UPDATE 2024_09_23:

I've made the decision that in order to get started with all the updates/mod recruiting that are on my list I need to pick what's easiest first so I don't overwhelm myself with everything at once. This means I am currently focusing mod recruiting for one of our sister subreddits . Once things are running smoothly with the new mods over there I will try to take the next steps. The workload of doing approvals plus moderation related updates at the same time would be too much for me, therefore post approvals will be on hold until I can recruit additional moderators for this subreddit.

Apologies to everyone whose post is not being published at the moment.

Someone close to me has been struggling with an incurable illness for a while now. Against all my hopes things have taken a turn for the worst fast. It’s clear they don’t have much time left. For this reason I’ve decided to put all updates on hold to be able to spend these last days with them.

As their condition got worse throughout 2024, I realized I’d need to step back from reddit. Originally, I wanted to first focus on recruiting more mods and setting up better communication for the future before I fully step down. I was able to bring some great people on board for r/styrofashion and the next step was supposed to be doing the same for r/SelfHarmScars . When I made these plans I still had hopes for future medical treatments bringing some improvement and extending the life of my loved one. Due to the realization that there is no longer anything doctors can do, my priorities have shifted.

I’m glad that so far I have achieved the first part of my goals by completing the updates for r/styrofashion . I’ll try to pick things up again in the future, but in light of my current real-life struggles, I can't promise a timeline - only that things should get better once the new team can be recruited.

hi everyone I just like to ask questions if these scars will fade and shrink after a year? please don't judge me, I'm tired of hiding those scars and it just embarrass me so much, what natural remedy/oil ointments can I put to make these flatten and white? btw, if you're from Philippines please recommend me some effective silicon sheets/gel that are affordable, it's so hard to find some effective products here. And please please recommend some effective oils to naturally fade them, I don't like injections and laser because I heard that the scars will eventually go back after you stopped the treatment (I also don't have money for maintaining it, so I prefer natural remedies). what kind of scar is this / will it turn out to be? it hasnt been healing like my usual ones (thin, white scars)

Anyone else like to draw pictures on their skin? I just cut a house into my thigh. As a reward for not cutting when I was spiraling. I got to cut when I was stable.

been clean arm wise for about 5 ish months, did a tattoo for my friend that passed last year 🫶🏻 my phone keeps turning the pictures upside down so you're gonna have to deal with it im sorry 😭(don't mind the shaky linework, im still new to using the machine) (also it's at the peeling stage, don't mind that either)

Relapsed last night. Dad was mad at me for something I didn’t do. I only cut into the white layer. Usually I cut deeper into the fat layer but right now I can’t afford to have any stitches. Starting my intern next week. Wish me luck ✨
