Need help deciding what e rig to purchase

So budget is not really an issue I just want to get the best product and experience that I can for the price I’ve been looking into the new puffco pro as I’ve always heard the name and really like the look but I’m worried about longevity because I don’t want it to give out on me in a few months like some reviews I’ve heard I have also seen the dr dabber mentioned but I am leaning towards the puffco since it just came out

Pulsar Barb Fire

Hey friends! I’ve tried searching for an answer but need some clarification. I currently have a dirty Pulsar Barb Fire Atomizer that I need to clean. The coil placement doesn’t allow me to get a Q-Tip to the bottom of the quartz cup. Is there any tricks to cleaning this? Do I soak the entire atomizer in a small bowl of Isopropyl Alcohol?

Yocan Buyer Beware!!!

Hey all,

I am a big collector of e-rigs and pens. When I want to buy something new or get a new device I will often check out these and similar Reddit subs to learn about the product. You usually have three types of people. The ones that are there to troubleshoot or have a problem, those thinking of purchasing and wanting to learn more and then those who got one recent enough to enjoy that devices content.

I have several Yocan products. Recently I purchased a Yocan Rex from LighterUSA. I wanted to try out the e-nail after seeing a YouTube video. When mine arrived, I immediately put it to use and fell in love with the function of it. After several cycles through the device it started to give me a series of flashes (3 white) and it showed in manual and online to be atomizer problem. Device came with two so I tried the second unused for troubleshooting, cleaned, etc. Long story shorter, it was a bad device so I sent email to LighterUSA and Yocan. LighterUSA apologized but only returns new unused devices and said all sales final. Then the communication with Yocan begins.

In my initial email I sent all the information you would need. My personal and contact info, the purchase date, the company of purchase, I included the receipt, I explained what I did and how it reacts as well as what LighterUSA said. I then spent a straight week of waking up to a email asking for a piece of information that was previously included. Then I was asked for video. I was told it was a short circuit and that I would need to contact the retailer as they do not hand warranty items directly. After reexplaining they had me fill out a form for warranty and then said they would contact LighterUSA to explain their warranty process. Days go buy and I contact them back for an update. The update was they are offering me a 30% off coupon to their site. I

went to the site and the device with shipping and coupon used would cost me more than I paid for original device to the house!!! Because its 30% off MSRP! So that's the 90 day Yocan warranty, spend weeks jumping hoops and get a coupon code in exchange for a device that died on day 1. I see sites online that sell the battery to the REX which is the guts that are broke for $18 and they are making a profit on that. So Yocan has chosen to not honor the warranty on a item that cost them peanuts. What if this happened to the Yocan Black series devices I was eyeing up? $150 device DOA and you get a coupon code for money off next? Well that stupid decision to refuse me a warranty replacement on a $18 item will cost them far far more with me and that's before I save and share this where prudent or when their brand comes up in discussion.

People deserve to know!! Stuff happens to devices and sometimes you need support. I have a large collection and over the last few years I have had to reach out to Loohak, Ispire and Puffco. Lookah and Ispire took care of me and rolled out the red carpet. Yocan is flat our refusing to honor warranty with no reason given other than they are a big company and don't want bothered. That's not ok and I will make it known. So if getting a bunk device is a concern for you when you make a purchase., know that Yocan comes with no support and no warranty and that's a first hand account from someone with all the receipts, video and email trail to share.

BEWARE -- O2Vape Flip physicals failure. O2 blamed me and blocked me on twitter.

I bought a Flip, June 22. In September, the entire 510 socket physically broke (the metal cracked internally). I attempted to get a warranty replacement and though they did offer me an RMA, they wanted me to pay for shipping AND $15. Combined, that is about half of the cost of the device.

They started by telling me the "contact plate" breaks regularly and functionally blamed me because I didn't clean it. The contact plate was fine! I asked to be spared the shipping cost due to the physical defect and they AGAIN blamed me for leaky tanks and not cleaning it.

At this point I was frustrated and provided pictures of the failure. The response was:

" To be clear and avoid any confusion, I understand what you are saying.

You are saying the base broke off the battery, when you opened the arm.  I didn’t request a picture or need it because you have had the battery for months without an issue.  Wiring defects are pretty quick to show themselves and do not happen months after use.  It’s also more likely that you would have experienced error codes prompting a conversation.  We see this happen to batteries for many reasons, leaky tank is the most notable and so is dropping your device. While many other factors go into why a battery breaks, we cover all of the reasons under the Lifetime Warranty which you are free to use at any time. "

This was never a wiring defect, I provided pictures which they clearly didn't look at to see the physical failure of the metal (the wire broke after the fact). The device was never dropped, open or closed, I actively cleaned the socket (it wasn't the contact plate anyway) and when I posted to Twitter about it, They blocked me....

If you want the email / picture (I sent more but it was just different angles) please check out my twitter post.

https://twitter.com/Razlos/status/1638035996171452418

So TLDR: They know their devices break, they don't care and won't help you unless you pay another ~50% of the cost of the device.

Want to switch to concentrates, vaporizer or E-Nectar collector?

As the title states, I want to switch from hitting dry herb to mostly concentrates, I’ve been smoking dry herb for several years but all my friends smoke concentrates and have convinced me to switch. Ive never had a device that can hit concentrate before and I want to get something, nice, reliable, easy to use, and somewhat portable for my first time. I’ve been looking at three devices: The Puffco Proxy, the storz and Bickel mighty, and the Huni Badger. I’m not sure what the advantages are of having an E nectar collector like the huni badger is, or if I should stick with a vaporizer. Any advice would be appreciated! Smoke on!

Pen that holds 0.5-1g of concentrate to use throughout the day

Sorry if this has already been answered, but I didn’t find any results in search.

I’m looking for a pen I can fill with a decent amount of concentrate to use throughout the day. I don’t want to have to clean it out immediately after a couple puffs and have to refill right away, but rather have an experience more like a disposable.

I tried the Yocan evolve, but it doesn’t hold much and I’d prefer something that doesn’t need to be kept upright to avoid spilling/leaking.

Thanks in advance!

Why don't I ever hear about over decarbing with Load and Go?

I see posts about loading 0.5g into something with a bucket like a TAF Saionara and puffing on it for days, doesn't this heat all of your concentrate over and over until it goes past decarb and creates sedating CBN? I've personally made sleepy edibles by decarbing about 4x as long.

Is it different for something like an NRG tank with CCell coil? Like maybe only the concentrate that has wicked into the coil gets heated there?

Why does wax need to be decarbed for load and go?

I read some post about using a vaporesso nrg tank with ccell coil as a load and go but that you have to decarb wax first, why is that? A full decarb or like a partial one? I know if you over decarb you get a lot of heavy CBN.

What else do I need to do? I read something about removing the lipids but it's just confusing. I don't have access to distillate.

This tank btw: https://www.vaporesso.com/vape-tanks/nrg

DNA 250c problems

My DNA 250c mod (Dovpo RIVA) has stopped working properly all of the sudden.

I have been running it in titanium mode @ 32W, 430 degrees F. Running an HVT Sequoia with black ceramic/triple titanium. I have never messed with any of the TCR settings.

The problem I’m having is it’s not reading resistances correctly (tried another mod and it worked just fine). It will jump all the way to 60-80 watts, and the actual temperature will disappear from the screen.

Would this be a matter of simply restarting the mod, or factory resetting it using EScribe? I have access to a computer.

This is frustrating as it was working fine and then literally out of nowhere it stops reading resistances and will shoot my watts way up when it’s only supposed to stay at 32 watts.

Any help would be appreciated as it wasn’t a cheap mod and now it’s essentially reduced to a paperweight.

Terrible Experience With TheHerbCafe

This is a review outlining my experience ordering from TheHerbCafe and the awful customer service I received trying to alleviate the issues I had.

I purchased the Herb Cafe’s Divine Tribe v5 Atomizer Starter Package. The package included what was supposed to be an eleaf 75w Pico USBC with AutoFire. I had done research on this model, and apparently there was a model before it that did not have AutoFire firmware but the new models did. The description of the product made it clear that new orders would receive the new model with AutoFire pre-installed. When I received my order, the first thing I did was try out autofire. There were no instructions included in the package. I contacted the herb cafe as to how to use the autofire. Their instructions did not work, and when I tried to ask them further questions to see if I was missing something or there was a setting I needed to turn on somehow they stopped responding to me all together. After a month I tried talking to them again about the problem, they finally started responding to me again but the service I received was awful. First I was told the feature was not needed, then their solutions for me were quite awful. I was told I could send it back and they would exchange it for a different one, or that I could just buy another one from them. Shipping back to The Herb Cafe would’ve cost me ½ the price of a new one, and I had no way of knowing if they would ship me another one or just claim the pico battery mod was working and send me back the same pico and make me pay for shipping. I asked if there was anything else they could do for me, and I offered to record myself trying to use the AutoFire and send them the footage to show it wasn’t working. They said no and the only 2 options were again to return and exchange, or buy a new one. I declined both.

I am very shocked, I did my research before selecting a vendor and heard lots of good things about this place. However I am 100% sure they either sent me the older model or sent me a defective unit. Mistakes happen, and I’m understanding of that. What I’m not understanding of is the terrible customer service I received when trying to alleviate the issue. First, I was first told my issue didn’t matter because the feature is not needed, which does not matter: they advertised a specific feature and they sold me either the wrong model or a faulty product. Second, Their proposed solution was offering me to pay for their mistake. I will not be ordering from them again.

Before I posted this review I contacted them again, they claimed they do not even have the older models without autofire on hand when their product page clearly has both the older model and the newer model with AutoFire. I have never had to deal with such an unprofessional company and will never try dealing with them again.

Linx Blaze cups - burnt residue and leaking

Hello, anybody using blaze cups? I got burnt residue in most of them which I have to scrape off, iso just isn't enough. And I have same residue in ace atomizer, of course in ace I don't do the scraping.

Any thoughts or advices? Am I doing something wrong or this behavior is to be expected?

Does anybody had "dirty" zero atomizer after using cups, like the cup leaked? I don't know if I'm just unlucky, tried to scrape residue off too hard or is it just condensed wax that got down on the ceramic plate?

Thanks

Lynx Hypnos vs Blaze Ceramic Question

I have the Lynx Hypnos and I love the taste from the ceramic plate coil. My only complaint is the lack of vapor production. I am not expecting to chase clouds with it, but I would like more vapor production without losing the taste. For those who have tried both, does the blaze hit harder with the ceramic plate than the hypnos does? Fyi I use the Hypnos with the ceramic plate at max temp. I preheat it to melt the wax. I stop pressing for a second then hold the button and inhale taking ljsips until the auto shut off. While I am hitting it I gently rock it back and forth to keep the wax from pooling on the outside edge.
Thank you all in advance!

Dna 250c problems

I just recently have been having issues with my dna mod, I’m running it at 32w in titanium mode and it has just started to jump all the way to 80w out of nowhere and will then hover around 60, and it’s not reading resistances properly anymore.

I already made sure all of the connections are clean and have tried multiple other coils and my mod won’t read measure any of their resistances correctly anymore.

Does anyone know what could be the issue?

Narrowing down choices

Thanks to all the helpful people from my last post, I think I’ve narrowed down my choices for my first waxpen. Here is what I’ve gathered so far.

Lightning pen ~$60: Pros: good quality hits, easy to clean, small, easy to use Cons: small bowl

Orbit $~35: Pros: cheap, can see dabs, okay flavor(from what I hear), easy to use Cons: not as good flavor as other options

Dtv5 ~$100 (w/ box mod): Pros: Seems to have the best hits of them all, self cleaning, bigger chamber, rebuildable Cons: Harder to set up, most expensive on list, can’t find much info about setup online(what does Arctic fox do, how to set it up upon unboxing)

Tempted to go with the orbit due to mainly using my crafty (dabs are an every now and then treat) but I also want to make sure I have the most bang for my buck. Any input is appreciated!

Looking to get into wax pens for the first time.

Looking to try this hobby as I enjoy my crafty for dry herb and wanted to dip my toes into the wax world.

Ideally I’m looking for something under $100 probably in the pen form factor.

I’ve done some research and decided that the quartz/ceramic chamber would be better since I’d prefer nice flavor over large clouds.

Usb-c is a must. It would also be nice to be able to use it with a rig if possible as well as being somewhat portable.

Not sure it this is all feasible under $100 but please let me know what you suggest! I’ve been considering the orbit, cubex, lightning, and puffco peak.

Wax Pen that looks like elf bar

I just want something that is inconspicuous especially for when I’m out I’ve seen a couple brands like Randy’s inspo and the myster slickbox. But I haven’t heard good things about them does anyone know any good brands that have them? Or if those brands are good
