My 21 year old son is very into model ships. I know nothing about models. Last year I bought him the black pearl golden. He loved it and it turned out very beautiful. I want to get him another ship for Christmas this year but I have zero clue what to get. He is an advanced ship builder. I want to get him something nice that will take him time. Good quality. I was looking at the Occre montanes but that’s a bit out of my price range sadly. Any ideas for what I can get?

I really want to build my favorite german ship, the "Adler von Lübeck" or "Eagle of Lübeck" in english, however I need some plans, since its really hard building that without them. There was a set by the company "Graupner", who made it in ~1965. The set wasn't perfect, with many errors, however I believe the plans would be a good starting point. Does anyone have them as a download, like a PDF, for me so that I can look at them? Thanks!

Curious as to what this may be on an old model. It's not mold. I'm wondering if the paint is lead based and is this something developing from the lead?

Rather than make up my own idea for the paint pattern, I searched far and wide for a color pic of the WW1 Olympic. There are indeed many photos, but all the ones I found were Black/White; not easy to work with when you need accurate color patterns.

Hey Guys and Girls! I am new to the modelship world, But Not new to timeconsuming Hobbys. I Wonder If it is smart/doable to start with the occre Diana as a First and probably only ship. I would Love to have a ship Like it in my Home to display, that ive build myself. I am making dioramas, without instructions, by myself, so i am Not new to modelmaking! Also i Made a riveted chainmaille, so I know what IT means to spent time on one Project!

So, would you recommend? Or is it a hard Nono? Thanks in advance!

I'm looking to gift a completed ship -- I didn't find any assembled ones for sale so am looking to build it myself or maybe find (and pay!) someone who can help build it for me. I have no experience building anything so not sure it's feasible for me to try... I saw other posts that said model ships could take 50-100 hours to build. If this kit takes take that long, then probably too expensive to pay someone to build anyways, and I'll scrap this idea

I build mostly model cars & trucks and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this kit? I’m also trying to decide whether to sell or trade it for cars but I’ve only seen one for sale on eBay for $60. Anyone want to take a stab at what they think it’s worth?

Hello all, I'm thinking of tackling the Airfix 1/700 Titanic soon, but because I figured everyone has done titanic, and I'm not fond of having a seemingly cursed ship on my desk, I'm wanting to make her into Olympic or Britannic (as intended) so does anyone know where I can get decals for olympic, or even better, the Davits and decals for Britannic? (I say this as Britannic is my favourite of the three)
