For months, many of the mod action notifications have been about reddit removed comments that included Gumroad links and link shorteners. Reddit automatically removes them on this subreddit, and gives no warning or notice to the user (the subreddit automod we control won't take action on removed content). I tend to approve messages (not posts) if they're in reply to requests about the avatar or asset, but realize this can create problems of its own (am I approving links to content that might have problems).

Also, there's another issue with regard to self-promotion and self-advertisement which were meant as means for users to share their own artwork that's hosted on their own platform, not as actual money making advertisements. Having the picture on reddit then linking to your gumroad page is still advertising.

Rule #13 Clarification:

• If sharing information to access someone else's page or assets, avoid using links to Gumroad or other asset sites, or using link shorteners to store pages like Amazon. Either send a private message (you can say you sent the pm in a public message) or give good search terms they can use.

• If the link is to your own assets for sale, send it only as private message to those that request it. You can mention in the public comments you sent the private message. The exception to this is if you want your post to be a monthly self-promoted post (you can publicly share links to that specific asset), or once of three month self-advertisement post (you can share links to your homepage or user site equivalent).

• The main goal is to let users share the artwork aspect of their assets without turning the subreddit into a thinly veiled advertising portal. That's why self-created content posts can be daily. Note I may still approved removed messages but now that this is an official clarification it's not a guarantee.

Everytime I try to load a world, the download gets stuck. I tried clearing the cache beforehand but that made it worse because now I can't even load into the default world without the download freezing.

I was looking at the vrc website and saw no friends online when there’s usually about a hundred online. I’m hoping it’s a glitch because I don’t remember the names of all my friends. Anyone having similar issues?

So I loaded into my home world today and I looked at my socials and it says I have 0 friends even though I do have friends, and the only way to join any of my friends is by having them send me invites

There was a player that I dont remember the name of and I was unable to friend them before server crash. I play on oculus but I've already taken a look at recently met so I doubt they were on oculus.

Hello everyone! I’ve noticed that water in VRChat is very different depending on the world, sometimes being a simple 2D texture with ripples, sometimes a full blown physics system with particles and everything, and a little in between. But I think my favourite part of water in general in VR is the it having an effect under the surface, but in most instances, the water is merely another texture, with nothing underneath. Does anyone know worlds that have a good water system that you can put your head under etc? I’d love to find out some worlds!

Ill be doing my thing and if theres a portal withing 50 ingame feet of me, it risks the possibility to automatically detect my avatar and force a teleport. Its unbelievably annoying. Im on the oculus quest 2, if anyone knows a fix it would be greatly appreciated

I tend to get pretty motion sick (also think it’s cause I’m newer to the platform), but just wondering if any one had suggestions for fun worlds with friends that are nice for the brain. I have been playing some pool or like if darts exist I’d think that be kinda cool idk if that’s been worked out. I have been in the flight jets and racing worlds, but I usually have to stay still while somebody else does the controlling.

PC and PCVR they aren't really an issue for but tend to try and "scare" by saying your IP or address.

As the title states im having issues with audio delay when talking to others online, I know what the cause of the issue is but I dont really know of any solid way to fix it.

My wifi is in a rought spot right now, where it will have a good ping for around 3/4 minutes but after that for like 5-10 seconds my ping will jump up to 2000. This is really annoying because afterwards my ping will be fine and normal again but there will now be a delay when Im talking to people.

Whenever ill speak the people around me will hear me with a 4-10 second delay which just makes the whole experience unenjoyable :(

The only way weve found around it so far is to leave and rejoin, but this can be very annoying when were trying to watch a movie or somethings because you often wont notice the delay right then and there. Is there any way to "resync" it without me having to leave the entire world?

I've seen a good few posts in this sub recently about the state of the game and people being upset about getting into lobbies with people shouting racial slurs, being racist/homophobic/transphobic etc. As someone who's been playing the game since 2018 I can say that I have definitely noticed a decline in the overall health of the game and feel like I should throw my input out there.

For me it pretty much comes down to this: Oh well, the game got too big and is now a reflection of the internet as a whole. These people have been here since the days of MW3 lobbies, nothing has really changed. I still have a lot of fun going to public worlds, meeting people and having a good time, it just usually takes a bit of instance hopping before I find a lobby without screaming kids and racist rage baiters who think they're funny. It's kinda a minor inconvenience in my eyes, and it's almost become part of my routine playing this game.

I've seen alot of people blaming quest compatible worlds like Black Cat and the overall quest player base as a whole for these issues, and while I understand why you'd come to that conclusion, Blackout, Murder 4, Duel Cafe, and so many more are all quest compatible worlds that I've been able to socialize and meet amazing people in without running into problems. I personally love this game, and I'm gonna keep on meeting cool people to party and play games with, and try not to give rage baiters what they want, your rage.

Unfortunately, it's an online game with next to no moderation, of course you're gonna find people saying shit they shouldn't say, it's the internet, no one ever has to take accountability for their actions here, so they're gonna use that opportunity to try to get a reaction out of you, and it works so they're not stopping any time soon. Best thing to do in those situations is to leave, go to a new instance, roll the dice and hope to meet some decent human beings this time.

TLDR: Yeah, the game's player base can be cringe, it is what it is. Just don't engage with it and it'll go away

I have experience with a kitbash, so I’m kind of familiar with blender. I just can’t find a decent tutorial on how to make good quality clothing. Sending links would help.

I'm a researcher, who is conducting a research on virtual identities, I am intrigued by the idea of bidding farewell to one's avatar. If you were to say goodbye to your virtual self one day, what would you say and what would you be bidding farewell to?

I am currently recruiting volunteers to participate in a study as part of my research. Volunteers must be over 18 years old, fluent in English, and have rich experience in VR social interactions. I am particularly interested in individuals who have recently felt a strong desire to bid farewell to and commemorate a particular experience or aspect of their avatar. Volunteers must also be willing to participate in online interviews.

Each volunteer will be treated with the utmost respect, and recruitment will take place from May 16th to May 20th. If you are interested, please feel free to contact me or leave a comment below. Recruitment will continue until suitable volunteers are found.

I just want to know if anyone has any to share that are nice (humanoid not furry ofc) um or a better place to search for the items.
I can't find naked models to build on, since I struggle to find them on Gumroad or booth- and when I find nice models they don't list the base but don't have comms or selling the base themselves.

Hello! So, I'm trying to make an avatar and I'm having an issue I've never had before: when walking backwards or side-to-side, the head jitters and bobbles, and when using GoGoLoco 1.8.3 to sit down, the head sinks into the neck along with the view point. This only happens in-game and not with the Avatar Emulator in Unity.

I've tried everything from changing the armature to removing GoGoLoco to see if it fixes the issue and nothing has worked so far. It's driving me up a wall, lol.

If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, I'd be really grateful to hear them. Thank you!

Many will read this and most definitely laugh. To be honest just thinking of how I'm going to type this out is surely laughable. For the few that genuinely want to know the proper experience in VRC. allow me to demonstrate..

2018. Arguably the best year of VRC. Unfortunately I was near the end however I did get to experience was exhilarating. When you start VRC, your introduced with your main hub. Shortly after you'll find there are many instances to your liking. For me when I first started, I joined the maps that where simple. Very soon after for me it was the dance community. I actually got to the point where I would participate in events, DJing for in game clubs. Other users who joined would dance and communicate.

There's no shame in having fun with VRC. There are ovie instances where you can watch films with friends. You can simply go to worlds and my God some of it is beautiful. to experience in Vr..

My biggest fun and I know it sounds conceded and messed up;. But I loved talking to women in game. Yo hear a cute girl in that sexy anime avatar = your dream pleasure. Believe it or not I actually met a girl from Switzerland and one thing led to another, she flew all the way to stay with me for two weeks. Point being, reason I mention any of of this is VRC can be very fun. Immersive. You can meet great friends or even love interests.

One thing I would recommend is to be careful. You can get so sucked in and distracted to where you start neglecting work, family/friends. Even hygiene.

I haven't played VRC in a few years. Even if I could, I wouldnt want to. It could be a whole new ballpark now. Or more or less the same. Just be careful.

I deleted VRchat and my account the other day. I'm not interested in playing the game anymore. Why are people like this? You chat to someone and they casually drop some rancid racism or transphobia. You constantly get people yelling the N-word. The conversations turn sour so quickly. I don't know how many times I've heard people make just detestable rape "jokes".

How is this a fun game for anyone? Meeting people is like searching for diamonds in the rough, except the rough is pig shit with very 19th century ideas of human rights.

Where is the fun?

I literally just want to play VRChat I'm not too interested in other games and I want to know like what GPUs do you guys use or recommend and how's the experience.
