Resin Kits is a subreddit designed to for all fans of character model kits.
This includes resin, plastic, vinyl, 3D printed, you name it! Feel free to share your builds, WIPs, questions and enjoy your time here.
This is not however, a pre-painted figure collector sub, please refrain from opening topics of pre-painted unofficial figures that are wrongly called "garage kits" or "resin kits".

Hello, I am trying to get into this hobby as surely I don't have enough model-making hobbies already!
I first found e2046 and eye 2 kits from them, but I'll probably just get one as the shipping costs is like 2/3's the price of the kit at just the cheapest and I am new and cant afford the EMS shipping costs.
Now seeing stuff about them being slow and uncooperative and other things but the newest post i have seen is like 1 year old and change.
Have they changed or improved in this area? What should I expect from Airmail?
what about Shop2000? They are a tad more expensive off the bat but shipping isnt as bad of a cost?
PS: can paypal pay in 4 be used for either shop2000 or e2046?
Recently I’ve been trying to learn how to sculpt prototypes of resin kits from some Japanese books, but WAVE epoxy putty is almost non existent everywhere else… know any better epoxy putties to use? I have access to Mr Hobby epoxy putties that say they’re good for the cores of figures but I’m not sure
Hi, I am here to ask about a method of filling air bubbles on resin kits using crayons, a person on a youtube comment section said they dealed with air bubles like that and I have seen a youtuber doing it even tho I cannot remember wich video it was. Anyone has an idea about how to do it and if I need specific crayons? Thanks in advance.
Just found out about WonderFest in KY right after it ended last year from Adam Savage YT channel.
I'm not a big resin kit person anymore. Did some garage kit stuff back in the early 90s. Mostly do tabletop war gaming terrain and modelling now for myself and others.
Would there be much content for me at WonderFest, do they have "how to" panels or large number of vendors.
Ive made a couple of posts before about my airbrush and how it hasnt worked properly. I wanna start by that the needle isnt able to go in from the front, like front to back. I know it did before but it just stopped. I think it may be the problem.
The main problem is that when i put it together with a 0.5mm needle, the water i put in the cup still spits the tiniest amount out when i just push down. I already did soak the nozzle in acetone many times and now with a droplet to the tip of the airbrush. I guess that there is dried up smth in there but any of brush tools arent thin enough to fit in and clean properly soo im not sure. I did soak it fully the first time, but there was little acetone and i dont wanna do it again, only if its necassary cuz i would have to remove all of the o rings.
i wanna buy a kit that’s in stock, i’ve tried buying a pre order but it asked me for a deposit. if i order an available in stock product will i be asked for a deposit? and if i do need to put a deposit what happens after? do i wait a bit and then pay the full amount??
Hi all! New GK painter here gathering materials for my first kit. I'm looking to see if I can get white/grey rattle can primers on a budget, saving the Vallejo hobby primers/Tamiya fine primers as a last resort.
I've read around that Krylon is inconsistent, so Im skipping that, but that Rustoleum makes pretty decent primers for cheap.
I'm considering these rustoleum sprays
Has anyone used these effectively to prime?
My only other concern, would Rustoleum primers be compatible with a solvent sealant like Mr Super clear/Super smooth clear? I'd love to use these sealants as I own a lot of them already for doll customs, but Id hate to see MSC eating my primer/acrylics away (I think rustoleum sprays are enamel based?)
Also happy to hear other primer recommendations, but no airbrush primers please!
I'll be handpainting as I have no space to fit an airbrush/compressor, much less with appropriate safety measures!
Thank you everyone in advance:)
Does anyone know how I could contact booth to maybe get the right part? I ordered this via proxy and it came with 2 of the same part for the coat and I’m missing the other half… any ideas?
Hey so I made an account on E2046 and was trying to get a shipping estimate, so I put something in my cart, however their wesbite is so damn confusing and I guess I accidentally went to the payment page, and now my cart is empty and it wants me to go to the "payment page". Does anyone with experience in this company/store know how I can get them to cancel this request for the order? I wasn't dumb enough to link my paypal with this account, so I honestly don't know why they think I need to pay anything, I thought it would just take me to a page where I could look at the shipping information before I ACTUALLY needed to enter my payment info and check out. Please help and I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to post!
i know e2046 is popular and i tried buying from them but everything was pre order?? and i had to pay a deposit and i was so confused. besides e2046 and aliexpress i don’t know where to get them
Hi everyone,
I’m a hobbyist who enjoys collecting figures and spending time assembling and painting miniatures. Currently, I’m searching for garage kits or resin kits of some of my absolute favorite characters. Unfortunately, the search has been extremely challenging, and I’m hoping someone here might be able to help – whether it’s with tips, shops, communities, or even someone willing to part with one of these kits.
The figures/kits I’m looking for:
There are quite a few more, but I thought I’d start with these for now. I’ve already scoured countless sites, including eBay (German/English), Buyee, Mandarake, Yorokonde, 1999.co.jp, and even Japanese Amazon. I did "find" some original garage kits of Chobits, Cowboy Bebop, and Jigoku Shoujo once, but they were unfortunately no longer available, likely because they’ve been out of production for years.
My budget is somewhat limited, so I can’t afford to spend 200€ (or more) on a single kit. However, I’ve been searching for some of these figures for over 15 years. These series/games were a big part of my youth, and it would be a dream to add them to my collection – or even assemble and paint them myself.
If anyone has any leads on where to find such rare kits or tips for similar platforms or sources, I’d be incredibly grateful! Especially with older or less well-known series, it often comes down to pure luck to find something. Any help is appreciated. 😊
If anyone has other kits (preferably unknown, old, or just not what you like) lying around in their basement that they might not want or paint anymore, I’d be happy to take them off your hands and bring them to life! I just enjoy assembling and painting, and that’s the best way to learn and improve.
Thank you so much in advance!
I bought The-O resin kit from internet without inner frame, the price is high if I purchase individually. Is there any 3D printing or recast could substitute for the original?
