As said asked above.
This is for round 1 of the Smogon OURLT tour
battle 2: https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9ou-2233623403
battle 3: https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9ou-2233626615
You might notice that battle one isn't here. Thats because I was stupid and forgot to save it. My opponent vouched that I won it though so it all worked out.
even a full supreme overlord is stoppable with things like strenght sap, intimidate, iron defense body press, will o wisp etc, but what do against a skeledirge that managed to hit 2 torch songs? or a psycho cut mewtwo that used nastly plot and have a aura sphere? Idk seems like spa sweep with way less tools than physical, you could say sucker punch, but now skeledirge is fairy type and killed you second mon, theres a reason salyrex and miraidon were banned

I couldn’t find much about stall teams when googling, so I made my own. And it’s been going great.
I’m running:
Spiritomb w/ Mental Herb and taunt/wisp/ally switch/ foul play
Regenerator Toxapex w/ Leftovers and liquidation/protect/toxic/venoshock
Drought Torkoal w/ Flame Plate and weather ball/heat wave/eruption/earth power
Porygon2 w/ Eviolite and Tera blast/ice beam/recover/hyper beam and I run it as Tera-steel sometimes
I’ve won several matches in a row on Violet. I actually just called a switch-in to metagross by my opponent, whose Salamence used stomping tantrum to activate weakness policy on metagross, but I had Spiritomb attack with foul play and it one-shot the metagross. Best play of my life lol
But I’m wondering if you guys have any tips for improvement or other stall Pokémon I should use? Thanks!
To those keeping up with Scarlet and Violet Overused, Finchinator stated that there will be a Gliscor suspect in a new future bar some drastic metagame development. This would be the second time Gliscor would be suspected this generation. The common sentiment was that Gliscor was absolutely worth banning if Kyurem left the tier, but in a surprising turn of events, that didn't happen.
So what is everyone's thoughts about Gliscor? It's a Pokemon with a defensive profile that can be difficult to cover in the builder sometimes. Hazard setting sets match up very well vs offensive teams, giving it ample opportunities to set multiple layers and Toxic on offensive Pokemon attempting to force Gliscor out. Swords Dance sets are strong vs more passive builds that lack the immediate burst damage needed to take it out. Meanwhile, SD Gliscor can set up multiple times, force progress with Knock Off + coverage, and even Tera to live an unexpected hit.
Despite these strengths, is it worth banning? It needs multiple boosts in order for it to do meaningful damage, and it's a useful defensive piece that may be needed to slow down the many offensive threats in SV OU. Also, it is not the best Tera Pokemon as its initial typing is immune to Spikes and really good in general.
Discuss!
There is a new team star themed online competition, set in singles, which I know nothing about. You can only use Pokémon used by team star (in image above). Another rule - one of your 3 out of 6 for each battle HAS TO be a Revavroom.
I know I'm keeping Arcanine and Revavroom, but, apart from that, I'm juggling between Daschbun, Toxapex, Dragalge, Annihilape, Kingambit and Azumarill.
Arcanine is planned to be a bulky Arcanine, with Flare blitz, E speed, snarl and will o wisp maybe?
Revavroom is a fast, offensive Pokémon, have no idea what moves
Daschbun idk an all rounder, soaks fire damage so good to pivot into
Toxapex - an annoying healer, spikes setter, etc
Annihilape - sweeper
Dragalge - special attacker, dragon pulse and sludge bomb (does it learn that?)
Kingambit - all round strong Pokémon, damaging, covers psychic type weakness
Azumarill - bulky strong Pokémon, covers fire and fighting (and more maybe) but weak to poison (I think) and steel
What do you think the top threats will be (and how to counter it)? Most used Vs least used?
I've never done singles before, only doubles, so I basically have no knowledge.
Sorry if title is too vague, but I just built a team for singles ou and have won about 10 games w it, so i'd say im doing pretty well, just wanted to see if i could improve my team at all. https://pokepast.es/74a21204f37d216b
Hey there, I’ve had decent success with my Kartana BO on low-ish mid ladder (1400s), and I’d like some teambuilding advice if you have any.

Team explanation: Kartana Scarf Kart is a good, strong pokemon which I decided to build around due to its cleaning potential and its ability to outspeed most unboosted wallbreakers. Pretty standard set, Defog over smart strike due to Iron Crown already covering that base.
Urshifu-Rapid Banded Urshifu acts as another strong physical wallbreaker that can break through Bulkier steel types with its STAB Close Combat. It greatly benefits from Kart’s ability to threaten Alomomola and take down faster threats. It also acts as a backup form of speed control with Tera water aqua jets taking down weakened threats.
Landorus-T Lando provides tons of general utility with stealth rock and Defog, as well as defensive utility with its electric and ground immunity and its ability to chip physical attackers with helmet.
Iron Crown Crown acts as a pivot for my breakers, as well as dealing with Lele and special attackers that the rest of the team struggle with. Future Sight with the combination of either of CC or lead blade exerts immense pressure on most teams.
Alomomola Alo provides much needed Wish support to its teammates which provide them with a semi-reliable recovery option. Toxic can also wear down threatening sweepers that the rest of the team can’t deal with.
Hydreigon Here’s the interesting off meta pick. Hydreigon has many useful resistances which my team benefits from, such as secondary dark resist, a backup ground immunity, and a much needed ghost resist. Thunder Wave cripples fast attackers, roar phases out setup sweepers, dark pulse is a spammable high pp STAB move that can flinch and chip bulky mons. I found Hydreigon to be very useful to my team, but I am still looking out for any other options that could be better suited.
Any advice is appreciated!
Welcome to Team Bazaar Tuesday! This is a platform for you to post the teams you have built in a more casual setting than RMT posts, similar to the Smogon Bazaar Threads.
#Rules:
strenght sap, parting shot, surging strikes and belly drum it had technician and a sitrus berry, he used belly drum, i put incineroar and tera ghosted thinking he would use population bomb and he did this shit

So I remember battling in the OU format and I keep seeing Hoopa UB on people's team. My question is how is it even allowed there in the first place. Hoopa has box legendary stats You might say that slaking and regigigas are allowed in OU and have similar stats (but thats different since they have bad abilities). Hoopa doesn't have any bad abilities. I just don't understand. Shouldn't it be in Ubers?
As the title says. Long time comp Pokémon watcher, finally trying to get into the scene.
I wanted to try my hand at actually improving at randbats, and not just mucking about, but I’m not sure where is the best place to find strategic/analytical discussions about the format.
The comp Pokémon community seems to have several reddits, discords, smogon forums, etc and it’s been hard to tell at a glance where’s the best place for me at this stage of my ability. (super weenie hut jr)
So far I’ve been reviewing content from high level players and trying to learn more about competitive play in general, but I figured it’s worth an ask if there’s some place specific that I’m unaware about.
Just trying to figure out what’s the best bang for my buck in terms of investing time as I try to get better at all this.
Any advice (even if it’s “there’s no centralized place, just transfer knowledge from other formats”) would be very appreciated.
Thanks!
Time to end this useless debate

I think I had a worse one in Gen1 where we both froze each other and missed 100acc moves and my opp even got screwed by 1-256 HP glitch. But I can't find it
This Gen3 game almost had it all. 10-20% status activating, crits, early game hax, middle game hax, and late game hax. The only thing it doesn't really have is missing since we both mostly use moves with 100% accuracy.
I'd like to know why the terrain-setting moves seem to not even be considered. I can see why dedicating a move slot would be worse than a terrain setting ability, what with taking a move slot and requiring a turn. However I can also see benefits, like being able to reset terrain without switching out. Hell, if speed's the problem every single terrain type can be set by a Prankster pokemon. What am I missing that turns terrain moves from niche to inconcievable?
This is a Lucario-centered team for Gen 8 UU and I would appreciate if someone could take the time to look over my team and provide me with information on how I could improve it. Whether it’s about movesets, items, abilities, EV’s or if there are better pokemon that could fit the roles I assigned or if there’s anything my team is missing or overall synergy.
