I'm super frustrated right now. Even though I take my time, things keep happening that I just don't understand. For example, when I use masking tape, I end up pulling off both the primer and paint. I'm using Mr. Finishing Surfacer 1500 as a primer, combined with Vallejo Air.
For decals, I tried gloss varnish for the first time, and it looks like I just coughed on the model—super blotchy. Apparently, I'm also not the best at applying decals because they shine like an oil slick, and when I try to remove excess water from underneath, I somehow always end up rubbing off paint and primer. On top of that, the decals keep tearing apart.
All of this makes me leave my model sitting for days while I watch YouTube videos, seeing how others create insanely good-looking models, and then compare them to my sad attempt. I keep thinking that if I just buy the same products they use, it will get better—but it doesn’t really help.
I just wanted to vent a little and see if anyone else feels the same way.
Has anyone purchased train items from Hobby Pocket for delivery to USA?
I'm looking to make a ring myself and I wanted to know the name of these kind of golden studs on the tunrbuckle pads.
I want to know the name and where I can find it please.
It's like 3 or 4mm wide and maybe a 2mm wide rod.
My second Bandai build. Have any thoughts?
I bought one of these from Micro Mark years ago and lived it because it removes seams much more effectively than an Xacto blade, but I must have lost it during a recent move, and Micro Mark doesn’t appear to sell them anymore. I was surprised to find no similar options by googling it. Any ideas for a substitute?
In the interest of transparency, I am a Warhammer 40k fan and mostly build/paint those models. However, I have run into an issue. I want my warning labels and stickers to make sense on my models. I wasn't able to find what I was looking for on Google, but I wanted to reach out to you guys hoping you might know what I'm looking for. Is there a guide on how warning labels and stickers are placed on Military vehicles?
Hello all, I come from the Warhammer side. So I have this respirator mask (https://a.co/d/2sbAln5) I use for airbrushing and building models. From what I can tell it's very good for the airbrushing part as I only use standard acrylics through it, but I have also been using it when I assemble models and I have become worried if it is not sufficient and if I have been messing my self/my brain up. For a majority of model assembly I use Tamiya Extra Thin Plastic Cement and/or "Sprue Goo" and sometimes super glue too. Is this mask good for those purposes too? Also do I need the mask when assembling with super glue as well?
I'm just getting back into models and I know nothing. I'm in Canada what the basic paints and tools I should get
A 'what if' version of the WW2 armored river boat Project 1125. The white color on the deck, turret, and MRL launcher is meant to represent post war boats used by the Soviet border troops in the 1950s-60s and the border troops of various post Soviet states in the 90s.
So here's a concept of the Type E-class missile boat.
This is a boat I designed in Blender as a concept for the Hellenic navy, given how backward and outdated their fleet is.
There is also an unarmed version I designed for the coast guard and for civilian use, without the missile launchers and the round radar on the roof.
The design is partially inspired by the Zulfighar-class air defense boat and the Peykaap II and III-class fast partol/attack craft used by the IRGC navy.
All it needs now is a little bit of paint, though I'm not sure whether I should use Acrylic, Enamel, Lifecolor, or otherwise.
