The game within the game, The Wild Side, was a prediction of what VR arcades could potentially look like. It used hologram to create a complete different reality.
Even though that's not how VR arcades are like today, the Wild Side still sounds fun, right? Well, there's just one problem. It was too realistic. The boss escaped and captured players by defeating them at the game. You'd think that after their defeat, the game would shut down so the next person could play, but nope. Players were trapped in that virtual world with no hope of escaping unless someone beats the final boss at the end.
Let's be real, if there was a VR arcades that glitches up that badly, there would be serious lawsuits against the Wild Side's developers. Forget someone trying to beat the final boss at the end, professional hackers would have to get involved to save these trapped players, and the game would have to be recalled globally.
But what do you think? If the Wild Side was a real VR game, would you give it a go even if the risk of getting trapped was there?
Just got a PSVR2 for my PC and all the games im recommended are at least 3 years old, most a lot older.
I would like to get some ideas on recent games that are really worth it. I have an RTX3090 and im usually sold on eye candy, but i would like to hear some recommendations on any front.
Hi Everyone,
I’ve just launched a new short video, please check it out, flying the Hawk T1 in VR:

I’d love it if you can give any feedback, I’ll be working on some gear review videos very soon.
Thanks and best wishes GEONSIMS
How do "AR" glasses compare to Quest/VR headsets for 3d Movies? Specifically is the 3d effect as good? How about resolution? Is half and full SBS supported on glasses?
What XR glasses do you recommend for watching 3d movies?
Looking for comfort, accessibility and fun factors that makes and enables an experience worth-while for long periods of staying time.
How do you interact in VR?
This is a very quick survey about interactions with VR. Thats it. It will take only two minutes of your time and greatly broadens my research into this amazing community.
Everything is anonymous.
It is mainly multiple choice.
Your help is greatly appreciated!
Thank you :)
Sooner or (most probably) later I will get a new desktop with a 5090. As for the headset, I am still using a Steam Index.
In VR I mostly play seated, usually either PC driving or flight simulators.
With the new desktop, I would like to have a headset that can leverage on the horsepower available.
For various reasons (ie reliability, local post sales assistance in Europe) I see the Quest 3 as the best option, however I am concerned about the complexity of setting it up to get the best experience. Most of this complexity seems specific to wireless VR gaming, which however I totally don't care.
As said, I am mostly playing PC simulations seated near my desktop, so no problems at all playing wired.
My question to you all is about the complexity of getting the best experience and performance out of a Quest 3 connect through a wire to the PC for PC VR gaming: is it hard ? Do I have to play with encoders and developer settings etc to get a good experience out of it, or all this hassle is just for wireless PC VR gaming ?
This works really well in UEVR, although the resolution settings don't seem to have been implemented in the best way and can be a bit fiddly
Hello,
I love the VR in Simracing. I play a lot to Racerom.
But... the FPS are too low and there is ghosting.
My config is :
32 Go RAM
I5 (12th gen)
6650 XT for GPU
Quest 2 for the headset
I use OpenComposite but even with the guide on RRE forum, the result is not god.
So I'm writng here if someone with the same GPU can help me having descent settings to realy appreciate this VR game.
Thank you all !
Hello There,
if somebody gets a 5090 or 5080 and own a pimax crystal og or light or any ligh res vr headset. Please check if this be possible to activate in any DX11+ game. And if it works in VR. This could be a game changer:
I’ve had it for about a month, and I’ve been considering selling it. For me, the games are either stupid expensive, or free but not that good. I got the meta quest 3, and $500 for something that I kinda hate using, is crazy. My dad got this for me as a gift, so I don’t know if it’s okay selling, but I wanna sell it so I can buy a Xbox series x.
I want to hear opinions on this topic because even though the teaching methods around the world are very old schooled many students wouldn't want to have special tech in class for learning .
I've been using the meta quest 2 for a while now and I love survival games where you get resources, fight, building stuff ect. So I just want to ask if there are any survival games in the Quest 2 that would be great?
Thanks in advance everyone!
Hope everyone’s having a great day! (What with the weekend just around the corner)
Our team over at Immersion Games has been cooking up something really unique the previous year, and we’re so happy to finally get to share it with you all. That’s because today is the official launch day of our newest VR fantasy-fitness project — Fitness Fables!
It’s our take on a fitness game, but we wanted to make it so much more interesting than the run-of-the-mill experience by incorporating fantasy elements and theme-appropriate exercise activities — 25 of them, to be exact! — that all correspond to those in real life!
And if any of this piques your curiosity at least a tiny bit, we’d love to tell you some more about it.
We’d describe Fitness Fables in terms of the following features:
Lastly, we want to thank everyone who’s supported us so far, including all the positive words we’ve heard from the VR fitness community. We truly hoped we’ve delivered an authentic experience that’s both worth trying, and staying for! And as always, if you end up playing it — don’t hesitate to share your experience! Every bit of feedback goes a long way in helping us improve the game as much as possible, and besides that, we want to hear your opinion!
Thank you all and wishing everyone a great a week,
Immersion Games Team <3
PS: If you want to learn more about the specific exercises and activities in the game, you can look them up on our official game site
I have never used a vr headset before (except the plastic box thingies where you attach your phone into, but that dont count) and i will be getting a powerfull pc probably this summer or atleast this year, a big upgrade from my laptop.
And i really want to get into vr, mostly for gaming, and maybe sometimes watching movies and such. I have already made a ton of research, ik about the fan and ipd problem, but i dont think i will mind the fan and my ipd is pretty normal i think so it probably wont be a problem. I dont want a standalone headset because connecting those to a pc seem very finicky and i dont want video compression. Other than that i like the idea of standalone but it aint for my use cases.
I havent seen any better pcvr only headsets with great specs like this, i know the price isnt as good as buying a quest 3 or even a pico, but i told why i didnt want those.
And my budget is around 600 dollars, but it will be changing for because im not american or anything, so taxing and avaibilty might change for other headsets, i still want to know alternatives though. And please be fair to the headset i want to know pros and cons.
I really miss PC VR and my Rift S is just completely bricked, even tried to rollback and still stuck in FW update loop.
The quest 3 is appealing because of the lenses but I'm really not looking forward to being tied to a FB/meta account and having to stream over wifi.
What is the consensus in the rumor mill about the Deckard being announced?
I've had my index for years and it's struggling to stay alive right now. I got new knuckles like a year ago and I really like them and still want to use them. am I better off getting another index? or wait for a new headset to be released? or is there a better headset? i was hoping for something with facial tracking that easily let's me use my lnuckles/vive trakers with it? I'm guessing it would have to be compatible with the same basestations/lighthouses. i dont care as much about specs but i dont want the visual differencd to be too extreme. any info is greatly appreciated!! thanks :)
If you had a $2500 budget to buy a graphics card, which one would you buy? Rtx 5090 seems like the obvious answer but some people feel strongly favorably towards AMD or rtx 4090 cards. Do you know something that us masses do not?
Update: thanks for the responses. I think nvidia seems to be the clear winner for gpu’s.
I'm about to get a big payday on my last contract as a digital marketer, and I'm going to get into VR. I'm willing to spend around $1k if I really need to, but I'd prefer something half that. I don't want anything associated with Meta. I'm going to be using this headset only with my PC, so I doubt I need the headset to be standalone.
Desktop PC specs are high. 64GB DDR5 I think at 6000MhZ, NVME, Ryzen 7 7800X3D 8-Core Processor, about four other SSDs and four storage HDDs, for the moment using a 2080 Super with a 1070 for secondary processing, but I can upgrade.

I was looking at the Valve Index, but it seems to be quite old at this point? Then there was Pimax, which seems neat.
I do wear pretty thick glasses, my vision is terrible. Astigmatism to the degree I cannot be treated with Lasik nor can I wear contacts, and my lenses are usually too high in strength to be made by Zenni. I might need to just wear my glasses while using VR.
What should I look at? What should I buy?
I have a quest 3 and I prefer to use virtual desktop and then steam link instead of just the steam link app. It was working for like 10 days but when I opened it today it said that do to an “unexpected crash” it blocked my steam vr addons which blocked my virtual desktop from connecting to it. The main issue is when I unblock it and restart steam vr it says the same thing again I have tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it to but it’s the same?
