Hello!! I'm new to After effects, I've one doubt, I'm currently I'm using After Effects 2017, So If I want to use Media Encoder, does it need to be the same version as after effects? Like it should be Media Encoder 2017, or the newer Media Encoder supports old after effects too?
Hi all, 2,5 years ago I built my first pc, mainly for gaming purposes. Currently, I have been doing video editing for over a year and I want to finally upgrade my PC. With my current specs, I have to preview at the lowest possible settings and even then my timeline get stuck regularly. I use Premiere Pro, but using dynamic links with After Effects to do motion graphics etc.
My budget is around €1000 (I live in Europe). I would therefore prefer re-using parts of my current PC such as the RAM (to eventually buy an extra pair of 2x32 DDR4) and power supply.
Here are my current specs:
- CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 with included cooler
- GPU Nvidia RTX 2060 8gb
- RAM: Corsair DDR4 Vengeance LPX 2x32GB 3600 (bought 1 year ago)
- SSD: Samsung 860 EVO 1TB SSD
- Power supply: Corsair RM750 PSU
- Case: NZXT H510
- Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX B450-F
(All specs are 2,5 years old, except the RAM)
I am planning on using more effects in AE so that's the reason for my upgrade. I was looking at the i9-14900k but I don't know if the bottleneck will be too much..
Let me know!
Hi all!
I made a simple text animation in After Effects that involves blur and tracking animations. When I drop it into Premiere over footage, it looks like this: https://imgur.com/a/Es2xQcH
It looks correct in the source monitor of Premiere and in After Effects and the frame rates all match. Any idea what might be going on? My animation is rendered at Prores 4444 with Alpha. Thanks!
I'm running into an issue where one of the layers (a country with a colored overlay at about 50% opacity) starts flickering at some point in the animation when the camera zooms in. What could possibly be causing that?
Before you ask, I did finalize the mapcomps and the flicker is still present.
Hiring Video Editor for YouTube Content
I’m looking for a skilled video editor to help enhance my YouTube content. My channel focuses on the entertainment niche, and I need someone who can edit engaging, high-quality videos with their own specific editing styles or techniques.
Ideally, I’m looking for an editor who is experienced with YouTube content and understands how to keep viewers engaged. If you have a portfolio, I’d love to see some of your work. Please let me know your availability, rates, and any relevant experience.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
I'm editing in Premiere and I needed to roto something out, so I simply cut the segment and went replace with after effects comp, great easy!
Got into AE and and I couldn't immediately roto the section I had cut out already but rather roto only worked when editing the FULL length clip, which I had to trim down and adjust to the area...which I already did in premiere. What gives? It never was like this for me.
I recently just bought a shake pack off payhip, and when I try to use them in a project, they don't look like what was advertised. I know it's not the shakes because my mutual used them and they look fine. I'm just looking for a fix.
What sort of PC specs do I need to run this thing without severe lag?! I’ve got a 3090ti, 13900K, and 128gb of ram, + over 4TB of free unused SSD storage. It’s STILL insufferable! Lag starts after doing simple tasks such as keyframing text with motion blur enabled
More of a rant than anything but if anyone knows of any settings that massively improve workflow, that’d be amazing!
EDIT:
I do some pretty simplistic AE stuff for work. I used to never run into any issues, but after either my most recent Windows update, Adobe update, graphics card update, or combination thereof, I keep getting error messages like this:
Unable to allocate 1.981 MB of memory
Maybe I'm wrong, but 1.981MB doesn't seem like much? Why would this be an issue?
I noticed my AE settings all defaulted. I moved my disk cache/media cache to be on my D drive instead of C, which it used to be. I thought that would fix things, but I still get memory alerts. I empty the disk cache before rendering. Maximum Disk Cache Size is 95GB, I have 32 RAM and 3GB reserved for other applications. 'Enable Multi-Frame Rendering' is not currently selected. D drive has nearly 3TB free, C drive has 474GB free.
Projects I was working on only a few days ago with no problem are now giving me errors like this. I'm just baffled as to why. So far, I've been able to simplify things enough to get it to finally render, but this feels untenable. Is there something else I should try? Should I revert back to an earlier version of AE?
Thanks for any guidance.
I also ticked the cuda thing in the project settings, still no chnage. It's after effects 2023 version.
So basically, when I film a video and do the editing in ae (speed ramps effects etc) it makes the video highlights seem high and corrects it itself even tho the actual clip doesn’t look like that. I don’t add any lumetri colour effect either. Then when I export to premiere through a dynamic link it looks really bad even tho I haven’t colour graded it yet.
When I import that same clip to premiere with no ae editing it’s completely fine. Is there any fix to this?
Lots of luma key, some key framed masks for the movement of the door and turbulent noise/colorama for the backgrounds.
