help me achieve the next level.
Please comment with portfolios below I'll pick somebody in the next 1-2 days or maybe multiple instructors. The style needs to somewhat align with mine or at least have technical skill way beyond what I can do. Thank you for your time. Sample work below I want to get better in all areas. I do mostly music videos, want to do more motion graphics and commercial work and need help with camera work, transitions, and any other blindspots an instructor could help me identify.
Portfolio Example:
I’m new to cinema4d (trying it out as a usual blender user), and i’m confused about how to download Octane for c4d?
Is it true that there is no trial version? Octane for c4d is only through the subscription on OTOY?
