Odds that Martin plays at lolla this year? What yall think?

Coachella dropped their lineup 2 months early this year and we are starting to get Roo Clues which are pretty sizeable indications of artist availability so here is the 2025 edition of our speculation thread!

Feel free to comment here if you see artists we can rule out or confirm or if you have any inside info.

Anyone claiming to have inside info will be contacted by a moderator to verify the claim and if we think that it's legit, we will add it to this post. Take everything with a grain of salt, even if we verify it's legitimacy, we can get it wrong.

Confirmed: This is our highest level reserved strictly for artists confirming themselves or a verifiable music publication confirming them (Example: Journey in 2021 confirmed by RS, Variety confirming Ariana Grande in 2019)

Rumored: This is for when we are being told by Reddit users, Discord users, or Twitter users that an artist will be playing the festival. We will try to provide proof when we can and will always take a user's history into account when we add the artist they are telling us into this post.

Likely: An artist or band is on tour, skips Chicago, and is in the United States around Lolla weekend. Bonus points if they are in the Midwest.

Possible: The band or artist is actively touring (and playing Festivals) and did not play Lollapalooza last year

Unlikely: The band or artist announced a Chicago stop but cannot be fully ruled out because the radius clause is pretty lenient these days

Out: The artist or band is booked all of Lolla weekend or is playing Riot Fest, North Coast, or any other Chicago summer festival

Do we think 2025 will be August 31 - July 3rd

Do you think there is any chance wallows will come back this year. They have not played since 2022 and do not have a Chicago date this year. Also they have a HUGE crowd at T-Mobile last time they played. What do you think?

I'm hoping that some of the lesser known artists who'd normally play Pitchfork will play Lollapalooza instead. It'd be nice if something good could come from the parasites at Conde Nast snatching that local treasure away from us.

Does anyone know the lollapalooza ticket prices on average? I was expecting the $400-$500 range but people are saying $700 and also they’re not even mentioning getting them on the website

Congrats to our 2024 lineup pool winner u/gardenoncatalpa, who correctly guessed 5/8 headliners last year AND won the lineup pool in BACK TO BACK years. We may have found our lineup wizard!

Rules are pretty much the same as last year and are listed below.

RULES

-Compile a list of 16 acts that you believe will be at Lollapalooza next year, 8 headliners, 4 subs and 4 undercard acts (No Kidspalooza acts).

-Each headliner will be worth 5 points, the sub headliners will be worth 3 points and the other undercard acts will be worth 1 point each. If a band that you predicted to be undercard ends up being a headliner, you will receive only 1 point for that band. If a band that you predicted to headline that appears on the lineup as a non-headliner, it is worth 1 point.

-The winner will be decided based on the initial lineup. Late lineup additions do not count.

SUBMITTING

-Submit your lineup via the Airtable Forms Link at the bottom of this post. Be sure to indicate your username.

-The deadline is December 31st at 9PM EST. You may begin submitting whenever you like.

-You can resubmit your lineup as many times as you wish, I will take the most recent submission.

Artist Specifications

When artists appear in multiple acts, in general you must specify the exact act for points. For example, if you guess Big Boi and we get Big Grams, you don't get any points. Exceptions are noted below. Please ask for clarifications in this thread.

Other examples:

-Kanye, Cudi, and Kids See Ghosts are separate acts

-Odd Future, Tyler the Creator, Frank Ocean are separate acts.

-A$AP Mob and A$AP Rocky are separate acts.

-Skrillex, Major Lazer, and JackU are all separate acts.

-Chance the Rapper and Donnie Trumpet are separate acts.

-Jack White and The Raconteurs are separate acts.

Exceptions:

DJs billed together and not performing under a unique name will still get points. For example, if you guess DJ Nobu and they book "Ben Klock & DJ Nobu" you will get 1 point. "Live" and "DJ Set" designations do no matter, unless those acts perform under unique name. If you guess Bonobo, you will get credit for Bonobo (DJ Set). If you guess Caribou, you will get no credit for Daphni.

Maybe this survey can really show who has their “Sources” early on in the year. All of this is in good fun and hope you guys are interested in this. I’ll edit this post as more submissions come in so we can see the total amount of people who have entered.

so i’ve heard a couple rumors/predictions from people about some artists they think will be at lolla chicago in 2025 (rufus du sol, everything always, olivia, etc.) just curious about any other predictions people may have?

What do y’all think the chance of lady gaga headlining for lollapalooza since she’s performing at Coachella or do you think it’s more likely for Olivia Rodrigo since she’s playing at the other lollapaloozas?

The newest album was indeed a flop, but if they played- they couldn’t be in the same spot they were last time right? I still think by default, they’d have to at least be bud light headliner. It just feels like they’ll have a Livenation fest run and play Roo, Gov Ball, and Lolla. Thoughts?

Planning out my festivals this year. I went to Bonnaroo this past summer and fell in love. Their tickets are currently on sale. However, I didn’t buy them yet in the chance I wanted to go to a new festival this year, which would be Lollapalooza. Has anyone been to both and can compare the two? Or if you haven’t been to Bonnaroo, why do you like Lollapalooza? TIA!!

Is there a reason we aren’t talking about her? She went on a US Tour this year and the rest of the world tour ends long before Lolla!

With Trump winning the election, I don’t think there a band more deserving of being the legacy act. Everyone’s favorite progressive metal band!

i feel like people are setting themselves up for disappointment especially since she had a run in 2022. how often do artists usually come back that soon? whats the usual amount of years between when someone comes back? anyway charli amazing in 2022 and it would be super cool to see her back!!

I haven’t seen much talk about them, but Chicago is pretty much the last major city they haven’t played, and they’ve played at all major festivals for the most part.

I could definitely see them at Northcoast or Arc, but I don’t know if either of those festivals have the budget for them considering they closed outdoor at Coachella and are closing MainStage at Ultra.

He just put out a new album and he’s doing a spring tour that skips Chicago. How likely is he for Lollapalooza 2025?

John Summit seems most likely to me, but any of the four could quite easily be contenders.

I am considering getting VIP tickets for Lollapalooza Paris on July 18, 2025 (Friday) to watch Olivia Rodrigo perform. I just had a few questions:

1. How can I get to the barricade?

2. I might be buying the VIP 1: Lolla VIP. The package includes a VIP area reserved all day long. Is that area near the stage?

3. Also included in the VIP 1: Lolla VIP ticket is a Privative VIP terrasse with a view on the Main stages. Is this another area that VIP ticket holders can access, aside from the VIP area reserved all day long?

4. Based on your experience with Lolla, how long do you think Olivia Rodrigo will perform?
