I am trying to do an assignment for a class that requires I blur certain people out of the video. I'm having a problem with all these little floating blur spots before/after they are in the frame, and I want to know if there's a way to time these masks to only appear when the person is in frame.
I am extremely beginner level to Adobe products, so please, explain it in as "stupid" terms as possible for me. Thanks.
Ive recently been getting back into AE and i genuinely have constantly just been running into problems with slowness. Ill make a comp with like 12 layers maybe like 15 maybe 25 if you include the pre comp. And my computer with a ryzen 3700x, 16 gb ram, and 3070 will lag like crazy. Like genuinely what kinda of computer could i possibly require for this. If blender can render 6 million polys with lighting on this then how the hell cant i run a few 2d images.
Like honestly im thinking it might be that one of my pre comp layers is too heavy but isnt it the pre comps purpose to optimize those layers. I mean its already a pain in the ass because it crops it so i cant do anything like motion tile on the background then pre comp and add effects over it. I can only motion tile the entire pre comp which just makes it completely pointless.
Like it really shouldnt take me 3 hrs to make and render a 15 sec clip entirely because im bottlenecked by the fact that i cant even see what im making.
How the hell do people pay for this.
I was wondering if anyone had ideas on how this was made. It appears super simple but I noticed the color almost appeared liquid like with its movement and interactions with the other colors so it's kinda stumped me. I think it might be close to that apple event logo recreation but it's not as vibrant. What do you think?
Hi Everyone, I've been learning and playing around with After Effects from 2017 (17 back then), getting insights from various sources - SonduckFilms, Avnish Parker, Manuel Does Motion on YouTube, Louay Zambarakji on Udemy, and of course this subreddit over the years. I've done a considerable amount of small animation/video (using AE) for a few projects and clients here and there, but I always felt that I've never really utilized the full potential of this amazing software. So after a big break (2+ years, I focused more on other aspects of video production), I decided to jump in again to work on a proper project and build a solid portfolio in Motion graphics using AE.
The entire video predominantly (95%) consists of AE work. Would really appreciate if you could throw in your honest feedback and rating. And I'm just a year old into a professional career (after 2 long college degrees) in video production/branding, so your feedback will mean a lot in refining my skills and incorporating more of AE in my professional work.
Thanks
Hello everyone. Anyone can teach me how achieve this effect? I'm thinking a dash line, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to do the effect, where the scale and the opacity changes for each circle. Is there any way I can do this with expression. Thanks for helping me!
so i have 3 m.2 ssds that i will be installing in the new pc i am building for AE. t705 2tb, 990 pro 2tb, and another 990 pro 2tb. So my question is that can i use t705 for os and apps, 990 pro 2tb for media, and the other 990 pro for scratch disk/media cache? If anyone has any better recommendations please let me know. I am using this build for After effects, Premiere Pro, and Blender.
Here are the specs im going with for my new pc build:
CPU: Intel core ultra 9 285K RAM: 192GB corsair 5200MHz CL38 GPU: RTX 4060 (for now - will upgrade it to a rtx 5090 in the future as i like to game and love creating scenes in blender as well) Mobo: Z890 proart PSU: 1200W Super flower leadex platinum Case: Fractal design meshify 2 Cpu cooler: arctic 360 Fans: silent wings pro 4 x4 (120mm) Storage: 1x T705 2TB 2x 990 Pro 2TB
anyone who wants to help me out thanks i greatly appreciate it!
Is there a way to make a title that would be swept away by wind?
As in, text that's blown away like dust or sand, similar to how title of the engine is swept away here at 0:13 seconds.
I'm not quite sure if it's 100% After Effects, or some other software, but AE is the only soft I've got available atm, so I wonder if that effect can be created within it, or I should look for something else.
So when I preview my video, the rendering causes some frames to slow down at somewhat random intervals and at somewhat random intensities.
I've decided that I actually really like this effect, and I want to actually put it in my project proper. What would be the best way to achieve this? I'm assuming though some time-remapping expressions.
I don’t have AE so I don’t know
I have been using parenting or bao bones for collage characters or raster image animations.
It has been fine with simple animation and get the job done quickly.
But when I try to do a bit more complicated character animation, I struggle. Maybe I don't know how to animate them yet.
So I am thinking to get a character animation plug-in for collage or raster images.
I rarely work with vector art, so can anyone please recommend the plug-in you like for collage or raster images?
I know there are DUIK, limber 2, rubberhose 3, and moho.
I head good things about Moho but it is totally different software. But I am not sure if that works well for my workflow with AE since it will be hard to adjust animation with other assets in AE once I render the animation in Moho and import it to AE.
But I am open to any options that will make my life easier.
Would appreciate any recommendations!
I'm making templates for a video I'm making and I want to make a MOGRT that is animated the whole way. I've set up the in and out points on the timeline, I want the "paused" part be animated using the non protected area in the timeline.
Is it possible?
Hi everyone,
I’m a freelancer, and I’m currently looking for an expert video editor with at least 2 years of experience to join me on various projects. Due to a recent surge in workload, I can’t handle everything on my own, and I’m seeking someone who can help manage the high demand.
To give you an idea of what I’m looking for, here are some references to the style and quality I need:

Best regards,
when i'm working on the video on after effects, it's completely fine but when i watch the rendered product it's really sped up and it doesn't even render all of the audio--it just cuts randomly. i'm sure the fact that i changed my video to 9fps is the problem, but i really don't know how to fix it.
if you have an answer, please explain it to me like im 5. i'm a little new to video editing!
Im trying to recreate these bubble looking things in After Effects and I was wondering how to it (I already know CC Bubbles, but I want to know how to replicate the trail)
Hi everyone, what is the best way to remove an element from a video in AE?
it is a light pole in front of a building that appears little by little and is not immediately in the scene entirely.
I tried doing a mask > track mask and then the content generative fill but the result is poor even by putting reference frames.
I mean if I need an effect to make a video in adobe premier, should I record the audio, make the video first and then make the effect to combine it or what should I do? how to make everything match together?
I'm editing some videos using Capcut but the captions really lack some nice features and cannot be customized much using capcut. I know people using premiere Pro can save the captions as graphics and then import them in AE for further editing. Is there a way to do that from Capcut to AE ?
I have a client who needs me to create a screen comp to go onto a laptop with a green screen. They asked for just the alpha so they could color correct the original shot and drop the alpha on top. For this one shot there is a hand that goes in front of the screen and by dropping the alpha on top, that will cover the hand.
Usually, I'd be the one doing the final grade and composite and could put the screen under the shot, but someone else is doing that for them and maybe doesn't know how to do it.
Is there a way in AE to create the screen for the laptop, but with the alpha having the cutout of the hand that is in front of the screen?
