I’m planning to go to see Black Coffee at Navy pier on May 10th but there is surprisingly very little info on the site/tickets for this event.

Does anyone know what they mean by “navy pier open air”? Like is it going to be fully outside around Navy Pier because I’ve definitely never seen that done there

And also it says 4 PM start which is confusing because we don’t know who the openers are or when Black Coffee is slated to come on.

Idk if i’m looking in the wrong places but could definitely use more info about that event

Not sure if this group can help but I’m a Chicago keys player looking for someone who loves to makes live techno/breakbeat on a sampler/drum machine.

Something like a digitakt, polyend play, tr-8s etc. and is adept in creating the beat live for a performance.

I have an extensive jazz background and want to create a live breakbeat group with a bassist and drum machine master. End goal would be busking and then gigs.

Anyone know anyone like this?

Half the people there have ZERO rave etiquette. Like I get it's a younger crowd but c'mon. I got shoved around the entire night, it was so annoying. Guy next to me was legit about to throw hands with someone who was trying to shove their way in front. Like I'm in the left corner all the way on the side of the bar, minding my own business, trying to take up as little space as possible, but nope..... Literally would have people walk right into me. Like how do you walk straight into a corner lmao.

TBH, it's not even the shoving, it's a sold out show I get it...but it's the lack of manners that was so irritating.

Like 6ft5 dudes literally tryna push their way into the front. Or like a train of people trying to ram their way towards the rail only to come back out in 5 minutes because, shocker it's way too packed. Or a girl holding 3 drinks pushing me out of her way with her elbows, completely giving zero fucks.

All you have to say is Excuse Me and people will more than happily move out of your way. Like I'm tryna make it EASIER for you to move around me so you DONT have to shove. Ugh.

Besides that, venue, DJs, VJs, sound quality were absolute gas.

I cannot find bars that play good music for the lifeeee of me. i’m not a club person, I hate the $20 cover, the buying tickets in advance thing that everybody seems to do on weekends, AND the ridiculously priced drinks. I’m just looking for a place to dance with my partner and have a good time !!!!

let me know if you have any recs, also totally down for something more underground. as long as there’s good dance music and ppl r not packed to the walls!

I went to buy boiler room tickets and at presale they’re $79 with fees… that’s absolutely insane compared to the $48 with fees price last year. Especially since they haven’t announced a venue or artist

July 2014 and just fresh out of college when my wife (then girlfriend) and I attended our last festival. Almost a decade and 3 kids later, we are returning to our roots. Wouldn’t have even known that Beyond Wonderland was being held in Chicago if my coworker didn’t tell me about it. But dammit if I wasn’t on the checkout page 23.5 seconds later. Not sure why it took us this long or why now, but just damn excited. Can’t wait to see you all there.
