Is Volcanion’s lore based in Kalos or Alola?

I know Volcanion was introduced in Gen 6 but we weren’t given any lore that tied it to Kalos as far as I know and it’s theme seems to fit with Alola a lot better. I would love to see a Volcanion storyline in ZA regardless

I genuinely can’t fathom the mindset behind shiny hunting

If shiny Pokémon were actually rare, I would absolutely understand the appeal, but I can get any shiny Pokémon in my game from a sysbot in 30 seconds. I literally can’t understand how a person can justify spending 40 hours soft resetting for something they can get easily get instantly

It’s like spending 10 years building a business to earn a million dollars when there’s been a button on your desk the whole time that would just deposit it into your bank instantly

Does anyone have a source for the claim that Zeraora was planned for Gen 6?

I’ve been seeing a lot of people claiming that Zeraora was originally intended to be in generation 6, but I have not been able to find a source for the information. Does anyone have a source for this information? (Centro is not a reliable source.)

I’ve also seen the claim paired with people saying Ultra Beasts were planned for Gen 6 as well. This gives me pause on the credibility of any of this info, as it conflicts with the fact that Game Freak developers had previously mentioned in interviews that Ultra Beasts were inspired by invasive species which were a big problem in Hawaii (Alola).

Does someone know a site where i could build Pokemon town ?

I really want to try to create my own version of existing pokemon towns to see how much i can improve them.

It's not to be playable, just for the fun to create.

So i'm wondering if there is some site like Inkarnate which are specialised to create pokemon maps.

Will they ever make games with a different color theme than red and blue?

Every Pokémon game is just red and blue

Gold is red

Silver is blue

Ruby is red

Sapphire is blue

etc

It would be nice if we got games with like green and pink or something

Does Light Clay work with Glitzy Glow and Baddy Bad?

Basically just the title. Bulbapedia doesn't list them on the Light Clay page, but it would seem odd for it not to...

I don't care about that leaked stuff, I still like Lapras, Rapidash and Typhlosion

I think you all know about the unhinged scrapped fourth gen Canalave folk tales that depict Pokémon being tortured and killed for fun, Typhlosionanthropes impregnating young women, humans laying with Pokémon and stuff.

You have to remember that they were scrapped and that, like all myths, they are just an allegory of ancient times, not to mention that they aren't even in the games.

I'll continue ti call the Cyndaquil line my favourite among Johtho starters. And I still like Lapras, who has quite a role and scenes in PMD2...

The monkeys paws on asking for more sidequest for pokemon

On one hand I think it's a needed feature for mainline titles, since people really just wants more things to do in the games, when you ain't playing the story, maybe you could simply learn competitive battling, master all 300 curry or sandwich or catch them all to pan the game out, but not everyone is into that, which is okay.

So, I do think sidequest features is a much needed thing to add.

On the other hand, what I would fear is that said multiple sidequest would either be nothing more than a reskinned fetch quest variants, or a bunch of mini games that has nothing to do with core game, like a Yakuza Game, which would be fine especially for the kids, but it probably would eat alot of dev time gamefreak don't have much time already, that they could have use to polish the actual game more.

I think instead, I hope bunch of sidequest could more like a challenge on your understanding of the Game, like maybe a sidequest help train another fellow kids pokémon, by that I mean YOU have to battle using that kids Pokémon in a battle, and that kid used yours. Like a rental pokemon, you win the gauntlet of challenges you get a really good item like a free focus sash or something.

Also to make the sidequest feels less padding, maybe make each one has a "personal reason" that you can do them, by simply alligning them to fit the players end goal of becoming the champion, with maybe actual results like obtaining an item to help get your Pokémon in the end.

Similar to how the anime can make ash ketchum able to do other than just training between each battle, by saying stuff like "if you bake a cake, you can meet the world champion Leon"

Why can't I name my Pokemon "Albedo"?

I caught a Nacli earlier and wanted to name it Albedo, but for some reason, the game won't let me. I'm genuinely perplexed by this. From what I could find, "Albedo" isn't a banned word on the Switch, nor does any particular arrangement of letters translate to a slur or curse word in another language. Am I missing something?

Can't evolve Kadabra, is it still worth it end game? (Pokemon Platinum)

(Sorry if this isn't the best place to ask) Apparently Kadabra evolves into Alakazam via trade, and I have no way to trade my Kadabra. Do you all think Kadabra will stay worth it as the game continues, or will it start to fall behind the rest of my party as they evolve? If so, what Pokemon would you replace him with if he starts to fall behind? I like to keep a psychic type on my team to help balance everything out if possible. (Also sorry if this isn't typical formatting it was an afterthought, but side question: I can't evolve Porygon either, are they worth it to keep too?) Thank you for any answers in advance!

Does Ash encounter other Team Rocket Members?

I always liked Team Rocket in the games. (I only played Yellow and Silver unfortunately) Let’s face it, Team Rocket is much more menacing/Threatening in the games. I always felt like “Our” team rocket (Jesse, James, Meowth) were like the rejects, outcasts, wannabe version of Team Rocket. Did Ash and friends ever encounter the “Real” Team Rocket?

Team Rocket from the games, especially Silver, were my favorite part, unraveling their mystery, foiling their plans, teaming up with Lance. It was just cool and, to my memory at least, the show never had that aspect to it. Am I misremembering? Were there Rocket-based episodes? I honestly dont even remember Ash getting his final badge so I might be misremembering things.

WHAT POKÉMON SHOULD AND SHOULD NOT BE : a discussion on the humanlike final evo starters trend and other humanlike designs, and the dangers of unnatural Pokémon

I believe modern Pokémon designs are getting more humanlike, more overdesigned, and less natural like. However, all generations have both good and bad designs. There are however 2 actual trend I want to discuss.

  1. In gen 1 and mostly also gen 2 humanlike Pokémon were all Fighting or Psychic types. These 2 types are a representation of what humans could potentially evolve into. It looks quite likely they would be human shaped. They also had a funny design not meant to be took seriously most of the time. Later humanlike Pokémon are of different types and are not mostly meant to be silly looking. But I do think a humanlike Pokémon should have a BIG reason to look humanlike, otherwise it should not be.
  2. From gen 6 onwards final evolution starters feel more and more wrong. How did we go from Charizard to Cinderance or from Sceptile to Meowscarade ? Why they mix an animal with a...human profession ?! Those humanlike designs are now often even furry baits. OK, THE furry bait, Lopunny, is pretty old, but it was a weak Normal type no one used, until they gave it an unappropriate looking Mega. Starters, more than anything else, should be THE elemental beasts.

However, I wanted to show how far the concept of humanlike Pokémon can be brought and how bad it could be.

I made a Fakemon, which is meant to be a gen 1 Legendary, a Normal type counterpart of Mewtwo, and a human-Pokémon chimera. It turns out, as it had to, it is an abomination.

https://www.reddit.com/r/pokemon/comments/1g167ph/what_pok%C3%A9mon_should_never_be_a_grim_reminder_of/

It looks unnatural. It can not be something macroevolution made, and indeed it is not, but it perfectly shows what a Pokémon is not, and thus what it should be. It should be something macroevolution could actually pull off in a fantasy planet.

Now, is not like every humanlike Pokémon is like my Fakemon. No one is for now actually. But what about gen 10 ? I am concerned.

Hardest NPC? Not including gym e4 or post in any games

Who is the hardest NPC fight who is not:

A gym leader An e4 member A post game trainer

I've been playing through emerald recently and got me thinking about annoying NPC's, for example the rival fight in Ruby sapphire under cycling road is so annoying even speed runners fear it. There's also this one trainer in the route east and south of fortree city that has 1 Milotic in the rain that always gives me a little trouble. Who are some of the most annoying NPC's?

I want to get into romhacks and modded games, but I have a hard time doing so. Can anyone help?

Here's the thing, I love Pokemon. I love collecting and playing the games.

But my biggest reason for playing is two fold:

  1. Adding to my Pokemon Home/Bank collection.
  2. Trading Pokemon.

So my biggest issue is romhacks. I can't get into them because I always hit the same issue:

  • Once I beat the game, what do I do with my team/collection?

From what I understand, romhacks or modded games don't allow for trading or transferring of Pokemon for obvious reasons. But if I can't take my Gen 3 Pokemon all the way to Scarlet/Violet to see how they do in that game, then what's the point?

I want to get into romhacks. I want to try the kaizo games or the "perfect" romhacks people make of Yellow or Crystal. But the back of my head always lurks the same thought:

  • If I can't transfer my team/collection forward, I'm not interested.

Does anyone else have issues like this? What can I do to overcome these feelings? I feel like I'm in conflict between my desire to try new romhacks and my desire to expand my collection of Pokemon.

Best pokemon for fighting wildfires?

Containing wildfires is tough work and takes a lot of different skills other than just pouring water on it. I think a surprising variety of pokemon could play a role in fire management. What do you guys think firefighters would use in the pokemon world? I'm no expert but here are a few I would pick:

  • Pelipper: can put out smaller fires with water attacks while dampening the region with Drizzle, and also carry pokemon to safety in its mouth. Good for hard-to-reach places.
  • Ursaring: Ursaring's sense of smell is really good letting it sense smoke as well as pokemon. It is also able to knock down trees and dig trenches to create firelines.
  • Blastoise: With its canons, Blastoise is pretty suited to blasting fires from long range and can clear through debris with rapid-spin.
  • Charizard: Charizard can fly through the most inflamed regions to rescue pokemon, and can also do controlled burnings to remove flamable flora in the path of a fire.
  • Venusaur: I wanted to add this to complete the starter trio at first but the more I think about it the more I realise that a grass type would be very useful for checking on the health of ecosystems beforehand, able to sense which trees are dying and which ones are drying up. Will also help in replanting and restoring burned ecosystems.
  • Audino/Chansey: helps tend to injured/burned pokemon with heal bell and wish/softboiled.

Which would you guys want on your team? I'm interested in reading what you have to say and what creative options you can do with pokemon.

I wish future Pokémon toys could be a bit more "fun"-ish?

Not saying is not fun or that their merch ideas all sucks, considering they become the number 1 franchise in the world and 90% come from selling toys and merchandise, they clearly know what they are doing.

I'm just asking considering, with them having alot of money, and have a company like Nintendo as their co-owner, they could spice it up when it comes to what toys/merch they can make/sell.

Like how Nintendo does approach with their toys now and espiecially their toy era, always thinking ways to make different/clever ideas from an old concept, ranging from the ultra hand to a game and watch with playable super mario bros.

Like maybe a new Pokémon-mini but now contains either Pokémon red, blue and yellow inside which which has infrared to allow trading and battling other people with their own devices.

Maybe even connect them to Pokémon home so you can transfer those to the mainline games.

Or something smaller like a Pokémon TCG amiibo card, and scanning that card to a mainline game can give you that Pokémon, maybe even a special move only that specific event Pokémon can learn.

Or maybe a TCG accessory, like a projector that you put on the table and with AR technology you can add cool effects and sound to the game, and make the card game actually look like those TCG video games in real life.

And just general, off wall ideas you don't see much from your average toy maker/toy seller would usually add on their shelfs.

I made a "human" Pokémon based on humans from a TTRPG where humans fight Pokémon, and are even ridiculously overpowered (compared to what they should be like), with a BST of no less than 350. Let us find strategies to make this Pokémon viable modern or past ZU/PU.

I found out there is TTRPG named PTR where humans fight Pokémon, and this is not even the weirdest thing about it. Indeed humans there have a solid 100/50/50/50/50/50 stat spread. It is literally stronger than Pikachu. So I made a Fakemon based on it.

Name : Human

Here the sprite for Human

https://preview.redd.it/i-made-a-human-pok%C3%A9mon-based-on-humans-from-a-ttrpg-where-v0-qnwi8e6rapsd1.png?width=179&format=png&auto=webp&s=bd4d447114e5f1e3ae00dabd55aa15418f54459c

Species : Homo sapiens

Type : Normal/Fighting

Height : 2,0 m

Weight : 96,0 kg

Ability : Adaptability

Hp 100

Atk 50

Def 50

Sp Atk 50

Sp Def 50

Spd 50

MOVES

Body Slam, Comet Punch, Dizzy Punch, Double-Edge, Double Kick, Double Slap, Focus Energy, High Jump Kick, Karate Chop, Jump Kick, Low Kick, Mega Kick, Meditate, Mega Punch, Pound, Rage, Rest, Rolling Kick, Seismic Toss, Skull Bash, Strenght, Submission, Tackle, Take Down.

Now let us find strategies to make this Pokémon viable in current ZU/PU, or in past lower tiers. NFE is excluded because Human can not evolve.

Here the set I would run

Jolly Nature

252 Atk EVs, 252 Spd EVs, 4 Def EVs

Meditate

Body Slam

Double-Edge

Double Kick/High Jump Kick

With no Sword Dance, set up efficency is limited, but if the chance presents itself such as if the enemy is predicted to switch out, then Meditate is better than nothing at all. Damaging moves let no coverage for Ghost types at all, but at least there are some good moves there. Body Slam is for a common attack, hoping paralysis will come and trigger a switch out, and a free setting up turn, Double-Edge is the finisher if Body Slam is not enough. For Rock, Steel, and also Ice, Dark and other Normal types Double Kick is the low risk, low reward option, and can break Substitute, while High Jump Kick is for power. All moves are powered up by Adaptability, will this make attacks from a 50 base stat viable ? It is still higher than Onix's base Atk !

Maybe not the best place to ask this, but why are there no imaginative Pokemon gauntlets?

Follow me on this journey. I realize the real Pokemon games have to basically have a lower difficulty because it's a children's game first. Fine. But I never see romhacks do crazy gauntlets of trainers just to mess with people.

Examples:

  1. A dungeon full of trainers where every single one has "Pressure" as an ability. So all your Pokemon are draining their PP twice as fast. By the end, your entire team is basically using struggle to beat the final bosses.
  2. A series of fights designed to piss off hardcore nuzlockers. Like, being forced to fight 5-6 trainers in a row with no means of healing yourself. You're encouraged to use Shell Bells or Leftovers, and after each "fainted Pokemon" your friends give you revives and full restores saying "just use these during the battle!" (Since Hnuzlockers can't use items in battle.)
  3. A series of tough battles, but the final boss has nothing but Pokemon with Aftermath. So even if you have a full team, they'll be hurting after dealing with 6 aftermath Pokemon.
  4. A series of trainers that always start with Perish song. Like, every Pokemon they have use that move first. Always.

I wonder, are there any romhacks that "troll" trainers or make it nearly impossible for "challenge" runners?

Figuring out base stats for new Pokémon

Hello there ! So, I'm currently playing a ROM hack that added a Pokémon that is not in the base game and was originally a Gen1 glitch Pokémon. Just by looking at its stats at level 50 (exactly how I caught it, no EVs or anything) I can tell it has wildly different base stats compared to what it had back in Gen1, and I was wondering if there was a way to find out what they are, approximately ? I have looked everywhere but could not manage to find anything.

What are some creepy/controversial stories tied to the Pokémon franchise?

I was searching for some controversial or creepy facts and stories related to the Pokémon franchising, like the 2000's Satanic panic, Burger King's Poké Balls, Mewtwo's origins and science ethics, the downfall of Takeshi Shudo, Porygon shock... Do you know any other?

Edit: it must be enough material for a video, not a short one.

If there is a Pokken tournament 2, how could they handle phase shift.

As a guy who enjoys all types of competitive fighting games, like street fighter, Tekken, KoF, Guilty Gears and even smash.

I think the phase shift really did alot to Pokken to make it alot more original, even when the game is suppose to be just a crossover with Pokémon and tekken.

Back then it did work as a mechanic, actually making those shitty anime arena fighter an actual competitive game, it was also a fun way to prevent annoying crap like infinites or wobbles because of the constant phasing forcing to adapt, while also allows the other side to turn the tables.

Even back then FGC players like Maximillian dood even considered more fun than street fighter 5 at the time, before street fighter 5 got all is updates and Pokken tournament stayed the same years later

Problem today back then when you either play it at arcades then later Wii U, both of which has ways for both players always have their own screen to look at, with the Wii U gamepad or just playing besides you at the arcade.

Now on Pokken tournament DX on switch there's no guarantee, unless of course a friend of yours also just happens to also bring their switch and a copy of the game, or you played in that split screen mode which cut the frame rate in half, which for fighting game..is really gross.

For maybe tournament setups is fine to just make multiple setups with multiple Nintendo switches but for the average man..the most accessible setup is just horrible, crappy framerate or a gimped 2nd player.

I'm usually inclined to just have a sequel that just plays like Tekken except Pikachu is heihachi again, I'm also bit torn to because it is still an original mechanic that did helped make this game stand out, and was competitively viable even(it did have an EVO run, which you can't say the same for alot of other competitive fighters)

While the phase shift itself I think is unique to the series, I'm honestly not sure how could it work on a regular home console, unless the switch 2 is just slightly powerful enough to make split screen mode 60fps..but seeing how even other anime arenas like sparking zero still could solve this issue on the PS5 I'm not holding my breath.

Rby Game Corner

I heard that you have to watch the symbols closely, but even when I do that I have absolutely zero luck. I’ve one maybe twice out of twenty times. It’s driving me insane and I’m starting to wonder if my game is glitched. (I’ve been exiting the game corner and walking back in as well so the chances reroll)

Is there anything I can do?

Balancing Types?

I want to start off by saying I know that some types are meant to be weaker, Normal and Bug being prime examples. But I feel that, with the power creep only getting worse as the franchise continues, some of these types should get adjusted to fair better on more pokemon without being reliant on abilities or stats to be meta-relevant, and I have some ideas how they could shake up the competitive scene and give some old mons new life.

I know I mentioned Normal, but really I feel like it's best to remain untouched. So many normal types either have an additional type to add flavor or strong movesets to give them some coverage. Plus too many special attributes would lose what makes Normal unique. The only possible suggestion I have would be an additional resist by Dragon types, but even that is a stretch.

Next up is Bug. I really feel that the resistance between it and Fairy should be mutual. Bug types are already incredibly weak overall, and exacerbate the idea of some types relying on outstanding pokemon to shine. Heracross, for example, has good stats, a great secondary typing, and good coverage in its movepool, making it a fine competitive Bug type. Spidops, on the other hand, has garbo stats, weak movepool... you get the picture. Giving Bug a mutual resistance would give it something unique compared to most other types, as well as more opportunities in the competitive scene.

Finally, Ice type. It is a great offensive type, hitting flying, dragon, and ground, but it is lackluster defensively. Bulky ice types are few and far between, and it doesn't take much to hard counter an offensive Ice type. My suggestion isn't a type interaction, but instead a special trait. I love when types have special traits that boost their viability, grass being immune to powders or dark being immune to prankster. I suggest adding a boosted evasion stat in snow or harsh sunlight. It would fit ice types well, and provide a unique defensive option outside of direct buffs. Not to mention it would boost the viability of snow cloak users.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

Always intrigue that mainline pokemon games sell like crazy, yet the very genre of the games are still considered niche.

Of course the power of branding is definitely the main reason, but at the same time, pokemon spinoff specifically made for switch, could barely hold the candle to the sales of mainline, we taking 3 million peak vs 20 million average.

you can say because they are RPG games, but at the same time why couldn't that be reflective to the RPG genre as a whole? the only other RPG franchise, i can only recall is considered huge is dragon quest but that's mostly in japan, and not really the rest of the world, and overall the world wide perspective i always been told is that the RPG series is considered the least evergreen game franchises you can play, espiecially turn base RPG.

i know people gonna say "but palworld is an rpg and it too sold like crack" but when you actually look at the game itself, that game is clearly more primarily a surival game like minecraft with some RPG mechanics, a game genre that universally just sells like crack.

the only time i seen a RPG game become huge is when the game itself is carried by word of mouth, because of good it is by the target audience, like baldurs gate 3, or final fantasy XIV, or WoW.(clearly not something pokemon can say they have yet)

of course pokemon is the bigger franchise overall, yet the mario series, another series that can equally sell the same amount of games, yet Mario's RPG games sold the same amount of numbers as a pokemon spinoff game on the switch.

and is also clear ""quality"" ain't even a factor, just by looking at the sales of scarlet violet vs the amount of "backlash" these games has.

the only theory i could give is simply marketing.
mainline simply just have the biggest marketing budget the pokemon company gives to their games that isn't a mobile. infact, pretty much everything pokemon merchandise/media that made up 90% of pokemon's profit is essentially a commercial for the current mainline games specifically, a commercial that is actually the one that makes most of your revenue.

so for the average everyday man, when they look up "pokemon game on switch" chances the game that they will find first and by default fancy them the most, is the one that stars the fancy new pokemon you seen plushes of them every day like the current mainline starters, or the legendaries of the current generation.

and they don't care what exactly the game is as long as it has the word "pokemon" in the title, regardless of the games quality.

in the same spirit that the actual best selling mario games are basically the most ""googlable"" mario games out there, because there is no way in hell paper mario the thousand year door is gonna be the first thing you find when you look up "mario games on switch"

Can someone explain to me this about Effort Values

I know about EV completely But I have always wondered Why are Ev total 510 Shouldn't It be 511 according to Bit logic Even tho now it will leave 3 EV which will still be useless but it should be like that no?

What if i decide to have 200 EV in 1 stat 200 in 2nd It never hit 255 And then the game should still be able to think as if there's still not any stat that is completed their max EV So it should still be able to send the maximum EV it can send to maybe the 3rd state or maybe 3rd or 4th splitting There should be 111 EV left Why can't it store the 511 ? We know the bit logic saves 0 as a digit also so 512 can't be But what is wrong with 511? Sorry if am not making sense.

My idea of Pokemon Z basically Platinum for Kalos. Part 1 Gym Leaders

So as title says this is my attempt to make a platinum version of Kalos but adding the challenge mode for players so both newbies people looking for a challenge or causal run anybody can get what they want. I already been fantasizing about remaking Kalos Gym Leaders for a while even replacing Gym leaders and at one point making Alain the champion instead however after taking checking out some other ideas especially on Okreactions or I am the Bookworm here is there video and post if you are interested https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYSErDNn4mEhttps://www.reddit.com/r/pokemon/comments/18nvo1s/if_you_could_fight_the_kalos_gym_leaders_in_any/.

I think I can now manage a fair and balanced improvement to game.

Sorry for bad spelling and I will be allowing Pokémon to learn moves they don't know.

1st Gym Viola

Level 10 Surskit Level 12 Vivillon( Tundra/Ice if you picked Grass, Continental/electric if you picked Water Sandstrom/Ground if you picked fire)

1 potion

Level 12 Surskit Level 12 Butterfree Level 14 Vivillon(Oran Berry) Tundra/Ice if you picked Grass, Continental/electric if you picked Water Sandstrom/Ground if you picked fire

2 potion

TM Infestation(Base power 40)

Anyway I decided to have the game take advantage of Vivillon alternate forms to make it more different than an average Butterfree clone and to counter the player's starter pokemon but it's still early game where you'll depends quit a bit on it which is why I didn't make a grass water fire form plus this can teach newbies there are more problems for your starter than your rival's pick. Pikachu and Dunsparce will be moved to later in the game. Surskit gets Rain Dance which works the same way it did in earlier gens softening fire and strengthening water type moves and goes well with it's swift swim ability . Butterfree is pretty tough early game it's motive is too try and put your team to sleep or paralyze them and whittle as much health as it can with infestation(which is basically a much better Posionpowder) so Vivilon can take out what's left.

In the basic mode. It will be having weak moves like Powder snow thundershock Sand tomb. Challenge mode gives it Charge beam Icy Wind Mud Slap(Base 35).

2nd Gym Grant

Level 19 Onix Level 20 Amaura Level 20 Tyrunt

1 Super potion

Level 20 Onix(Quick Claw) Level 21 Relicanth Level 22 Amaura(Oran Berry) Level 22 Tyrunt(Oran Berry)

2 Super Potions

TM Rock Tomb

Also Riolu and Hawlucha will be moved to later in game to prevent too many easy counters to grant's team. You don't get the super rod yet so Relicanth Luvdisc or Wailmer(if this game has it). Carvanha can be caught by an old rod though. Also the levels will be smaller because of the cites and caves will be added to later in the game over 9 routes and caves from 1st gym to second gym is kinda of ridiculous. Onix in both versions has sturdy its's purpose is as a set up Pokemon meant to get off at least a stealth rock and maybe a sandstrom, With Quick Claw it has luck to try and pull off both maybe with chip damage. Relicanth was picked for the same reason Okreactions mentioned it's really underrated and Binacle evolution will already be used by Siebold. Relicanth ability rock head will allow it to use Double Edge(Yes I know Take down is an option but it's a challenge mode for a reason) with no issue and Work up to boost it's physical and special moves at the same time. Amaura gets Body Slam instead of Take down going while with refrigerate and Dazzling Gleam instead of Psybeam in challenge mode to deal with Fighting type Pokemon. Tyrunt will be getting Dragon tail since it learns that already by Level 20 even in the game in both versions however I will also be giving it Fire Fang to deal with any geinsues using their Chespin evolved or not and Steel Pokemon and Ice Fang to deal with Ground Pokemon especially the ones you find in caves and Geninsues using Chespin or it's evolution. Yeah I don't have any super effective moves for Froakie or anyone bringing water types but I think the next gym will be hard enough for them. In the normal version Tyrunt will just be using Hyper Fang and Bite.

3rd Gym Clemomnt

Yeah I'm taking inspiration from Platinum and having you fight the 5th earlier which makes sense it won't take too long to travel back especially with the changes I plan to the map and/or having a guy who can easily transport you there just for a few bucks. Plus both of their aces evolve with a stone so there are still very strong but make sense.

Level 26 Emolaga Level 26 Raichu Level 28 Heilosik(Sitrus Berry)

1 Super Potion

Level 27 Emolga Level 27 Raichu(Air Ballon) Level 28 Rotom(Mow if you picked Water Heat if you picked Grass Wash if you picked Fire) Level 30 Heilosik(Sitrus Berry)

2 Super Potions

TM Volt Switch

Sturdy will be more of an uncommon ability. Heilosik will have Parabolic Charge as it's electric move in both versions. Emolga will also be using rain Dance in both so Heilosk can take advantage of it with it's dry skin ability. Heilosik will be using water pulse in the normal version and Surf in Challenge mode. Swift in both versions.

I was going to give him an underleveled Magneton but Raichu has a lot less weakness and a better movesets can use Double Team Body Slam(Mega Punch in Normal version) Grass Knot and Volt Switch. Emolga can use thunder wave in both and has Acrobatics(Instead of Aerial Ace) in challenge mode. The Rotoms fill the same purpose the Vivilon plus having a strong pokemon with little to no weakness and you can't use your starter just works. Also in a future gen Rotom can learn electric terrain so why not introduce a few gens early good luck.

4th Gym Korrina

Level 30 Mineffo Level 30 Hawlucha Level 31 Pangoro(Sitrus berry) Level 33 Mega Lucario

1 Hyper Potion and full heal

Level 32 Mineffo(Rocky Helmet) Level 32 Hawlucha Level 33 Pangoro(Sitrus Berry) Level 35 Mega Lucario

2 Hyper Potions and full Heal

TM Powerup Punch

Being the one who introduces mega evolution to the player I think it would make much more sense if it was incorporated into the gyms and she was the first to use it against you. I think you can fully understand why I put Clemont 3rd now. Sigilyph is moved to later in the game. You will however be getting a Riolu after this gym battle.

Mineffo gets reganator(an ability that heals some hp for switching out) Fake out Baton Pass Rock tomb Powerup punch I agree with him here except I'm giving Mineffo the rocky helmet instead. Hawlucha is going to get acrobatics in challenge mode instead of flying press and in the normal mode it would be aerial ace. Both versions will have Shadowclaw to counter Physic since Lucario is already part steel that takes care of fairy. Pangoro will be using Night Slash Powerup Punch Rock Tomb Bullet Punch in normal version. However it gets Ice Punch instead of Rock Tomb in challenge mode to counter Pokemon including someone bringing their starter Chespin which is most likely evolved by now and the ability Iron Fist but Pangro is already pretty strong but something boosting all it's fist attacks with it's already high attack stat will make it a nightmare.

Lucario is weak to Fire and Ground pokemon I was going to give it a water type move but figure I stay fair it can beat most pokemon in the game up to this point pretty easily even without the mega. It will have Swords Dance in both versions. Rock tomb and Metal Claw in the original in challenge mode it will be using Rock Slide and Iron head. I was going to give it a ground type move however most people will probably be using the new fletching or could get charmander to it's full evolution and since numel isn't in the game(I don't think so this makes the most sense).

Anyway that's half of the game let me know what you think in comments if I'm being too hard or easy.

Path to the peak made me realised how fun a Pokémon cartoon target for the west could be when done right.

Yes I know the studio that made it is not actually from the US entirely, as the animation is primarily done in china, Malaysia, Korea etc.

But the writing, the tone, setting, is clearly targeted to a western audience.

But even with that, plus detective Pikachu the movie, I never factor until how much we missed out from Pokémon media, when you actually give the IP to someone who likes Pokémon, and can actually write/animate things, outside of Japan a chance make a cartoon of the IP.

If I could wish for one, I kinda wish we could see wanime like cartoon for pokemon, animated kinda in the same spirit of avatar, Voltron, castlevania, my adventure with superman etc.
