Will this be efficient enough for purging the rest of butane from BHO?

Ive been using a cheap ir thermostat gun but it doesn't work that well im looking for something that can take multiple temps not just the dish something economical and accurate

I've started making Moroccan-style hash from my summer grow and looking to fine tune my process. Right now after sifting I put the kief in either a pre-press mold or hand press, around 180-200F for ~ 30 minutes, tightening the press/mold by hand twice- but that's pretty random based on Frenchy's documented process, what I remember from meeting him and attending a couple of lectures, and what I know about decarbing.

I like the end product but at the higher temp range I'm getting some terp/oil loss (squish) and at the lower I'm not quite getting the consistency I'm looking for.

Wondering if there are experts out there with time/temperature/pressure suggestions and how those might be affected if I start running slightly larger batches- I'm a hobby grower so we're talking like currently 5-10g per attempt and maybe doubling or tripling that.. not kilos.

Tried asking in /r/hash but get the sense it's more of a connoisseur forum than a production one. Would really appreciate any insight or direction!

To make a badder can you start whipping after blasting or do you have to purge completely then heat it back up and whip it? Thanks

How to I get my extracts to be creamy or waxy? All of my extracts end up very sticky and hard.

I'm doing the QWET ethanol extraction with am extra step of fine .22 micron filter. After evaporation I'm left with my amber extract that is very hard and sticky. I've tried heating and whipping to see if that helps but it only seems to get harder. Apparently I'm a pro at making shatter but I'm looking for something more like sauce consistency.

Can this be done with the QWET method?

I was going to fill an empty cart and put it on my pen to hold it easier and I accidentally preheated it for 10s and it steamed up the inside and smelled burnt, is it fucked?

Anyone use home freeze dryer with pharmaceutical settings on it? I called and talked to harvest right and they claim the home freeze dryer is the exact same if you download the pharmaceutical settings onto it.

I want to make sure people are getting in the same quality out of the home with the new settings on it.

I’ve run every type of dabber over the last decade plus. I’ve made my own, bought multiple types, etc.

MY dabber of choice for the last 5 years or so? Wood toothpick. I have always used them and had them on me. Nothing sticks to it for the most part. Easy to load a nice fat dab of rosin, the only consistency I’ve had issue with is crumble. Either way, by far my top choice. Thank you for reading this important information.

Does anyone know if/how I can decarb directly in an oil? Trying to keep the smell down from the oven decarb process? Any advice would be appreciated thank you all.

Can anyone tell me if/how I can decarb my trim in butter or oil without the oven decarb process? My girlfriend doesn’t like it to stink up the house, which it does when done in the oven. Was wondering if there was a way to do it directly in the butter/ oil, I feel like this would reduce the odor. Thanks so much

I ran 3 ounces through both a 110 and 200 screen multiple times, but only got 4 grams. It's not the bud as my dealer makes his own hash rosin and sells it, I'm trying to figure out what I did wrong

Just got a gram of RSO from the dispensary and want to make edibles. Could I have it straight out of the bottle and get stoned or do I need to heat it somehow first? The directions say vape at low temperature.

I will be making my first batch of RSO tmr when my glass syringes arrive. My question is will I have to add anything to my RSO in order to pull it into a syringe? Or will warming it up do just fine

I make balms, which its oil based. I extract cannabis in oil. If I make a rso and then dissolve in oil, would that be the same thing? In terms of levels of cannabinoids on the final product?

The dispensary swore this is the most potent tincture: Decarb in jar at 235, the put in freezer, also everclear in separate jar in freezer. Next morning combine and shake every 10 minutes,10 time, drain. I used the decarb and combine, and store in fridge for 30 days.

Does it really make it the most potent?

In my eternal quest to upcyle the trim I run into I've come up with an idea that is either absolutely awful or might actually help with some things.

It's basically as follows:

-Layer frozen trim and dry ice in a sufficiently sturdy tank

-Pour refrigerated 95% ethanol over it

-Bubbles agitate the ethanol to encourage dissolution

-After 15 minutes drain tincture through valve in the bottom

(Try not to asphyxiate or get hit by high velocity alcohol ideally)

Does this work? Am I too high?

I recently read a comment on a different site from someone who claimed they wash their bud in a cheesecloth until the water comes out clear. Then they dry the flower again and start extracting the RSO/FECO as usual. Apparently this gives a less harsher final product.

Has anyone tried this and if so is it worth it?

EDIT: The wash is not a bud wash to clean the plant, but a few hour long soak in water to pull chlorophyll, sugars, phenols and other stuff out of the shredded flower before decarbing and letting it soak in ethanol.

I think I remember seeing a post a couple weeks ago with someone camping set up somewhere but I can't seem to find that post any more. I think the coil was vertical to sit right under the banger.

I found an old rso, and thought I'd give it a try again, but when I turned it over a bubble flowed through like water...

I opened and squirted a tiny bit and it was the consistency of water though it was previously thick. I tasted it and it was nasty. As a friend put it, "instead of tasting like the usual under side of a lawn mower, it tastes like the carburetor."

It's been in a closet, so dark and at room temperature for years. It's moved a couple times so has had a couple days in trucks across the country back and forth. But that's it.

Is this now toast? I'd assume so, but my searching on Google and here didn't address rso turning runny, only runny at production time.

Anyone have knowledge of old rso turning runny/liquid?
