I sprayed two coats of primer and then TAMIYA TS-14 BLACK why is the paint like ”Semigloss or like Grey” ? I know it’s only the first layer but I have tried and got the same finish over and over again. Does clear coat fix this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Anyone have an alternative to Tamiya X-18 semi gloss black that’s acrylic?
Not sure if it’s just me but I find it to be a pain in the ass to airbrush lol
i just went to my local hobby shop to pick up some black for the nissan skyline gtr kit from tamiya, turns out i accidentally bought flat black because someone had misplaced it and now i cant go back there for a bit. im wondering if i could just use flat black and then clear coat it gloss and get the same effect? or should i just paint the car silver instead
My father used to have this Porsche when I was little and, I still have vague memories of it from that time. I'd like to get him a model of it, for Christmas, but my Google fu only finds me late 70s models that are different colors and sans whale tail spoiler. Can anyone direct me better?
Does anyone know where I can get a 1991 or 1992 bronco kit? I’m wanting to get one for my boyfriend for Christmas and paint it like the Bronco him and his grandpa worked on, that he still has. I’m having trouble finding one by just googling it. I’m hoping someone knows where I can get one that the google isn’t showing me? 🤞🏼🤞🏼
Go to hobby lobby or shop online before the sale ends, got all 5 for under $100 total with shipping and taxes included. Lots of kits under $20 each
Hello modelers,
I’m doing the BMW Z3 1/24model from Tamiya. I want to paint it with a specific BMW color : Topaz Blue. I’m unable to find a match for this color among paints for models.
I have multiple questions :
I have a fresh sample of this paint for the real car. Can I use it ? If yes, do you have any tips ?
If, no. What is the best approach to find the correct match with models paint ? Is there a knowledge base of this ? Which under layer ? Which mixing of paint ?
I’d like to have a realistic metallics paint. How to get it ? Right paint reference ? Additive to the paint ? Finish coat ?
Thanks for your help !
PS : sorry for my possible English mistakes. It’s not my mother tongue.
It has come to my attention that some tamiya spray cans have been banned in Canada, so I’m having a bit of trouble trying to find good suppliers of spray cans (primers, colour and clear coats). Just wondering where you guys buy those from and if you have ever had them shipped in the winter as I’m worried the paint may freeze. Thanks in advance boys.
Wondering if anyone has seen ANY sort of toy model for a 2013 dodge avenger. I've got a blacked out 2013 dodge avenger and was looking to get a replica model of it. Would take anything. Die cast. 3d print. Hot wheels or anything!!!
Not too expensive. One was $24 and the other was $27
I’m asking about how to make the bodies fit the chassis. For example the revell 1968 Shelby gt500. I like to build vintage cars and it seems the chassis is always wider than the body. I’ve painted everything and then I have to stretch the sides of the body to go over. But then when I try to glue. The chassis is either sticking out about 1-2mm. And if I try to push it in those 1-2mm it goes inside the body making the car sit lopsided and messing up the wheel alighnment. Is the body just to small? Cause it looks correct. Any help?
