Resin Kits is a subreddit designed to for all fans of character model kits.
This includes resin, plastic, vinyl, 3D printed, you name it! Feel free to share your builds, WIPs, questions and enjoy your time here.
This is not however, a pre-painted figure collector sub, please refrain from opening topics of pre-painted unofficial figures that are wrongly called "garage kits" or "resin kits".

I think I left the pieces in the degreaser for too long 24-25 hours and the pieces some of them.. are flaky and soft is there anyway to fix this will leaving them in the fridge or freezer overnight harden them? How can I make them hard? The damage isn’t bad at all just want them to harden again.
Hello !
Today I primed my first kit, but the primer seems to not cover everything ? I don't know if it's normal or should I put another layer. Sorry for the low quality pictures, but as you can see the putty part aren't fully white. I used Vallejo White primer with an airbrush. ( I airbrushed a several times)
Does anyone know how flammable multi primers like gaias or finishers are?
Eg how do they compare to normal primers like the mr csurfacer ones? Are they more flammable? Less flammable?
Or are they so flammable they’re more flammmablr than thinner?
I am having zero luck in finding any kits from the Lunar game series. Tried Etsy, eBay, e2046, and a general Google search. Anyone ever found any?
I think I messed up the skin tone of my figure. I’m considering just airbrushing over it with a few more layers of acrylic but I’m afraid I’ll lose detail that way.
Is there a way to strip acrylic paint but keep the primer? Thankfully this is pretty early in my painting process so I’m not at a huge loss if I need to strip it all off.
So: to paint over or to strip?
So I keep seeing modge podge in the craft stores and wondered if it has any use in GK making and if I should get some. I've seen there's different types, too. As far as I understand it's a type of glue and could be used for some diorama, but is there any other use for it? Mostly just curious and want to know if anyone has used it for making kits.
Hi everyone!
I just wanted to ask, what sort of paints would you use for the shine components on your kits?
Would you just buy a metallic paint and use that, or is there a gloss top coat you'd reccomend?
Thank you!
Hey everybody! I just picked up my first garage kit and I'm wondering what kind of paints that people use. I paint smaller models pretty regularly but don't think the paint I use for those us a high enough quality to use on a figure. I'm also wondering about traditional brushes vs air brushes for skin and other parts of the figure. Really any tips and tricks would be appreciated. If there's already a thread that talks about this I'd appreciate being pointed in the right direction as well. Thanks for your time!
I have been holding onto this kit for literal years since it came out. I am a HUGE fan of Yokki's work so I have been hesitant to work on this figure. I am definitely inexperienced when prepping and painting kits but I also really wanted to paint this kit and not sit in my closet.
I also need to get better at taking pictures! It's a learning experience. I hope you guys enjoy it.
I live in northern New England. Finding any figure kits, besides Gundams, is difficult. There's one store nearby by that carries a few, but not many. I do shop online, but I like a physical store where I can chat with the workers.
Looking for stores in Maine, New Hampshire, and Mass with a good selection of figure and/or garage kits. I don't mind traveling either. Thanks in advance
hi! i feel like this is kind of a dumb hiccup to have but my pin vise drill doesn't go deep enough when i'm drilling into longer parts (arms/legs). it goes about halfway down the length of the drill bit and then doesn't go deeper no matter how much i turn, how much force i use, etc. when i put the drill back into the hole and turn it, it just scoops up some resin dust rather than drilling down further. any tips?
Looking for something that is beginner friendly and ships to Australia!!
Hi everyone!
Complete resin Kit noobie here, but I'm just starting to prepare for a kit now!
I was wondering with the e2046 kits, do they need to be cleaned before use? Or is that generally an every kit thing?
Thank you!
Hello. I bought the garage kit by grizzly panda "Maid Jeanne" and while collecting I ran into a big problem. I can't attach the hair to the back of my head, it's too big and heavy. I can't even make a stand for them. I have never before encountered a problem that cannot be solved with superglue, I am new to garage kits and am desperately asking for your help
Working on this Iria figure and she only had one point of contact to her base so I already added more wire to reinforce it, (one long wire from leg, to foot through base) which is actually holding itself to the base but it's still way to heavy. Any ideas on what sort of things I can put underneath the base to counter balance the figure? Or do I and my friend need to give up on the free standing figure in the photos we were promised and look into getting a clear stand for the leg?
Grow tent size is like 5x5x6ft tall. Thinking to put it in the patio to usw it as a small hobby area. It also has duct hole for spray booth lol. Honest opinion?
