I'm working on a project with shared files, we need an unmult that will work the same with both PC and Mac. Currently we have issues with KNSW Unmult (only works on PC) and Mekajiki Unmult (only works on Mac). I know Universe Unmult would work but as far as I know you can only get it by paying for red giant universe which is $214. I know there is also a native way to do an unmult (Shift Channels/Remove Color Matting) but we are having issues with that not working right.

I am new to After Effects and saw many tutorials to edit videos but those require plugins that are expensive for me. Can you please tell me if it's possible to do good transitions and edits without the plugins. Or any other alternatives?

I have a project where I require to use CC Light Ray for a shot. Loving how the light gets animated based on the moving elements.

Now I wanted to changed the light into a redder color, but in order to do that I had to ticked off Color from Source. Which stops it from following the motion of the elements now.

Is there a way to change the color while maintaing that neat effect?

This probably has been asked before, but I can’t find an answer: do older AE versions (2020 and below) not work on the Mac Studio M2 Max!? I’ve been trying to still so many older versions and nothing is working no matter what I do. I need an older version so I can use the Twixtor and Magic Red plugins but nothing works. Only the 2024 AE version installs and works successfully in it.

I have footage with a fisheye lens and left the stabilizer for my camera on resulting in the fisheye vignette to move around in the footage. Is there any way to reverse the stabilization or add a stabilizer effect to keep the fisheye vignette stable?

I'm working on a project where I want to have text appear on-screen in the same way as it does in the end credits of the Portal games. The "Blinking Cursor Typewriter Console" effect seems to do exactly what I want, but its performance is terrible.

In a composition with only one text layer and one audio layer, the text layer consistently takes upwards of 100 ms per frame to generate a preview (and sometimes more than a full second), and changing any keyframe causes the entire sequence to re-render (instead of only the frames affected by the change), making adjusting the timing so that the text matches the audio extremely tedious.

Other Animation Presets > Text > Animate In effects that I've tried perform fine; it's just this one effect that has an issue. Does anyone have any ideas for how to either make the built-in effect perform better or achieve the same result with a different method that performs better?

(I deleted my first post about this cause I thought I had solved it AND I could not change the video... then I realized the problem is still there. Apologies, ADHD is playing a number on me today)
I added a trim path to a line. Animated. Works great
Added a second trim path to animate a different part of the line at a different moment of the timeline. THis messed up the first trim path.
I there a way to preven the second trim path affecting the first one.?

I'm working on a new style like vox animations, so i need a talking mouth for facial part. How to easily remove unwanted face except lips from smth similar like the image i attached. I need to cut out around 10 -15 images only for mouth and also want to cut eyes but not bulk, jus 3-4 versions. In conclusion, how can i do it in a quick/reliable method. Like is there any way i can achieve this in batch format instead of cutting for each and every one. (Like using previous mask and adjusting slight changes)

Hey! Does anyone have any experience here with using OneDrive and having massive issues with After Effects? It crashes, doesn’t sync and is serious hard work.

Are there any alternatives for work? I need to share my files with other designers and animators and working off OneDrive is causing many issues. Would a server be better? Or another Cloud solution? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

When i preview after making some changes in the comp the audio skips a frame for some reason and in the next preview it doesnt how do i fix this
