Hello ! I finished my second kit ! : D I'm very happy about the result even if the details are pretty amateurish. Fully handbrushed, this way has it's cons, but it's rather fun ! Taking pictures outside is nice too, the weather/background was perfect for this !
I lost a lot of pieces unfortunatly...I need to be more careful. Anyway seeing the final result encourage me to start the kits I accumulate for a long time. (You know scared to mess them...)

Next time I'll try to make my painting more clean and detailed !

Completed my first kit

This is my first kit ever + the first time I have touched a brush in my life. Overall a fun experience except that I am stupid and didn't pinned (didn't had the tools) and ended up with a glue mess on her hair, you live you learn I guess. Also I still have to make up something as a base because it came without one.

I’m working on my second kit ( the first one isn’t finished, I got lazy with the hair, but I’ll finish it one day I swear 😭)

this time, I’m doing a full hand paint one and its less inconvenient ! And if you ask, yes I forgot to paint the hands but I think I’ll paint these as gloves…also I lost many parts while washing it (at least 3-4)…

where do people buy their bases?

I've looked on e2046 but their shipping cost is really high, despite their low prices

Tabletop dust collection worth it?

Do any of you use one of those small tabletop dust collectors for sanding? I see some in videos sometimes but unsure if they work well. Finding them is also challenging outside of nail dust collectors (which may be fine or similar) meant for working on nails instead of models.

I'm not referring to larger booths for airbrushing and similar - I actually have one but it's a bit loud and in an area less comfortable without a chair, so I'm curious if getting a small separate nail dust collector that can go on desk alongside wet palette and other items would be useful for when Im cleaning and sanding parts. It may just be a waste of money though idk.

How to get this effect?

So I have this kit, and I saw someone else’s had this realistic lace thing going on. I’m assuming it’s wire? But how exactly did they get the lace pattern down? And how do you paint this?

Airbrush problems

Soo today when i wanted to start painting, i tested before if everything was working okay with water, .5mm needle, and small amounts of water came out when i was just pressing down the trigger for air. I tried searching for the problem and solution online, the needle was in place, nothing was loose, soaked the nozzle in cleaning solution and oiled the needle. I struggeled with it for a long time soo i moved the needle alot to see if that was the problem.

I tried switching to a 0.3 needle (nozzle and needle brand new) but then nothing came out? The needle was moving and was in place correctly. Only some water came out when i quickly moved the trigger back and forth.

I just wanna paint man 😞

Garage Kit (GK) Anime Figurine Tips!

Hey everyone!

I’m new to Garage Kits (GK) and recently got into collecting and customizing anime figurines. I’m really excited to dive in, but I quickly realized there’s a lot more to it than I expected! There’s prepping, painting, priming, sanding, assembling… and honestly, I’m not even sure where to begin.

If anyone has any beginner-friendly tips or advice on essential tools, starting techniques, or general recommendations, I’d be super grateful. I’d love to know what’s really important to focus on in the beginning and what makes the process smoother and more enjoyable. (As I hate working with glue and already need to repaint a figurine 😢)

Also, if there’s any specific starter set or toolkit you’d recommend, that’d be awesome!

Thanks in advance for helping a newbie get started. Looking forward to learning from everyone here!
