Hi everyone
I recently started visualizing my BIM's myself and made another project. Actually I'm quite happy with it, but there are some things bothering me. I use Blender and render in cycles.
One thing is, how I could make it look more realistic. To me, it looks really render-y (is this a word?), like "plastic". Another thing I struggle with are textures. I mainly used free pbr textures, but I'm wondering if I shouldn't cheap out and buy the texture I use most often. I also struggle with floorings. After rendering the individual planks aren't that visible as they should be.
I already noticed, the texture of the gravel, wood of the Trellis/Porch isn't that good. Also, don't mind the bird bath it's only a placeholder for now. Last image also got a weird tone :)
What bothers me too, is that making those final touches, like adding dirty and other small stuff, that actually would help to make it look more realistic, takes sooo much time. Like the whole scene took me 4 hours, but then making the cords for the curtains another two. Lots of those small details take so much time. Does someone have a strategy to cut this time down or how to make it more realistic in another way?
I noticed all of the renderings I got in the past from often come back with a certain degree of noise and have pretty low image quality. I'm not sure if they do this because of time restrictions or if it is on purpose. But this actually hides lots of small mistakes and the eye sort of fill in the gaps and everything looks more realistic. I tried to replicate, but failed. I don't think it's the noise from having low samples.
Is there any way of using DR to render different frames of a project? I tried setting up Deadline... it was a nightmare. I have 3 machines connected to DR. I want to render out some short animations... but it will only render 1 frame at a time. It takes around 5 minutes for the other machines to kick in and by that the time, the frame is already complete. So they never kick in and help render times. Any way around this? TIA
3ds Max + Corona, objects from 3dwarehouse and Chaos, no AI no postprocessing
Used Vray 7 and 3ds max to experiment with indirect lighting. Used vray 6 and some ies lights.
Hi, does anyone have any good videos or instructions om how one can upload their models up to 3d model sale websites. How do you prepare it? Do you bake textures? Unwrap every texture or is there a plugin that unwraps all textures for you to export automatically? Thank you
Hey guys, this is my second render with vray, would like some feedback on how to make it more realistic, Thank youu
As the title says, i have to make a render of an aquatic playground. Would be pretty cool to see some water fog/steam in that specific area, but not the whole render. Any suggestions on how to make it in Vray ?
As the title says. I'm nearing my thesis semester so I'd love some suggestions, I;m looking for a laptop that can handle architectural stuff. I need the portability since I live like 2 hours away from uni. My current setup (desktop) is below, and it handles the things I need to do fairly well so that would be the baseline, but an i7 or an R7 would be preferred. my budget is at 1000-1200 USD right now. Thanks!

UPDATE: My workflow consists of AutoCAD > Sketchup > D5/Enscape. I barely do any post processing to my renders due to time constraints but if I could, I mainly use Photoshop. Plates are often done in groups so the video editing for walkthroughs are done by someone else. I also plan to relearn Revit as an eventual replacement to AutoCAD as my main drafting software.
Good morning ! I'm trying to improve my skills on Lumion and with this in mind I notice a problem: the exterior vegetation is not reflected in the mirror... Any ideas?
I'm looking for a good virtual tour solution where I can use my 360° Renders that I will make myself with Corona Render.
They will need to be integrated on the clients real estate homepage.
I already did some in the past with online solutions that worked well but I thought I'll ask here what's the best one.
It would be nice if the solution have a measurement tool (where you can measure distances on the floor) as the clients was asking for that.
Thanks!
My render made with vray and sketchup.. only.. no editing software was used as am not good in photoshop.
I need your say on what i should change.. the modal was downloaded from cgtips..
